Whenever I face anything in a monster hunter I can't help but to think about how would our modern society face these monsters. I reckon most of the time the military would just blast them to death, which is a pretty boring, yet, really efficient way to get rid of these monsters, however, how would you actually stop a rampaging Dalamadur / Shah Dalamadur? Nuke it? What if it attacked a city for example? MH4/U actually asked us this question when including Dragons attacking Dundorama
I have always thought about that. If these monsters existed in our world, there would probably be special teams keeping tabs on them and make sure they don't threaten any humans (something that happens in the MH world). If they were headed towards a city, said city would probably be evacuated and once everyone is out, the defenses would be placed in position. Some of the monsters can take a LOT of punishment from weapons that can literally strike them with their elemental weaknesses and cannons, not to mention they look like they can shrug off bullets and any military weapons, not unlike some Kaiju, so a possible attack by them would not only be a very serious concern, it would probably lead to mass panic.

It's impossible. The thing you don't realize is, this is killed over 4 phases, and each phase is a quest, plus, there can be up to 16 people fighting one at once in groups of 4. It's a "server battle"

RB_ Ricky yup. Theres 3 Varients. The Regular Raviente, Violent Raviente, and the best of the 3 imo, Berserk Laviente. Laviente is the hardest and most fun of the trio to me
@LWLP I think there is six groups of four or something. They fight in groups, for this monster, so only 4 huters per group (you can't see the rest in battle)
@RyuHoly what happens is that since the Raviente is so big and has so much hp, it would take a long time to kill it, and to shorten the battle and to make it not impossible they give you 4 computer controlled NPCs that help you out, but it still is 4 human-controlled players per quest. to answer your question yes NPCs are CPU players

Epic monster, especially that sick roar. Even high grade Earplugs aren't enough. From what I understand this is a server wide battle and it shares hp with the whole server. Finally a big monster that realistically needs more than 4 hunters to take it down. Wish I could play :(

That was Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. A completely different game from Monster Hunter 3 Tri. Monster Hunter 3U (3G in Japan) is a combination of Portable 3rd and Tri, with extra G rank missions added in.
