America is the birth place of hip house, hip house, house , Latin house, techno, freestyle, rock, salsa, blues, punk rock, folk, r&b, gospel, grunge, alternative and so on.
this song was released shortly before Christmas in 88, it is one of the defining songs of my high school years. I remember it being a huge hit in all the clubs we went to, and recording mixes of the song on tape to play on our walkmans...
I also was a HS junior in 88. This song will alway remind of hangig with a buddy that has since passed away. We lived in NYC and had caught the vibe house music bug when a friend took us to the club Garage. We went a year or two before it closed, and continued to go until it closed. After that was club Tunnel house and many more. You could completely loose your self an inhibitions in that scene. The women were gourgeos, and it made me chill with the whole gay scene and see they were people like us. We all would party the nights away, those were good days. This song still makes me want to dance.
I first heard this jam when I was 14 yrs (1989) at a back yard, first party I had ever gone to on my own and I was blown with the entire scene, Los Angeles
I have total respect for the 1980's, the music, the shows, the movies, and the awesome looking clothes is something that should definitely be brought back!! Today's music cant even compare to the awesome 80's and 90's!! Most of today's music is forgetable after the first 2 weeks. Where as the 80's and 90's will live on forever!!!! 80's live forever!!! :)
To me the 80s were the greatest in terms of music.. Movies... Sitcoms... Fashion.. Music videos... Cartoons .. Toys.. Etc... Then when the 80s ended we all got to enjoy the 90z as well .. The NBA was the most exciting in the 90z ... For 20 years we were all so lucky
The early techno sound still brings me chills,,it take me back to my early rave days,, and how me and my friends would stay out all night till the break of day,,,i would get in so much trouble,,,but it was worth it,,,, miss you guys,,,love you,,
Today's trancey edm bullshit will never ever be as good as this classic anthem and all that other stuff from the late 80s and 90s. I soooo glad I was 18 in 1988 and got in at the right moment to enjoy all that good stuff to the fullest. Great music, great parties and the best pills!!! I would jump into a time-machine in a heartbeat if I had one and do it all over again again and again!!!
I love how simple this video is and it lets you interpret what the good life really could be. Dancing? Absolutely. Such a great time warp to my childhood.
to anyone worried about younger generations experiencing this amazin house/dance music, im 19 so this was coming out whilst i was born ... if only my teenage years were when this music was around!!!
Inner City - one of the best old skool groups there ever was, and this was the cream of the crop from their repetoire. Just great memories, and the dance floors were full listening to all this stuff!
An unforgettable groove and positive message from a beautiful woman that commands your attention from her strength,, talent and attitude, not her bikini. Played this 1,000 times. Don't regret a one. : )
Immediately I'm taken back to the late 80s..1989 to be exact when I was stationed at Naval Station Treasure Island, in the middle of San Francisco Bay..used to go into the city(San Francisco) and this song was always being played in every nightclub venue that I came across. So nostalgic for that time in my life.
Makes me a little sad for days gone by this track. Massive tune back in the day when I spent nights in London without a fucking care in the world. What time was it? 3am? 4am, 5am.....Who fucking cared!!
Great memories! Despite all of the pain in our world so much beautiful art was created then....We danced the pain away! 80s and 90s music defined the era!
Yep, and I was a House DJ at that time here in Miami. I was spinning this track in 1988 when it was released. Got it as a promo through the record pool I was a member of.
Wow, the early 90's seem to be my favourite time for house music. Those stabby chords, the soft chords, the female vox voice, the simple stab bass; everything was perfect! Compare this to current music; you can't because today's Mainstream pop is pure shot.
I love this song so much it's hard to put into words (although this isn't my favourite version). I've seen DJs drop different versions of this track all over the world, and with no exaggeration, crowds everywhere ALWAYS lose their sh*t.
If anyone wondered where the video is filmed in London, lots of it is obvious- St Paul's Churchyard (in front of the Cathedral), Piccadilly Circus at night, Albert Bridge at night.... the shopping street is Old/New Bond St, and the shop Paris is mostly dancing in front of is now called Max Mara (19-21 OLD BOND STREET, W1S 4PU) in case you want to make your own version!
This song was & still is a fantastic song to move, dance, & celebrate life. I fell in love with it as soon as I heard it years ago on the disco station WKTU FM NYC. The 12' version is awesome. We used to skate to this song at the roller rinks and the skate guards had there hands full with maintaining order & speeders on the skating floor. Stars, Skating Palace, Skate USA were among the popular rinks back in the day. Inner City had this hit & also "Where are the people" Slammmmin''' Peace 2 ya who remember your times of the good life.
Please bring this type of music back the world needs this...happy times 😊
House music hasn't gone away..
This jam will never get old. Never. True classic music
Facts!
Awwww, man, this is giving me feelings of being young and free!!!
Beautiful Detroit Techno. Giving love from Chicago. Our House and your Tech. We can't go wrong.

Hard to listen to this song and not get emotional. Thinking about how life was then. Man..
ONE OF THE BEST HOUSE TRACKS EVER !!!
Dance club all night. Leaving at 5am sweaty and tired....ahh the Good Life back in the day!!
I would eat an early breakfast after clubbing...somewhere near Broadway near NYU!!
The 80s was the best time for music
This song belongs to the 9os...no doubt.
The 90's had some hits too fam ...the 80's was insane to put it nicely lol
The 1990s were filled great music, the 1980s, 1970s, 1960s, 1950s were filled great music! Today's is music is weak and uninspiring to say the least.
👍 Agreed
👎Disagreed
And it's crappy, encouraging getting high, having sex too quickly and being an addict! Screwing yourself up.
Correct. Today’s music is absolute garbage
I totally agree older music is recorded with analog equipment and todays music uses stupid autotune.

Hearing those harmonies on "Good life" gives me goosebumps. Shame that today music is totally dead.
I remember rocking to this at the Choice , in the Lower East Side, back in the last 80's early 90's

My all-time favourite Acid House track - just brilliant. Such happy memories of the late 80s; great week-end music, and weird chemicals on offer
Today's trancey edm bullshit will never ever be as good as this classic anthem and all that other stuff from the late 80s and 90s. I love how simple this video is and it lets you interpret what the good life really could be. Dancing? Absolutely. Such a great time warp to my childhood.

Too many great Classics from a decade that will never be forgotten.
The 80's will live on long after we're all gone.
This song lives rent free in my head and yet I was today years old when I discovered there was a video for it.... 🤯❤😂
The music from 85 - 95 may have been the heyday of R&B / Neo Soul. It's a lost art now.
to anyone worried about younger generations experiencing this amazin house/dance music, im 19 so this was coming out whilst i was born ... if only my teenage years were when this music was around!!!
This was and still is the jam. Brings back some great 80s memories.

Very good song. I love this song.
Crazy how this is an 80s song. You could play this on radio stations in the 90s and it would fit right in with that decade.

I discovered this song accidentally one day and never forgot how awesome it was, i was finally able to find it again :D
Inner City - one of the best old skool groups there ever was, and this was the cream of the crop from their repetoire. Just great memories, and the dance floors were full listening to all this stuff!
