Don Early is a true OG and just a really good person. It’s funny watching this, because having worked for him at Future Sk8 many many many moons ago way before this current chesterfield location, I’d be sitting with him on his couch at his home and he proudly showed me everything shown in this interview and much much more. Don is an absolute hoarder and his collection of skateboard history is truly monumental on an insane level. When he first showed me this stuff I was absolutely mind blown. And everything has a vivid story from Don’s memory to go with it. He’s got a bunch of really cool and unique Neil Blender artwork too. I mean it just goes on and on. Genuine dude! Glad to see he’s still at it. The dude is so passionate about skateboarding that he’ll be doing this until the day he dies
Well said. Thanks for chiming in 🙌👊

I'm very glad that I recently subscribed. Nostalgic Neighborhood, thanks for coming out and profiling this shop! I have a personal connection to this museum and I would like to see this shop, park and museum platform continue for generations to come!
Everyone needs to put a visit to this shop on their schedule of things to do! All the best to Don, his team and the Nostalgic Neighborhood!
Thanks for the sub and welcome to the “neighborhood” 👋 Totally agreed, great shop and owner. 🙌 Hopefully Don finds another location as cool as this one!!! 🙏
thanks don for shouting out the local Downhill buffalo Race! You've been a great help sponsoring our events and having us at the shop.
Awesome! 🙌
What a place took me back to my youth still have my OG Santa Cruz slasher . Started skateboarding with mum dad and my sisters in the 70s in north west England still got this in my blood top video mate keep these up 👍
That’s so cool that you still have your OG Slasher 🤯 Love it!!! Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏
Wow! Had no idea this was so close to me. I definitely gotta get over there. Awesome content that brings a smile to my face as always brother. 🤙
Awesome. Thanks for the kind words. Definitely worth a visit. Totally a hidden gem and needs more attention. I knew the shop was there, but I didn’t realize how extensive his inventory and personal collection is. Just wow!
love this place stop by every time im in st Louis

Another awesome video Matt. I love the history of skateboarding videos. Really cool to see the preservation and display of the things we remember as kids. Thanks for the upload bro 🛹🤘🛹
🙌 Thanks for watching another one!!! That place is so full of cool stuff, both old and new. This video just shows the tip,of the iceberg. So rad!!!
@TheNostalgicNeighborhood I'm in Columbia, MO. I am going to go check out his shop next time I am in stl. Was planning in taking the gf to her 1st cardinals game, might have to take a detour!
@@theramplocal Right on!!! The shop is literally right off HWY 64 as you come up through the valley after passing the Missouri River. Super easy for a pit stop 👍
@@TheNostalgicNeighborhood hey thanks man! Are you from/close to the 314?
@@theramplocal Yes!
Wow, this is a GEM 💎
Loved every minute of this video just about to head out with my sons to skate

Right on!!! 🙌
THIS IS SO BAD ASS!
🙌 It’s such a rad place!!!
thank you sir for another Fantastic Video!!
Cool!! 😎 Thanks so much for watching and commenting 🙏
They will sadly get destroyed with the mall. Super nice owner. Little grumpy at first but realized I was just trying to learn and opened up instantly. Even roasted my board lol
Hopefully they find a new spot for the ramps before the mall is bulldozed
Growing up in San Diego, we were pretty spoiled with skate parks, skate companies, etc. basically the hub of So Cal. Vert skateboarding back in the 70s and 80s. It’s amazing how many other places around the country have rad skate scenes as well that you just don’t think about .
Awesome video that shop looked amazing!
Hammils Skate Shop in Mission Beach ruled all! Got my 1st Hawk deck there in 1989.
@@shawkes6775 Hamels is still there, but they don’t carry skateboards anymore that im aware of, just a tourist shop and rent bikes..
@@dougm.635 Yeah, we checked it out a few years ago. I was bummed to see what it turned into. Man, a Hawaiian shaved ice, a dip in the water, an airbrushed T-shirt and a walk through in Hammils was a damn good day in Mission Beach!
Yeah, it’s interesting to think about it. Most of what we saw in the magazines was from your area and we were always California dreaming, but definitely cool to see the pockets of cool stuff happening throughout the rest of the country too 🙌
@@TheNostalgicNeighborhood For Real Tho!
Amazing collection and a great guy
Agreed on both points 🙌
Great video, Thank you!
Thanks so much for watching and commenting 🙏
Thx for making this. Don sold me my first legit set up. It was a walker nightmare 2. A bunch of my close friends were on the future sk8 team in the late 80s early 90s.
How cool!!!! Good times! 🙌
I remember the ad for the walker nightmare in transworld and thrasher, iconic!
So cool!
Holy shit. That place looks amazing.
💯 Totally! 🙌
I love that this place exists, awesome job to the owner, and thanks for documenting this, very cool.
Right on. It certainly is a cool place! 🙌
So sick! I'm putting this one on my list!
Awesome! I’ll meet you there! 👊
Ladder safety 😳
I fell off a ladder in my backyard few years ago and dislocated my shoulder pretty badly. Definitely a good reminder to keep ladder safety in mind, but I’ve hurt myself MUCH worse riding my skateboard 🤣
Hey Don ,glad you made a full circle... Don was a friend and the owner of my local skate shop in St. Peters Mo.
Very cool! 🙌
Great as always my man, you find great spots..jealous Canadian 😕
Thanks for the feedback. At least maybe you can visit some of the cool US spots vicariously like this through TH-cam 😎
That was excellent!!
Awesome!!! Thanks so much 🙌
Soooooo flipping awesome! Thanks for documenting this!!!
Awesome! Thanks so much for the encouraging feedback 🙌🙏

Right on! You’ll love it!
Awesome video, i went to that Future SK8s street demo with Joe Lopes and Hosoi. Brings back good memories. thanks for doing these videos.
How cool!!!! We’ll do another video with Don and I think he’ll share some photos and stories from that demo 😎👊
What an amazing place!,thanks for sharing 👍.
Thanks! 🙏 Definitely a place worth sharing. It’s a hidden gem.
Don is an awesome dude and I hate to see the shop have to close and move. If anyone knows of anywhere we as a Skate Community need to reach out and let him know. The shop and park are awesome as well as the staff
Well said and totally agree 💯👊
he's the treasure
greatings from Brasil
Yeah Don is really good person helps everyone
💯 I spent a few hours with him over a couple evenings last week, and saw this first hand a few times as he interacted with customers. Especially cool to see him encouraging the young ones too 🙌
great video ive been to chesterfield mall 100 times never knew this shop was there, i gotta pick up that earth surf stl deck
Awesome, that deck graphic is super cool!! 😎

Thanks so much!!! I appreciate the encouragement 🙏🙌
AMAZING!! Man I loved every second of this, thank you so much!! Stay Rad! 🐀🛹
Awesome!!! Please stay tuned, because I’ll be heading back in a few weeks for another visit with Don. 👍
@@TheNostalgicNeighborhood can't wait!! Tell him the Rad Old Rat will visit one day 😂
I loved when I skated with my pals back in the 80s. We were south side street skaters aka Minnesota Posse grinding and railing on anything and did Ollie's over whatever was in front of us. Shout out to my pals Scott, Warren, Salasis, Brian-RIP, Arie-RIP, Mosses. Was the best times. Sk8 or Die bro.
I love it!!! Those were the days!!! 🙌💥
Thanks!
Oh wow!!! Thanks for the support! 🙏🙌
Great video! What an awesome shop!
Thanks!!! Yes, so much awesome stuff in there 🙌
You should of spent more time on those used 80s boards . Those Jeff Kendall decks were sick
💯 I’m going to go back in July, that’s a great idea for another video.
I was looking hard for that Danny Way minitruck deck!
Nice!!!

Right on!! 👊
My jaw dropped when you picked up that Caballero with the dragon graphics. That was my first board in 1989
Such a classic graphic 🙌🙌🙌
Omg i haven't seen that santa Monica airlines logo in 30 years. Had 2 Natas decks back in the day!
That’s awesome. Those Natas decks are so iconic 🙌🙌🙌
bloomington is rite up the road ....very killer place

I’ve a lucid dreams similar to this before I knew where it was

Thanks so much for watching and commenting 🙏🙌🍻
Love the Mellow Cat Tshirt! RAD-I-CAL-MON!
💯 Agreed! That shirt is awesome 🙌
The size of the store is just is unreal and then the collection is just far out man like holy crap lot of rare and stuff being born in 96 I thought I knew the “if you know, you know” stuff but wow dude
Yeah, it’s crazy how much cool stuff he has stashed away in there! 🤯
I haven’t been here in forever
Might be time for another visit 👍
My first board was a Vision Gator.
It’s such a classic design.
holy shit .that space is huge for a skate shop/park. so its an old SEARS huh? crazy.
Yeah, it’s pretty crazy indeed. I remember shopping for tools with my dad in that same Sears location when I was in high school 🤯
YEWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Yahoo !
Someone should help him DIGITIZE those Photos 🤔
Agreed! He’s got some great stuff in that shoebox 💯
Tony AWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Hahaha! 😂
Beautiful collection that Jesse posiden for sale?
that is one cool place!
I have to ask you about Monza...
I did not look into this brand until now, but I recognized the black pad with a fire-like logo on a white frame right now.. was this brand a Swedish brand once upon a time?'
I been looking around for this bike now, but I only find one store in the USA for the Monza bike.. maybe I am wrong? do you know if this is sold in Sweden?
thanks!
and keep at it with these kinds of videos, this one was really cool to follow!
I love nostalgic places..
Thanks for the feedback. The primary owner of Monza, Thomas, is Swedish and still lives in Sweden. Most of their sales are direct to consumer from their website. But they do have some shops who sell them too. I have no idea if any local shops in Sweden have them. If you email Thomas, he might be able to give you some direction: thomas@monzabc.com 👍
@@TheNostalgicNeighborhood ok, thanks for getting back.. will try to write to him.. I did get hold of someone on their Facebook page yesterday..
But they said, yes, the main office is still in Sweden, Stockholm but after the pandemic, we decided to stop selling bikes in the Eu and now only sell bikes in the USA..
I asked if I could not just go by their office and find a local deal right htere!?
...but seemed on whoever I talked iwth over Facebook felt that they really do not have any bikes here in Eu anymore or do not wanna sell them to us..
I do not know...
I mean if had the headquarters of a BMX company in the city where the company was first started I sure would still have a few bikes at hand where I worked...
but I do not know...
TNN does it again!
Thanks!!! 🙏
Does he have plans in Aug when they are demoing the mall? Hate to see that mall go, Don you did a cool thing over there! Hope you find a new home!
When I visited with him a couple weeks ago, he was still looking for a new location. Fingers crossed that he finds one soon!!!
I like the creature babe ;)
This place looks awesome, and it’s only about 18 miles from me, excellent. How much to skate the skate park?
I'd gone there a week back. It was free when i went but there wasnt many people there at the time so i dont know if that changed anything
I think it’s $5 for a session.
@@TheNostalgicNeighborhood
Sweet thanks, I’m definitely going to check it out. I actually think I saw you tearing it up at kinetic park when I first started skating last year. I just saw your TH-cam and was like, that’s that dude lol.
@@BHarris25 Awesome! If you see me up there again, please say hi 👋👊
It's $10 all day or five bucks in the afternoon
So with the mall getting destroyed soon, is this going to affect these guys? I hope not
Unfortunately, they have to move. As of a couple weeks ago, they hadn’t found a new location yet. Hopefully, they’re having good luck on the new place. 🤞
these are the kind of businesses we need more of in stl, not more car washes and apartments
Well said. Seems like there’s a new car wash popping up on every corner these days. If we had skate shops and skateparks in those locations, the world would be a much better place 🙌💯☮️
Are rollerblades allowed in the park?
I’m not sure. I have
A link to their facebook page in the description. You could sent them a DM or call to see. 👍
You walking in to nobody being there is super sad
Yeah, would love to see the shop area super crowded, but most of the patrons were in the back skating for most of the time we were there…
yooooo dude this is my local park shout out babyyyyy
Awesome!!! 🙌
Very cool. Good post. I know it's cliche but support your local indie skate and BMX shops. 🛹
Right on!!! Thanks! 🙌🙌🙌💯💯💯
