Morganite is probably my most favorite of the gems. I love Rubies and find Tanzanite so very appealing and enchanting. Mandarin Garnet will suck me in at a glance but Morganite resides at the very top of my list. This stone is stunning!

My family did a lot of lapidary work, and I had some wonderful times. At one point, I looked into faceting, mostly because of my love of faceted gems. Never did, though and stayed with Opals. This was a wonderful and fascinating process to watch. The cut for this stone gave it life as you looked down into it. I was captured by the varied splashes of light generated by the facet angles of the pavilion. Lastly, the color. I've seen Morganite that are pink. This color is, in my opinion, much more stunning. Thanks for a view into faceting.

I'm totally new to this, so this is just my initial reaction to this video. I loved seeing the strange (to me) equipment and elaborate machinery. Most importantly, these were only used to assist a master craftsman. The human eye, mind and hand were in complete control. Kind of a philosophical opinion, I guess. But I absolutely marvel at the clarity and brilliance of the finished Morganite gem. Utter beauty from human hands.
