You just describe the track NATE where he starts out with..
'' Yeah, sometimes I wanna disappear like I just don't exist
Or find a time machine and take me back when I was six
Maybe younger, either way, I guess the point of it
Would be to tell that little kid that he's gon' take a lot of hits!'' ;)

The description of cPTSD was spot on for my personal experience. It is so hard to have any confidence in myself or to feel safe when I can flash back and my abuser is there hurting me all over again. This song made me cry so hard the first time I heard it. Okay, so much of NF's music does that.
It gets even worse when things actually go wrong. The shame is all encompassing. My abuser's voice telling me that I cannot make it without them is so ingrained from when I was too afraid to run and I heard it over and over. With a job loss, relationship ending, sudden onset chronic pain, friends leaving me in my darkest moments, and then my car being stolen in the last 3 months that voice is all I can feel as I have slowly lost the feeling of progress I built over the last 5 years since I walked away. Recently, I have been withdrawing and unable to make progress on the job as I have definitely been paralyzed. I just keep hoping something goes right soon, but I'm having trouble doing the things I would have to in order for it to happen. I did decide not to give up, at least, but trauma sucks.

Thank you so much for your analysis. I have struggling with consistency in therapy and you gave me reason to really try again. To put into my therapy as much as I can, even when it's hard. I have diagnosed Complex PTSD, and what you said helps me feel like I am finally understanding it. Recognizing the symptoms for what they are, and being kinder to myself.

It is so nice to hear you talk about complex ptsd on a public platform. To be honest it’s quite hard in the UK to find a therapist that really understands it and your soo right when you say many therapy’s can be symptom based.
The fact you do reaction videos too is a bonus.
It would be awesome to see you do twenty one pilots ‘trench’ album in regards to CPTSD.
And the map of DEMA (the brain) from the Clancy journals and how it relates to the actual parts of the brain. The thing i found most fascinating is how DEMA looks like it is located at the brain
    stem. This blew my mind.
I was diagnosed with CPTSD many years ago (i manage it really well now thanks to therapy) and so many of the things that Tyler put in his lyrics/ Clancy letters remind me so much of the things I was taught in therapy.
Maybe there isn’t any connection at all and am looking for a connection that isn’t there but i would love to know your professional opinion/reaction 😊

I'm seeing a lot in the comments about failure of therapy. Which has been my experience as well. You mate are an unusual Psych (to your absolute credit👍). Most do nothing but throw Freudian bullshit at you and drug you to the nines. Your management and quality of life approach is exactly what Veterans especially need. Hats off mate. God Bless👊

It's refreshing to hear your ACT perspective. I've listened to NF King before he was popular because he's real and raw in expressing himself without the profanity. Complex PTSD is spot on, and while we dont need a diagnosis to understand his human experience. Experiential avoidance is a catch-all term in ACT that accurately describes the function of our responses but not necessarily the intent if that makes sense. I think we can both want to move toward a more meaningful life and sabotage our efforts with experiential avoidance. You do a great job explaining the spirit of therapy without all the technical talk. But I also appreciate learning how these processes can be understood through songs. We can't read Nathan's minds but his lyrics are quite revealing.

I am so excited to keep up with you while you go down this journey! And what makes it even better is you’re going in order 👏🏻 it will give the best understanding of Nate’s personal journey in overcoming the traumas that he’s faced. The early tracks give you backstory on the things he went through in childhood, his view of himself etc and as the albums go on you can see him slowly healing and his mindset on certain topics changing. Keep up the great reactions! I love seeing your insight.

I appreciate you talking about the freeze trauma response. It is too often overlooked. I have been dealing with anxiety and depression most of my life. And it got to the point where nothing was happening to me. It seemed like everyone around me was moving forward in life. But I was stuck. Waiting for life to happen to me. I was afraid to open up. I was afraid to try new things. I was afraid to try. Period. It has taken a lot of work to process my trauma and face my demons. I finally had to ask myself, what is it you are so afraid of?
Being rejected. Being unwanted. I'm not going to lie. Some days, I still get scared, but I have learned to be okay with that. It's okay to get scared.
I wasn't okay with staying stuck. So I did the scary thing anyway. I took a step forward. ❤

I am watching your NF Journey and it is very powerful. Thank you. I would suggest you drop in the song "Nate" since you just did "How Can You Leave Us" which although "Nate" is on album 4 The Search, it fits right in this timeline here. And it relates to what you are saying on this video Paralyzed. It is about Nate talking to his younger self and it won't be a spoiler to the NF Journey story but will enhance it. There is a story and it unfolds on each album.

Hey you :) Are you familiar with the charity organization Beauty After Bruises? While they are based in the US, they offer education, tools, coping skills, and more to survivors globally. They focus on complex ptsd and dissociative disorders (namely all complex childhood trauma) and their work is so in line with your advocacy and education. While you offer the clinical side, I know there are SO few resources for survivors out there that are credible, approachable, easy to understand, but well-researched. Thought they might be a good organization to have on hand for even your young clients and in any other work you do. They've been a godsend here! 💙💜

Their articles on things like 101 Grounding Techniques, 101 Self-Care Techniques, as well as Distraction, Nighttime Routines, and visualizations for pain, body memories, emotion modulation, and everything have been so so helpful in a treatment setting for clients, but also just for anyone stumbling upon them themselves. They're super thorough without being too heady/academic for any newbies!

    2023 Updated NF Journey List
🎶 This is for anyone new who may want to take the NF journey as we call it because he intertwines his music like marvel movies. All of his albums are like a connected series.
He also hides eggs in his videos which he co-directs and co-produces.
For example in his “When I Grow Up” song there were four hidden eggs in that song: 1. A black balloon by the trash cans (black balloon represents his burdens per search single) 2 In the burger joint he grabbed at receipt that had the date and time of when his song time was being released. 3. He had outcast written on his name tag in the janitor scene which references his Outcast song. 4. He had his moments album CD in car scene
Another example is in the search song he had cage in background he rapped in from his outcast song. Search single also connects to Hope. In Hope he has the “map to hope”.
The black smile you will see painted on his mouth is explained in his therapy session song.
    Here is the song order:
    MANSION ALBUM:
    1. All I have (VIDEO)- Will connect to his Suffice single from Hope album.
    2. Intro (VIDEO) (Connects to Outro)
    3. Mansion- *will connect to Intro 3. Fear moved in. Also connects to paid my dues. Anger lives in basement* Lastly it connects to Hope single.
    4. Wake Up (VIDEO) connects to Intro 2 and Outro.
    5. Paralyzed- Connects to Let you down and Trauma

    5. Real song- (VIDEO) * He pays homage to Lil Wayne in this song by using his famous line feed me rappers or feed me beats but adding feed me both of them 🔥* Also connects to Outro video.
    6. Grindin’ ft. Marty (VIDEO)

It was to the awful article rolling stones put out because the writer was a big chance the rapper fan and was pissed NF took number one spot. Over 400 people bashed that writer in the comments lol
Chasing -demo he did with a fan. This was very nice of him to do. This also will connect to the whole theme of Clouds Mixtape.
    CLOUDS THE MIXTAPE-
    1. Clouds (VIDEO) * This connects to outcast single turn the music up and options singles* connects to hope single

    6. Prideful-Connects to Lost as he speaks about pride in that single.

(The whole album is amazing so please listen to the rest of the music when you can. Nothing else is a call back to his older music)
