Shadow having more stages probably would’ve resulted in Sonic having less SA1 had 10 Sonic stages. SA2 had 10 speed stages between Sonic & Shadow I actually like the treasure hunting a fair bit. The mech stages aren’t for me though. But if you mod the game, you can play through them as Sonic/Shadow which is cool. I like playing Mission Street as Sonic, or Weapons Bed as Shadow, spin dash jumping over the gaps that Eggman usually hovers over
list of levels sonic city escape metal harbor green forest pyrimid cave crazy gadget final rush green hill zone shadow radical highway white jungle sky rail final chase 11 in all
i give this game a lot of crap, most of which i think it deserves, but the speed levels really had so much potential. They were like a mix between a regular platformer, a tony hawk game, and a splash of jetset radio with how floaty it is. Moments like 1:53 are literally gold, its what i wish this whole game was. It is the perfect combination of flash and substance, your reward for your timing and skill is an extra life, a dope trick complimented by a great camera angle, and last but certainly least the points added to your score. Its not automated, that entire section is your reward for being good at the game and thats how it should be. Their needed to be so much more of that in this game, skill based jumps that are about speed and timing, instead of the game taking control away from you and playing itself. City escape also had stuff like this but this one is my favorite in the game.
I can agree, Sonic Adventure 2 is the best game SEGA has ever published in my opinion. If only they added the Chao Garden and the 2 player battles in the newer games, I’d LOVE that.
Mechs are definitely the worst. Treasure Hunting has its problems, most notably the radar. But at least there is something to that gameplay besides holding the shoot button and mostly uninteresting platforming sections
"Also not the only good part of this game" I'm gonna have to disagree. I did a longplay of this game recently, and I HATED the treasure hunting and mech shooting levels.
@@lloydbautista2055 I'm gonna have to call bullshit because the treasure hunt and mech stages in this game are complete 100% *downgrades* from their SA2 counter parts and are nearly unplayable so you didn't enjoy it or you didn't play it or you are just in denial. There is no fun to be had in most mech and treasure stages.
@@dreamcastdazia4753 Unplayable lol, don't exaggerate, they're more than okay I really hate the 1/3 mentality, if you don't whine all the time about them, they can be enjoyed, I did my first time and I still do, it offers variety Heck I'd take Mad Space over Final Chase all day For me they're not downgrades from their SA1 counterparts, they're more refined version as SA1 shared locations for its mech and hunting stages In SA2, the stages are built around the mech and hunting gameplays, which is better for me The radar was nerfed because you actually need to use the hints and learn the stage layout instead of just have a super op radar and Tikal directly telling you where they are, it's a harder version of the Knuckles stages and it's more than fine
@@dreamcastdazia4753 I recently beat the game on my first play through a few months ago and this is a total exaggeration. These gameplay styles are fine, they work really well. SA2 demands skill and every play style requires it to enjoy it to the max, sure some stages can be a drag in treasure hunting if your in-experienced but mech levels are good and most treasure hunting stages are good too
If the game was 80% Sonic and Shadow levels it would have been pretty much perfect
i always loved how they animated Shadow in this game. Newer games made him stiff and clunky
@Mordechai Dakari huh? this is unrelated to the comment lmao.
I have always felt the same way. At high speed he was really moving with purpose.
It looks a bit ridiculous but I can't deny it's way more fun this way.
Not anymore (:
Shadow should've had more levels.
Ikr
One of my main issues with dark story
Same as sonic
Levels with knuckles, rouge,.tails and Eggman are annoying for me
@@R3d_Dr4g0n18more annoying than Werehog in Unleashed tbh

Dont forget the extra stage
Green hill
Agreed. Lots of good in this game.
When you realize that the invincibility shield music is saying “super sonic forum” like the Sonic CD ost does so for the Invincibility shield
Is super sonic warrior
I Love Sonic Adventure 2 So Very Much.
The best parts of the game!

0:07 That sound effect gives me some Wolverine vibes.
the shadow stages seem to have better level design than the sonic ones huh?
Treasure Hunting: 4/10
Mech: 7/10
Speed: 10/10
For me it's
Kart 4/10
Treasure 6/10
Mech 8/10
Speed 10/10
for me its speed 6/10
everything else 2/100
Bad rankings
The disrespect to this game 😭
For me speed:9.5/10
Treasure hunting-8/10
Mechs-7/10

It’s whack how SA2 only had four levels for shadow, besides the boss fights.
WEIRD HOW THERE IS NO DARK EQUIVALANT TO METAL HARBOR
There is. Weapons Bed. But it's an Eggman level
13:26 now i understanded why sonic is being pursuited by Police,he is destroying everyone cars
