    I have lost 20 pounds in one month with keto diet and fasting.
    No gym ,lots of walking, reducing stress sources.
    Before I start this diet I worked on fixing the gut micro system what ever it called. Two three weeks eating fermented food, kefir , yogurt ect with no gluten.
    I feel really good, high in energy and planing to create my own way to continue this life style without getting in stress of missing my eating pleasures.
    I think it’s possible with Mediterranean diet I saw from my grandparents.
    We are from south of Turkey , our traditional diet is almost like keto anyway.
    Thanks dr Berg for all the great , inspirational videos and information. 🙏❤️
    One suggestion from own experience, don’t put dieting in the center of your life. Just do it as a change in your life and don’t pay attention, just follow the set rules .
    if I focus on diet never goes easy for me.

    ❤ When I have a cereal craving I make my own using my favorite oatmeal cookie recipe and decrease the sugar amount to only 1/4 cup. Spread batter in cookie sheet about 1/" thick then bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes. Let cool completely then use pizza cutter or sharp knife to cut into bite size pizzes. Loosed from parxhment paper a little then bake on 175-200 for 3-4 hours flipping twice during that time. Alternatly can dehydrate in a dehydrator at 175 or highest setting. Add dehydrated fruit like raisins or cherries, or favorite nuts if desired.
    I do not think this cereal is good for keto diet though. My recipe is strictly gluten free.

    the last question was about guava, which is a fruit. It is not agave nectar. agave is a succulent plant, from arid climates. not sure if the answer given would apply to guava.

    • @robink812
      @robink812 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      He said "I think you're taking about agave nectar" sounds like he doesn't know what guava is or he got confused and swapped the words in his head. I've never had guava but I know it's a tropical fruit and tropical fruits are usually more nutrient dense. I'd eat it on keto, but I tend to handle fruit well.

    I don't take vitamin B12 supplements, but I am following a keto diet. During my recent physical, my vitamin B12 level came back at 1,800. Should I be concerned

    • @SpamMouse
      @SpamMouse 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      "B12 levels between 200 and 300 pg/mL are considered borderline, levels below 200 pg/mL are considered deficient.
      Normal values are 160 to 950 picograms per millilitre (pg/mL)
      An abnormally high vitamin B12 status is anything over 900 pg/mL ( This result may suggest liver or kidney problems, diabetes, or certain forms of leukaemia. )
      There is no upper limit (toxic level) for Vitamin B12 intake because consuming high levels does not cause problems."
      'Some' studies suggest a connection with some-cancers but did not prove any conclusion nor whether cause or effect.
      The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services has a good paper on Vitamin-B12
      If your diet is biased toward animal protein sources a higher B-12 would be expected. HTH

    • @Drberg
      @Drberg  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Here are the high potassium foods:
      1. Beet Tops-1300 mg
      2. Avocado-975 mg
      3. Lima beans-975 mg

      5. Squash-801 mg
      6. Salmon-839 mg
      7. Brussels Sprouts-504 mg
      Potatoes are high in potassium, but they’re not keto-friendly. Beans are high in carbs but also high in fiber. Some people can tolerate beans on keto as long as they keep their carbs between 20 and 50 grams per day.

    How to cure gastritis?

    • @Drberg
      @Drberg  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you have gastritis, your diet is crucial. You need to consume very high-quality foods, you need to cut out any junk, and you need to do intermittent fasting. Mastic gum may also help inhibit H. Pylori if you have an infection.
      A few more things you could do for gastritis:
      1. Take a probiotic
      2. Chew on raw black seeds
      3. Take zinc carnosine
      You may want to start by having more cabbage and broccoli sprouts. Gastritis can take months to heal. Once it has healed, then you could start to acidify the stomach with apple cider vinegar or betaine hydrochloride.

      Dr. Berg is just directing you to the type of supplement that may help so you can begin researching it."

    Office workers who don't get much sun in the US have the most melanomas. So maybe sun exposure is not the cause. In Scandinavian countries people who have basel cell and squamous skin cancer from sun exposure live ten years longer that other people. The carnivore diet allegedly increases sun exposure tolerance

      Low exposure means that the skin has not developed the ability to "cope" with sun exposure. Like the immune system without pathogens to train upon goes bad and causes auto-immune conditions.

    Oh wow. There are supplement capsules made of cellulose. Good to know it could be sawdust.

      I read a study that up to 15% sawdust can be added to a popular child's sweet without people noticing this additive.

    And why do we find melanoma where the sun doesn’t shine? (that is referring to the body where the sun does not shine.)

      Often cells go bad due to both direct (contact and exposure) and indirect (because of inflammation or circulation of chemicals for example) contact so if one's health is poor due to a bad diet, your body will be busy repairing important stuff while less important areas get missed by the cleaning crew and a cancer-cell can develop and grow a little community, when it build enough mass and you find it it's labelled a tumour and thus you "have cancer" where as in the real world you've had that cancer for years without knowing the lump was growing.

    How much fiber should a 73 year consume daily?

      Depends on your gut. If you have no gut problems, fiber won’t hurt you. But it is not necessary for a healthy diet. Let veggies and few berries be your fiber. He has a lot of videos on this issue. I had gut issues and when I quit my fiber got better!

      Various RDAs are published, 30g/day is suggested. Look at your normal diet averages over a week and adjust up/down if you feel you need to. HTH

      Medical doctors that have a sample of that liquid are best placed to carry out a test as to what it is and from where it comes. Hope the situation improves Jocelyn.
