    FAQ:
    Why ‘the religious hippie?’
    It was a nickname my friends gave me when I was in highschool because I dressed like a hippie and was a ‘wild child’, when I came back into my faith they thought ‘the religious hippie’ was now a more appropriate nickname and it stuck!
    Who is your favorite saint? Saint Francis of Assisi

    This is something I have struggled with for many years, mostly stemming from loneliness. It can stem from so many things. What helps me is to just completely surrender myself to the will of God in my life, surrender myself completely to Jesus through the immaculate heart of Mary. I will pray for everyone struggling with this.

    I have watched several of your video's and this is the best one you have done. I hope you have backed these up. If not, do so. I have also had my struggles. I can't say it too much on here but lusts had plagued me until just before I became Catholic five years ago when I was 45. I have suffered many hurts I don't know if I will ever fully recover. I pray Rosaries everyday. I still haven't fully overcome my struggles, my anger. I know I need God more than ever.

    Awesome information! It’s so good to listen people talking about this topic, especially when you have a huge platform to help others overcome sin. We are like animals without God, just living for our pleasure.
    Go to tradicional Mass, go to adoration, talk to God about your problems and He will cure you. Love Him with all you have and repent.
    Pray the rosary EVERY SINGLE DAY, Mary is our great Mother and will always have our back and protect us with all her heart.
    God bless ❤

    Thanks for addressing this topic. It is a plague in our society - any priest will tell you - and is almost completely ignored as a crisis in our culture and in the Church. As noted, the problem will not just "go away" if someone gets married or enters a monastery; these problems should to be dealt with before. At any rate, if anyone reads this and is interested, I did release a song and reflection about holy purity on my TH-cam channel and the Catholic band Hallowed has some songs about addiction to pornography. I mention this because sometimes having a song to listen to or sing with can be helpful. God bless you and Mother Mary keep you...

    kudos for your frankness! It's real and praise be to God you became clear and free of all of this. I struggled with all of this when I was younger and understand the road you have to travel back to innocence. You're "lucky," God gave you grace to cut off the pornography addiction cold turkey before you went back to church, as an incentive to bring you back to Himself. He did similarly to me and it was connected to going to the TLM. God bless you abundantly for being willing to put all of this out there and praying for your future. 🙏🙏🙏

    Glorious Saint Anthony, you have exercised the divine power to find what had been lost. Help me rediscover the Grace of God received in the sacrament of Marriage.
    May my spouse and I feel strength, courage, hope and faith again. One day we had all this, but the wrong decisions we made in life made us weak.
    Help us find the helpful love again in which we give our all to make the other person happy. May this charity burn again like an unquenchable flame, so that there is joy again in the hearts of both.

    I have an interesting point of view as a woman on the subject of purity and it’s not something I’ve ever seen written on the internet or mentioned in videos.
    I have a very strong aversion to the thought of any male looking at me in any sexual way, that I actually get disgusted with thoughts that are just in my head of what they could be thinking based upon the popularity of pornography in this day and age. How do I overcome this. Its unfair judgement and comes from being so appalled at the images men have seen on the internet. I should probably add that it doesn't help that growing up all my friends were engaging with their boyfriends sexually and knowing that pornography was accepted and common amongst teens at that time, it really has distorted my brain in many ways

    What do you make of Matthew 6:7 in regards to the rosary?
    “In praying, don't use vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.”

    • @BrentHuddleston
      @BrentHuddleston 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      First, Jesus is not condemning repetitious prayer per se. If he were then he would be condemning himself, since he prayed multiple times, “Father . . . remove this cup . . . not what I will, but what you will” (Mark 14:39). But that’s absurd.
      Furthermore, right after Jesus condemns the “vain repetitions” of the Gentiles, he commands the apostles, “Pray like this . . . Our Father who art in heaven . . .” Does Jesus intend for us to only say it once? Are we forbidden to repeat the Our Father? Of course not.
      Finally, if we accept your interpretation of Matthew 6:7, we would have to condemn the four angels of Revelation 4:8 singing day and night without ceasing, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty.” Of course we don’t want to do that!
      So what was Jesus condemning?
      He was condemning Gentile prayers, which were meaningless or mindless repetitious prayers, as the Greek word battalogesete suggests. The Gentiles recited prayers only to appease their gods. They were, as the Revised Standard Version translates it, “empty phrases” having nothing to do with expressing one’s love for and trust in God. They would simply say the words, and that was it-they went their merry way and lived their lives as they wanted. That’s what Jesus is condemning, not repetitious prayer such as we find in the rosary.
      Hope that helps 😊

      @@BrentHuddleston Furthermore: is it vain to say "I love you" over and over again? If the beloved truly does love you...OF COURSE THEY NEVER TIRE FROM HEARING IT!! Same with asking Our Lady to pray for us NOW AND AT THE HOUR OF OUR DEATH.
      And again, the classic response to Protestants who criticize "vain repetition" as the Rosary disregard...gee I don't know...praise and worship music which at its very essence is repetition. I would argue THAT is a lot closer to vain repetition than the Rosary is. Deo gratias et Mariae!

    • @MoniqueGonzalez1212
      @MoniqueGonzalez1212 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      "vain repetitions" means just that "vain repetitions." People PRAYING the rosary are doing something very different- they are meditating on Christ's life, death and resurrection and all the graces He has given not only then, but now. Vain repetitions means without thought, consideration or respect for what is being said and what it means. We know mysteries are embedded in the prayers and meditations and ask God to bring us to deeper understanding of Himself and what He wants us to imitate in His Mother, especially for us women who consider her the perfect role model of womanly perfection.

    • @-Viva-Cristo-Rey
      @-Viva-Cristo-Rey 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is taken completely out of context. The rosary is a meditation on the life of Christ and this prayer not only strengthens our relationship with god , it helps us grow in humility and chastity.
      Read about the saints Padre Pio , Louis de montefort , maximillian kolbe and pope john paul 2.
      All of these saints prayed the rosary fervently and are now saints!!!' Becuase of Mary , the queen of all saints.

      @@-Viva-Cristo-Rey You may disagree, but it is not taken out of context - please provide evidence of the context i've failed to address and i'll happily change my opinion. In my experience a state of true prayer is not something I can bring about by my own power but in heart humility and conviction of sin.

      Not rule but advice. Sometimes temptations and distractions from demons may get too overwhelming so it apparently isn’t a necessary thing on your 2nd rosary etc of the day. Like swimming , just get on to laps with Our Father, Hail Marys after skipping Apostles creed, if it helps you complete the rosary. I think that’s what Gabi means.

    An immodest woman walks by? SO it's a sin to be a man with visual attraction to women? I think that is beyond ridiculous. Being attracted that way is part of male sexual psychology. Even a fully clothed woman could cause a man to have sexual thoughts, but that's different entirely from impulse control and how you behave. People think about sex all the time because we are human and that's how men and women perpetuate the species. If it's a sin for men to have sexual interest in women, then I guess no one should get married because for that to happen, men have to push boundaries. Even kissing will ignite passion, but if a guy stays dormant and takes no sexual interest, no passion will exist and men just get friend zoned. It's no wonder men are doing so poorly in church if this is the kind of advice they are given. The problem, as I see it, is not that men view women in sexual ways, but that this overrides everything else and becomes all consuming. I think we can all agree that's bad. Usually, though, that's not the extent of what Christians mean by lust. Should flirting, kissing, holding hands be banned? If thinking about sex is sin, that would seem to be the logical conclusion.

    • @ArmandoTheCatholic
      @ArmandoTheCatholic 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a sin to think about sex in such a way that it ignites the passions.
      For example, if I think about sex in a purely analytical way, such as the purposes, the ends, the morality of certain acts, etc... I am not committing a sin, although I must be prudent regardless.
      It is another thing if I see an immodest woman and think "she's attractive" and then start thinking about and focusing on her attractiveness. It is an illicit use of the natural desire for relations

    • @astronomer747
      @astronomer747 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ArmandoTheCatholic Why is it problematic that I focus on a girl being attractive? That just is what draws men in. They see young women as attractive and if they didn't have any focus on that they wouldn't have much interest beyond platonic friendships with women. There's nothing wrong with having sexual attraction. That's essential to being human. Christians can pretend that it isn't, but it is clearly dishonest. I think it is virtually impossible for a man that is dating a woman he is very attracted to not to think about sex and be drawn to her in passionate ways. I think the stronger the bonding between them, the more this passion tends to be overwhelming. This makes no more sense than criticizing women for wanting male attention and adoration. One isn't better than the other, and women think about sex too. I think this purity doctrine of religious conservatives is a myth. The idea, though, that thinking about something has to lead to action is simply false. Many, maybe most sexual fantasies people have are not even things you could fulfill in reality, or if you could, might be inhibited for moral or social reasons. And so many are just fantasies and don't have any outward consequences. There is a gap between the imagination and the cognitive planning of sexual behavior, so I don't agree with this teaching that mental phenomena have any slippery slope attached that is obvious in terms of behavior. As a kid I fantasized about violence all the time, but I wasn't a violent kid for the most part. And most affairs happen because men develop relationships with women that are not their wife and real bonding takes place. So most of the time men think about sex, it's not practical to indulge those desires anyways.

    • @astronomer747
      @astronomer747 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ArmandoTheCatholic And this idea that men are going to turn into Harvey Weinstein because they think too much about sex is ridiculous. Only a psychopath would fulfill their sexual desire without respecting anyone else's feelings, and most men are definitely not psychopathic. So all this talk about objectification being the root of this I think is silly, and it sounds an awful lot like what the feminists are saying who demonize male nature as inherently abusive towards women. Most men view women in sexual ways, but they also care about how women feel and don't disregard other aspects of their humanity. Just because I am interested in the sexual characteristics of women doesn't not mean I don't also think and desire their safety and respect her boundaries. Sex is a very personal thing and I would never force or pressure a woman into sex. It's not something I would even be remotely comfortable with.

    • @sadelorraine8437
      @sadelorraine8437 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The problem is you’re sexually imagining a woman who is not your wife. You are sexually lusting and imagining her body and how you want to use it. It’s sinful and goes against the Lord. That is not how you’re supposed to look at women. You are supposed to see them as sisters in Christ unless that woman is your wife.
      Stop trying to find loopholes to water down exactly what the Lord calls sinful and an abomination in His eyes.
