- I designed and created this gold K for a Katie who loves to knit. Medieval in inspiration, medieval in gesso and technique, but modern in design - one of my favourite things to work on.
I take commissions for letters like this at www.calligraphybymoya.com.au - but only sometimes!
The gesso I am using is made (by me) to the traditional Cennini recipe. I am using mostly sable brushes and a lot of patience!

Have done Gothic style calligraphy for 27 years, but have never used this clean , dimensional gold technique before. Please continue to teach me.

What is this recipe for gesso?

What are your favorite fine brushes? I find sables to be too soft. I like a bit of snap. Beautiful work!
