Definitely considering digital marketing! I’ve always been more of a creative/problem solver type of guy. Been in hard manual labor my whole life though. Trying to figure out how to make the transition lol 😂

Very interesting, because I also work in digital marketing but my resposibilities are very different. I mostly work with paid ads for various platforms, tagging and tracking and lots of data analysis.

A graphic designer can be a digital marketer, but a digital marketer can’t be a designer
I’d go with design first and then pivot if you decide you want to later on

Hii Kate, I am currently pursuing digital marketing in college what classes were you taking and what school did you go to?
As someone who decided to pivot in their career and strengthen my innate skill set on top of diving into courses etc. do you have any advice? It’s quite difficult as a lot of companies will claim they desire entrepreneurial spirits and although I have plenty of transferable skills on top of doing most of these things in my day to day but because I don’t have a formal degree it doesn’t translate. Thank you for this video, it insightful and I enjoyed seeing a glimpse into your day :)

Marketing doesn't have any targets, unless you're doing paid ads or you've promised a certain number of sales for your clients. But those are usually an estimated range rather than fixed numbers.

Paid Ads I believe is a branch of digital marketing that doesn’t need you to interact as much with others
I literally work alone and don't speak in meetings if you don't want to. Obviously if you want to go up you'll want to be known.

Anyways, I decided to start studying digital marketing and it seems like it depends on where you work and with what. The internship I will have next year doesn''t seem that social. I have also found that there are remote jobs in this business.

@@modest91 I think it will depend on the company but basically any experience you have in the field and/ or any portfolio you could have that would be useful is worth mentioning (I mentioned my yt channel and a blog I wrote for an assignment). Typically if they like you they’ll give you a task to complete for/ before another interview.
Tbh if mostly prepare standard interview questions!! I’m sure you’re gonna smash it 🥰

I've been sourcing this video for a lot of my consideration for going into this job but I have a question for Kate or anyone who knows really: is it true you have to build a large social media following for yourself? I'm really not trying to have my name and face plastered all over the place it just isn't who I am or what I'm comfortable with but a lot of classes I look into always mention building your own social media followings with your own profile...I'm really just trying to do work, indecent and easy, make some decent money and stay super down low. Hi! So like I said my internship offered me a job once I graduated. In terms of meetings I typically have at least 10 a week and yes you often have to present your ideas but it’s not always a formal presentation 😊

@@hiyd.y9787 Well, at one point I was spending too many hours in front of computer.
I had no free time, even on weekends.
My working hours were 9-5 but there was always something to do after. So, bottom line you have to be available all the time. My boss was calling me constantly, and I had no free days even when I had to do some private stuff.

@@saju8263 I think maybe a little bit of both. I've changed that company and got the same job in another. Same story. I was in that other company for only 6 months. Too stressful also.
