Yeah, you couldn't close the combo. There were no affinity bonus at the time, it was implemented for the first time (I believe) in 3U. Also, Frontier had a different type of moveset, you could not follow up with the last attack of the spirit combo with another attack, you could just end with the "sidestep" move, when you slash and dash in a direction.

@@JanoyCresvaZero thats seems like a bland way to put it honestly, the game looks fun and alot more fast paced than the main series (which I kind of wanted), if im being honest again I dont understand why almost everyone in this damned community hates on this game until it got wiped off the face of this planet there was obviously an appeal that you mainline hunters didn't understand and maybe the other way around for the "anime" hunters the combat in frontier is alot more fast paced and im guessing also very fluid compared to the main series with weapon style leaning towards that style of gameplay while the mainline series is alot slower in comparison and also not as fluid sure you could say world had improved on that but I usually try to keep that in its own catergory greatswords you couldn't simply shoulder bash with to not flinch, heavy bowgun was alot more clunky, insect glaive you couldn't become plane and fly for as long as you want blah blah blah in turn the monsters had recovery animations and shit so you had time to hit them before they go on a murderous rampage again since if they didn't have those animations then it would be like mhw but with the weapons still being clunky as fuck, and im guessing frontier reflects that with monsters being more aggressive those 2 line's of game are different and both appeal to different sides of that community, and what I dont understand is why you mainline fucks cant get that through your thick fucking skulls
That's what this monster is! I played Frontier once and just fought one random monster with the very equip the game started you out with. Now, I'm still not sure, was it impressive that I first tried the LR version of that monster with the very starting gear? xD
Can you beat him without reaching the last phase or the damage caps? Because if you attack only a few brocken parts on paper you should be able to kill it
@@Narugarex So essentialy he rewards you for breaking his parts by becoming more tender (when he loses the mud), but punishes you if you go too far? Because if it's this way it has the potential to becoming my favourite monster. That gimmick is simply brillant! Now I want him in a mainline game.

Since I don't do very well in hunts most of the time, I'd break the crab's rock shell and still die at the second phase
If I’m correct, there’s some cases were you can kill the crab before it goes into its final form
That and if you’re as bad as you say you are then reaching the crab would be hard already

No that was added in Tri, and frontier never got it, long sword does have a lot of other stuff tho
