    Andy get an EGR cooler connected too your exhaust, and pipe the hot water into that radiator that’s shown on the video. You will be surprised how hot the radiator gets 😉

    If your using it as a primary heater it works out better to put it on a larger 50 gallon bulk fuel tank -
    They dont come with a inline fuel filter - i recommend ordering one and adding it to the fuel line -

    I had said my 8 kw heater puts out 12000 BTUs over 16 hrs on low you tube would not allow me to edit that statement - it puts out around 90000 BtUs over 16 hrs -
    I was a systems teck in the offshore oill and gas industry for decades - i more or less know the efficiency of burners ect -
    Going by the fuel burned and heat discharge and hot gas discharge my guess is its 65 to 75% fuel efficient -

    I keep mine on Alpine mode all the time. It saves more fuel and runs every bit as good. I see others are doing the same, Andy. 👌👍

      £1.60 a day=£48 per month to heat one room!!!! That's why I don't consider my CDH to be all that. I just use it for about 10 minutes to heat up my lounge on a Friday/Saturday.

      @peterlumper5376 do you even get a room warm in 10 mins? Surely the heater is just about getting upto operating temp by then. Try running it for an hour or 2 on heating kero that's currently about 73p a litre. Can I ask what heating you run that's more cost effective?

    I also run one of these heaters on heating oil and they are great. Here comes the maths :- fuel pump pulse amount= 0.02ml, X 1.7hz (or what you have it set to), X 60 to get mins, X 60 again to get hours = 122.4ml per hour. Hope this helps people out to get a good idea on usage.

      @@Yeshua73732 Most of these Chinese heaters have a pulse pump for the fuel which is 0.02ml per pulse. The accuracy of these pumps are to be questioned though. I don't know what Hz Andy had his heater set to but maybe his heater is set at a lower Hz and slower fan speed to keep the burn correct.

      Not a huge amount since these heaters are mostly used in Motorhomes or caravans on leisure batteries. Mine pulls about 1.5amps @ 12v so 18w when running, the pull is higher starting up for the glow plug, but soon settles down. 18w is nothing really in the grand scheme of things...

    I have a 8 kw mine running on low puts out about 12000 BTUs every 16 hrs - thats around a gallon of fuel per 16 hrs -
    I live in the US in a rural area so power outages can often be frequent -
    The cost of a diesel heater is about the same as an electric heater in this area -
    Power is 12 cents a kw were im at - diesel is $4 a gallon - it does cost less than propane to operate -

      @@andyfireblade you might look into getting a old gas heater with the pipe in the center of the tank that the hot gas travels up - you can make a round plate for the bottom hole with a 3/4 inch center hole in the pipe on the bottom and a plate for the top of the flue vent of the tank with a 3/4 inch hole on the top for a choke or damper -
      That way your recovering most of the exhaust heat off the heater and using it in the home -

  • @flitsies

    According to another ooster, one brand of this very heater had been band by the govt, all of these are pretty much the same but the brand he has fir no good reason has been band, and he used his showing him getting his heating costs down to 3p per kw which all seems rather suspicious because it was only banned after he showed it.
    Also there is a ban on using old engine oil to run them, it seems the more people show how to reduce the cost if heating the more bans on these things come into play, even though these were invented in the 1930s and have been successfully used in all manner of locations.
    We shall see how many more get banned from sale even though perfectly safe to use.

    • @andyfireblade

    • @flitsies
      @flitsies 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@andyfireblade Yes that is true he was mixing with free veg oil.
      But it's sad that our govt would want to stop people using cheaper ways to stay warm instead of paying lots of money to these companies making record profits.
      But the beauty of this system is that it was invented such a long time ago so we can see the hypocrisy stearing us in the face when govts ban things like this and can clearly see the skulduggery goings on.
      Let's just watch this space and see how many more they've ill Tey to ban.

      @flitsies 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@andyfirebladeI think something is going on with my replies as they seem to go missing.
      But needless to say I mentioned that anything which enables people to save money related to energy use seems to attract the attention of govt agencies, and oddly enough I have found at least two postings of mine commenting on the govt attention oddly vanishing.
      Very strange, or is it paranoia.
      We shall see in time.

    • @able880
      @able880 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you just use a 12 volt power supply and you loose power the heater will melt down on you if it looses power while it's in operation -
      It's better to use a small AGM battery and a 10 amp 3 stage switcher charger -
      The charger will maintain the power and in the event of a power failure the the heater will continue to run till the battery runs low - then the heater will shut down And go through the normal cool down mode as to prevent it from a melting down -
      The heater must have power at all times from start up to shut down

    • @andyfireblade
      @andyfireblade  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      it is marked on the plastic on the transformers.
      one side is 240v in and the other side 12v out.
      3 wires going in live , neutral, and earth.
      and 2 power wires going to the heater live and neutral

      One TH-camr has an air quality meter in his garage and he said the air quality goes down only when the heater is cranked on high setting which could cause the plastic housing to offgas fumes. I’ve heard there is an aluminum housing available on some, but the cheaper ones have plastic housings around the heater. You might try a lower setting or perhaps an aluminum housing
