Thank you for the time you put into this review but why in the hell did you only compare 4k 60 to 4k 30 fps, 4k60 fps is way darker always and has less focusing speed and stabiliation, the real comaprison would be both cameras set to 4k 30fps
I think that at the moment of seeing the image stabilizer, you moved the Samsung a lot more, because it is impossible that when walking, the video trembles so much and in my experiences it is not like that
Brandon Rode I don't like the infinity display personally. I would just like a more premium device with extra extra features like Samsung has. The only reason why I don't have a Samsung it's because of the software and really slow updates.
I will say pixel 2xl camera is best but all things are trash and s9+ is almost a perfect phone battery camera design display water proof all thing are better on the s9+ and it's best phone of the year lol😎😁

Thank you for this video, I bought the pixel 2 XL and I'm really disappointed with the low light performance especially the video performance. It's so bad I don't think I will ever use it. However although the S9 is better it's still not great. Im unsure if I should switch as I don't feel like I'm choosing which is better but which is the best of the worst.

For those of us who enjoy adding exposure to pictures ourselves, the S9+ (which I decided to get after your previous video talking about the differences) is much better. You get more of a raw picture with it imo. When he said it's too orange... at the end he showed that you can fix it! Is there a way to do that with pixel? Plus the samsung gear is just awesome. Very happy with my choices and glad I ran across your channel to cement those choices.
Wow, thanks for taking the time to put this together. If all I cared about was the camera, then yes Samsung has a few improvements over pixel. But I'm all around stock Android, but wow the mic on the S9 is way better.

Dude, just as an FYI, you must've used UHD 60FPS On the s9, that mode does it have stabilization. One thing I can say about the S9 is that the video stabilization is superb!

you can get pixel 2 camera software on your Samsung galaxy s6,7,8,9 and the plus one also. Need some seriously deep comparison regarding raw dynamic range processing and other stuff. Btw this is one of the most detailed comparison.
That building that looks like it says "dgos" or something is where are the pixel messed up on that panoramic shot. It's stitched it wrong and has it leaning completely upwards which is why your picture was on an angle.
You talk about how images on front facing camera of Pixel look much more processed , but I think that processed does not mean what you think it means . Pixel preserves so much more detail , of your skin and hair in particular , while the S9 Plus smooths it out .
I don't know why you don't spend more time to discussing the visibility of the phone General interplay of apps and widgets and all that stuff kind of feel like that's more tell tale of the phone rather than the quality of the camera and the quality of the selfie picture. Is that what phone people are all about nowadays 4K resolution on your selfie photo / video clip if that's the case wouldn't it make more sense to just invest the money into a real camera? I'm sure that you could purchase a way way better camera for a substantially cheaper price then the camera mounted inside your cell phone but I don't know maybe I'm crazy?

I am writing this comment from Pixel 2xl and I can confirm that it is a bad phone. Latest update messed up my wifi connection, and I have to restart my wifi in order to get it working again. I spent 1000$ on this garbage.
the stabilazation test was bullshit you still had 4k60fps on the s9+ which even says that its NOT stabalized also i saw other comparisons that were again diffrent from that and more accurate to the results i personally get
Pixel 2 xl gunna be a hard camera to beat... Gunna be interesting how the rest of the new phones coming out in 2018 will hold up.. S9+ definitely a close second at least on rear cam, really wish Samsung would improve on their front facing camera. I hate how much it washes out the face and makes the skin look so unnatural
Honestly after watching many s9+ Vs pixel 2 battles, I think they're equal, one is stronger in some areas than the other and vice versa. Whereas before there really was no competition for the pixel 2, but of course it is still very early in the year.
You say that the galaxy allows you to capture in raw, that, hands down makes it the better camera. If they are so close here, a processed raw image will be 100x better
Read somewhere that the stabilization dont kick in if you have 4k/60 on the S9 - only if you have 4k/30. Maybe that can explain the bad video result for Samsung?
I rarely leave a comment on videos but this has to be the most comprehensive S9 v P2XL camera test out there.

Sigfús Steindórsson agree when using 60 fps you get faster shutter which means lesser light going to the sensor

In my opinion, I think brighter images are better over too much contrast on Pixel. I mean it looks more pleasing to look at if the photos are bright.
Of course the s9+ is a complete smartphone. Unlimited cloud storage on the s9+? How can i get it?

Google recently updated the software on the Pixel 2 XL again which improved the audio quality when taking videos. It keeps getting better and better.

Why is my iPhone x not playing 4k? The 1440? Only maxing out at 1080 as of the last week. Older videos still play 4k

For the stabilization test, the S9 uses only OIS with 4k 60. A more accurate compare would have been 4k 30 on both, where both use EIS.
The GS9 has auto focus on the front facing camera which makes the background blurry.
