- Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn aims to build on Elden Ring by combining the challenge of a Soulslike with the cinematic flare of a Sony first-party.
Flintlock is due early 2023 for PC (on Steam and the Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It will be available on Xbox Game Pass on launch day as well. - เกม

The definition of a preview is to display a product before it is available, so what IGN’s still fits the dictionary. You just don’t get the IGN reviewer’s gameplay and opinions regarding the game they played.
@@unioneye1087 but if they haven't played it, how can they preview it? They just watching gameplay as well as us. To be honest, it's more the developers. I've seen a few now send previews out like this, it doesn't work for me.
This has been a thing since the beginning "hands off" is usually the phrase. And it's fine.
I'm not entirely certain that "souls like" has much clarity in it's meaning anymore.
Either way this game looks pretty cool. I'll be trying it as soon as it's out.
I'd say currency resetting on death, enemy resets on rest, and dodge/ timing based difficult combat
For me, a Souls-like needs three things: Z-targeting combat, bonfire-like respawning, and a bloodstain-like mechanic where, after dying, you need to recuperate unspent exp from the place you were killed.
According to the video, Flintlock has these three things (although the last one is for a secondary type of progression rather than exp).
So. In my books. Flintlock is a Souls-like.

Optional dungeons, endgame bosses, secret areas, a home base that grows over time, a story mode that re-calibrates the difficulty to something more accessible. Some of my favorite things in gaming.

As someone who didn't get into the souls games, but did get into elden ring but love assassins, Fable, etc.... this feels like a really nice hybrid and deffo got my interest!

Tried 4 separate times to get into Elden ring and every time it couldn’t keep my interest. Was too cryptic and boring, you have no idea what any items do, has no story, has an absolutely terrible and dated UI. Terrible overrated game 100%

I’m looking forward to this game honestly it reminds of gow 2018 yes but it also reminds me of greedfall mixed with ac3. The protagonist is of Native American decent? Not sure yet but I’m getting these vibes.
Trust me a singular character trying to surpass elden ring with an axe a pistol and a magic fox is not gonna out due fromsoft master pieces, you don’t see people succeeding at GTA clones, just make your game and don’t over do it and it should work…maybe
FromSoftware has made the SAME game 5 times! RE-USING a number of things on the SAME archaic engine. They're already ahead of them.

@@Supre3m3Kai Minimal? Maybe compared to an MMO. You got health top left, a point system under it. Map top right, objectives under that. Weapons on the bottom left. Enemy health whole bottom. And whatever that thing in the bottom right is.

Souls Like=I get to be angry and frustrated at my game, rather than enjoy it. Calm down folks, its just my opinion
You sign up for it. It's really not that hard. If it is -- You level up your character and make progress or summon another player to help you.

Finde das Spiel jetzt nicht so doll. Die Grafik sieht gut aus das Kämpfen auch nur mir persönlich were es zu langweilig immer die selbe Waffe und die selben Klamotten zu tragen. Daher ist der Vergleich zu dark souls oder elden ring nicht ganz stimmig sieht für mich eher wie nen etwas anderes final fantasy aus.

I've played Bloodborne and Demon Souls and both felt just too bland and stale to keep me interested, this seems to take all those pain points and blow them away! Will definitely be checking this out!
