    ANOTHER TEST WOULD BE TO PUT 3 POUNDS IN THE BOTTLE...THEN LEAVE IT ON THE SCALE. THROTTLE UP AND SEE WHAT WEIGHT REMAINS ON THE SCALE. THE DIFFERENCE IS YOUR MAX LIFT WEIGHT!

    • @WyvernApalis
      @WyvernApalis 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Joshua Rodriguez the wind from the props will push on the scale though

    • @joshsun85
      @joshsun85 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Very true. Didn't think of that. The work around is to have the string at a length like 10 feet so it wot effect it. Also this brings up a good point... wouldn't the wind with the current set up effect the load as well?

    • @andgastvideo

    Nice vid!! Phew, could only imagine what your Mavic would need to have done to be in good refurbished condition LOL. Just got mine and am extremely PROTECTIVE over it and can’t even imagine doing the things you do to yours to mine but it helps with questions I had/have not to mention know what NOT to do. Haven’t even flown it yet until I watch more vids so I don’t have a heart attack and lose/damage mine. Subscribed 😌

    Awesome! Two ideas. Use a fish scale upside down as that will measure the exact pull.
    Secondly, I'd LOVE to see how it does if you loop the string through the feet and try to lift from "behind" the center of gravity.
    Awesome stuff though man.

    The Mavic's lift performance will change depending on your density altitude too. You might be able to lift a little more on a cold, dry day at sea level (assuming you're not already at sea level)

      corey bkguy
      I think it will do the opposite. I'm not an expert on this matter, but I think faster gears mean more speed and less power. If you look at a car, you can get a higher speed in second gear than in first gear, but the first gear will pull a higher total weight.
      I don't know if the gears in a drone will work in the same way tho, but I would definitely be interested to see an experiment on this subject.

    need lil drone fuselage- backpacks, or belly packs and solid affordable release mechanisms for deploying life saving payloads like first aid kits - water bottles, micro flotation device - life guards need to be able to use drones. I would think the pay for a life guard would go up with the induction of these wonderful tools into the world of first response.

    I've been thinking about getting one for light lifting around the house, like fetching my shoes from another room, or other light things when I don't want to get out of my chair, but even though this could apparently carry my shoes, it's SO loud that, living in apt. building, I think it might bother the neighbors. Sounds about as loud as a vacuum, so I guess I could run it for quick bursts during the day, which is all I'd need, but still.....so loud.
    I don't know much about these things, but I'm assuming there is a motor for each fan, and it would probably be quieter to have one motor and a belt drive to run all the fans. That might reduce the dB some. I wonder if anyone makes drones like that?

  • @tche68

    A far more faster and precise way to do it would be put a large weight, more than the mavic could handle over a scale, push "tare" on the scale and try to lift that wight with the drone progressively to full power. The reading of the scale at this moment will be the max lift force of the drone. Note this will not be the max the drone can carry.

    • @tche68
      @tche68 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you use a kitchen style scale and a short string to tie the weight, yes. Using a longer string, maybe. Or no if using a hook scale like this www.amazon.com/niceEshop-Digital-Fishing-Scale-Hanging/dp/B00JP8BG10/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&qid=1493742594&sr=8-20&keywords=hook+scale. In this case, set the scale to zero hanging without any wight apllied, and hang the scale upside down, to include itself weight in the final reading.
