Ahh! Love that you uploaded this book recommendation video too. n_n Noticed that we have a few overlaps on the recs too. Writing down the rest of your list on my "To-Read" list now!
Omg! Just saw your video & I love your recs!! Some are my faves too like The Four Agreements & Born a Crime 😸 thanks for sharing more books I can check out
@sarah Hi, "The power of Now" is written in a form of a Q&A and for me it was a bit all over the place, "New Earth" has the same ideas but it is written in a structured way and is more easy to understand
One of the things on my vision board for this year is a photo of rows and rows of books! I love to read, but haven't made time for it in so long. That's changing in 2019 - thanks for the suggestions! I already own a couple of the books on this list, just haven't gotten to them yet.
“When Breath Becomes Air” by Paul Kalanithi is incredible. It is very well written and gives you a view of mortality from a surgeon and cancer patient’s lens. I don’t think I’ve ever learnt more about life and death from a book.
This book is definitely going to get researched. That is one point of view we all try to ignore although we all have an expiration date. Thanks for the suggestion.
The most beautiful aspect of your personality is that although you're gaining massive popularity your voice gives the sense of being grounded. This is unlike to other TH-camrs. You'll always be one of my favorites. Love from India. ❤️🇮🇳
I’m a guy and TH-cam creator but I like your channel. I found you a year ago when I bought my 80D. Have the 6D Mk II now. Thanks for being an inspiration.
😭I’m your Japanese fan and not good at English.... 2019 my plan is enter university (oh even I am 23years old ), reading books you recommended in English or Chinese ❄️ I wish they can help me restart new life 🌸 Thanks for your sharing 😀
I am 33 and just now applying to university :). You are making a great and brave decision. Go after your dream, be inspired and make your dream life happen! You are not too old. Even if you were 53, it is not too late to change your life. Wishing you good luck and much good energy for 2019! 💐
I'm almost close to finishing "the untethered soul" and it has been mind-boggling! I love it and would love to see more videos from you regarding how to clear or detox your mind. Most of us (including myself) have so much noise in our head because of external factors in our life. It would be nice to learn more on that.
If you haven’t read The Alchemist yet, I highly recommend it!! Although it’s not in the category of ‘self help’, it has beautiful and eye-opening lessons! Great vid x
Hi Aileen, I just want to say that you are so inspiring and that you have encouraged me so mischievous to open up to the world and let new things come into my life. Thank you so much.
You are such an inspiration. I've just shared a video on how I use my journals, inspired by your video some time ago....such peace and calm on this channel. Joie ❣️🌿
I must say that I'm impressed by your channel. Good work! Are you on the Lavendaire Facebook page? She makes a "promo tuesday" when you can post well, promo stuuf. It could help you. If you are, sorry I don't remember seeing your post.
Thank you so much for this video. I usually feel depressed, lost and agitated about myself, but just listen about these books you recommend really open my eyes and give some hope to me. I will find time to read these books :D Love you and your beautiful and inspiring video🌸🌸🌸
I just picked up The War of Art today after watching your video, and I'm already 70 pages in! Feeling super inspired and ready to take on Resistance. Thanks for the recommendation, Aileen!
Hey this background with artificial light is amazing and adds more value to what u speak . By the way u r amazing creater, love ur voice as it uplifts me. Thumps up if ur aim is to develop a reading habit in 2019.
I feel sooo reassured that you had trouble going through Sapiens as well. I love it but the amount of information can be hard to process. Thanks a lot for your recommendations! I love these kind of videos. Keep being awesome xx
I’ve been following you for years now and just wanted to let you know I appreciate your content! You inspired me to make my own channel and follow my creative dreams ☺️💕
This month I am reading ikigai book And the year I met you trying to finish this novel because I started it year ago and I am back to finish it Thank you for your recommendation 💕💕
I notice that necklace and that hair! Look amazing on you... I was start to learn about the soul and the ego and this video pops up on my screen like the Universe says "here is for you." Thank you Aileen!!
2 of my reading faves: Travelling Light by Max Lucado The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up MANGA I loved listening to Alice in Wonderland narrated by Scarlett Johansson on Audible as well, I did not expect it to be so multidimensional with only one narrator! Another book I loved listening to recently was "Creative Quest" by Questlove. I am a multi-medium dabbler: I have had a history with music, writing, art, etc... so this book really spoke to me on unexpected levels.
@@lavendaire I tackled that one first before the books bc I knew that I could probably read through it quickly to understand the main concepts. So now I always recommend it when I know i'm recommending Konmari to people who are too lazy to read 😂
I'm starting this year with four agreements, just bought it two days ago! also reading kingdom of ash to satisfy my YA fantasy craving. Last year I read around 25 books because of uni but this year I'm aiming at 50 2019 MUST read for me: the four agreements 21 lessons for the 21st century anatomy of the spirit brief answers to the big questions lights is the new black AND thinking fast and slow. goodluck to everyone with their reading challenges 😊
Hi Lavendaire!!! Here are some books for you...The anatomy of Loneliness by Teal Swan,The Sculptor in the Sky by Teal Swan, How to be a Bawse by Lilly Singh, Love, Care, Trust & Respect by Natalie Lue, The Mastery of Love by Don Miguel Ruiz!!! Happy Reading!!! :)
Oh i missed you these days Aileen! I am just so happy to see you again with that fab haircut! And i can relate what you felt about feeling tired while reading Sapiens. Because last year i bought this book by seeing you recommending it and i went a few chapters i went aaggh i can never finish this anywhere soon! But i loved its contents really, the way our human society was developing. It was just unfolding so elegantly in that book. I have been wanting to finish it this year too. It was just really nice to find out you've been feeling the same i was regarding this book! Okay i just whote an assay :3 lots of Love Aileen!
One of the best books I read in 2018 was "The Forty Rules Of Love" by Elif Shafak. It's not romantic, but as you said in the video for the love category, it's about what the world needs more of. So I recommend you to read it. ❤️ The other one was "1984". It's just great, a dystopia describing a world that is similar to the world today. At first I was getting bored, but the second half made me so engaged and fascinated!
I suggest the book, "Lagom" by Linnea Dunne ✨✨ Lagom roughly translated from Swedish means, "not too little, not too much, just right" Lagom specifically talk about how to create balance in one's life. It introduces a new way of balanced living and provides solutions on how to juggle everyday priorities, reduce stress, eat well and save money. As a fellow Libra, I guess this book will be an interesting read for you! ✨ Love you Aileen! Keep Shining! And btw, I will definitely miss this set-up!! 😭❤️❤️
Aileen, on your recommendation read the four agreements, finally finished the second part too - the four agreements companion. Thank you for recommendations. There are so many changes that two books brought. Thanx a ton, looking forward to your recommendations for this year. 😘
I am still a student in my last semester of uni. I returned back to uni after quitting due to an incident ..and I can't believe I'll be done soon with a major in psychology! After I am done uni I will continue reading especially books related to the discipline and to self improvement as my goal in life is to help others through life coaching! your book recommendation is fantastic and I will get back to it :) May you have a clutter free life
Hi Aileen, please do a budgetting videos (how to keep track on your expenses etc) 🙏🏻💕 I know you talked about finance in some videos but I need more financial videos from you! Thank you so much 😘
Thank you for the recommendations, I’m definitely going to look into these different type of books. I love that you gave a little intro to what each book entails. “New earth” will most likely be my first book I’m going to read. Thank you again, can’t wait for the next video
I would love to have those books you’ve mentioned Aileen because there are some things that I want to explore more about life, about business and also for my inner self as well especially for this year 2019. Thanks for sharing this, Aileen!
I love this new look on you, and also, love this topic! 💖 I'm excited to check out the books you suggested. A suggestion back at you-- if you haven't already read Brene Brown she's great! She had some great insights to the shame talk in our minds. The only one I wouldn't recommend is "I Thought it was just me, but it isn't" only because it's more geared to a specific demographic which is mothers with weight concerns. Happy readings!✨
My goal for 2019 is reading at least 2 books a month! I am currently reading Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert ✨ my fav self-help personal growth book so far is Sacred Powers by Davidji ❤️
Roberta Lipari oh my god I just finished reading Big Magic today I really liked it. The author has a great sense of humor and she kept it 100% real she didn’t sugar coat the creativity world.
violet flower Indeed! It’s not so easy to talk about creativity but I think this book is so practical and down to earth! I cannot wait to keep reading it until the end! ❤️
I have the same goal and I'm currently reading the same book!! 😂 I started reading it in December and dropped it for a while. So far I've already finished my first 2 full books for January--The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo, and The Four Tendencies by Gretchen Rubin. Hoping to finish what I had left of Big Magic by the end of the month :)
Thank you so much for your good recommendation. You are always there to inspire us. I have social anxiety which is like a trap for my life. I want to challenge with my social anxiety but don't know how. I need a book recommendations for my social anxiety, thank u.
I love exploring some new books. My reading list is long, but I'll add these books too. 🤗 A new earth is so far my favorite, such an eye-opener. I'm reading Sapiens at the moment. Thanks for sharing 😘
I want to build reading habits too! Recently i realized that i don't know what to do in my life and feel so empty. I don't have goal, sometimes i get easily motivated but also easily get lazy. I really want to read books u mentioned! But english is not my mother language n it's pretty hard for me to understand😅 wish me luck😍
I set a goal to read more books this year. 15 to be exact, but we'll see how that goes haha I just sat down to start making a list of books when I got a notification for this video. How do you always know?!?!
Soul : The untethered soul A new earth Business : Crushing it Love : ( it's not about romance and all ) A return to love The wisdom of Sundays Creativity : The war of art The artist's journey Society and culture : ( it's interesting ) Sapiens
Thanks for your suggestions Aileen! I'm definitely adding some to my own TBR :D I'd suggest you to read "The 4 agreements" and/or "The mastery of love" by Don Miguel Ruiz, his vision about life and how we should see love was quite eye-opening to me. They are short books, but I haven't listen to the audiobooks, so I don't know the quality of the versions available on Audible :P
Hi Aileen, I recently found your channel. Human aspect of connecting through books and seeing your videos just brings down so much of warmth at heart. Would you recommend me books on how to create or finding meaning in life? Or books on personal growth? Xx
I’m trying to implement more of what is good for me I love reading it’s fallen a bit since having children but it does me the world of good so I’m making time each day for it x
I have many unfinished books such as Harry Potter and other books 😅😅 but i'm very inspired by your book suggestions 😍😍 in particular, I would like to read the two books about love ❤❤
Not sure if anyone else has said this, but I just wanted to mention, if you really want to read/listen to more books but are on a tight budget and can't afford to buy them - check out your local library! Not only can you borrow books and audio books for free, but most libraries now offer ebooks and digital audiobooks for loan too :)
Thank you so much for the book recommendations ;) I read alot, and have been a slump lately to find a book that is special ... there are a few you mentioned that I haven't read and have already ordered them while listening to you lol. Donna from Canada
I don't know if you've read it yet but I definitely recommend A History of the World in 6 Glasses by Tom Standage. It was a very good read that was very entertaining. It splits global history into periods defined by the most popular/revolutionary beverage.
I don't really have time to read nowadays due to my Final semester of school, but I'm slowly reading Pride and Prejudice!! I can't wait to read again after my final exam in February 😛
Thank you Alieen! ☺️I’m gonna add these to my to read list! I’m like you with two books at once. I read a fun to read book (my favorite genre is teen novels) and a to learn book. ☺️
I’d say there’s like 3 books you have mentioned that I have not read yet. The rest I have enjoyed as much. I’d add Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert and Shoe Dog by Phil Knight. :)
1. Soul(soul category) 2. A New Earth(soul category) 3. Crushing It( for business ) 4. A Return to Love(love not romantic) 5. The Wisdom of Sundays(still love) 6. The War of Art(creativity) 7. Sapiens (society and culture)
Thank you for the book recommendations Aileen! I will check them out! I like your "Aileen" necklace, it looks so nice and elegant! :) I hope that you are doing well and getting ready with the moving, good luck with that!
Amazing list! Thank you so much. I've only read one book on this list - unsurprisingly, the War of Art, since you and others recommend it so often. So now I know where to go back when I don't know what to read. I've read most of your recommendations in the artist of life workbook and they were all great. My favorite book that I recommend you is the Code of the Extraordinary Mind by Vishen Lakhiani. It's a very intense, value-packed book with many great ideas in it. I also recommend all the books by Gabby Bernstein, The Universe has your Back being my favorite so far. I can't wait to read Superattractor which she'll publish in 2019. Side question: B-school is coming up. Are you joining in this new round?
Please recommend books for teenagers or about how to cop up with stress, anxiety or about personal growth or any book which can help us in improving ourselves and be the best version of it.
If you like books on the history of humanity, Susan Wise Bauer has a series. So far, she has, The History of the Ancient World, The History of the Medieval World, and The History of the Renaissance World. They are pretty big, but she writes in a narrative style (as opposed to an academic style) that keeps your attention.

Thanks for your suggestions Aileen! I'm definitely adding some to my own TBR :D
I'd suggest you to read "The 4 agreements" and/or "The mastery of love" by Don Miguel Ruiz, his vision about life and how we should see love was quite eye-opening to me. They are short books, but I haven't listen to the audiobooks, so I don't know the quality of the versions available on Audible :P
That’s one of my favorite books!!
The haircut!!! Absolutely beautiful 💖😍
Linda Thao I love the color!!
Masha Allah you look very pretty ❤️
Thank you so much for the book recommendations ;) I read alot, and have been a slump lately to find a book that is special ... there are a few you mentioned that I haven't read and have already ordered them while listening to you lol. Donna from Canada
Thank you! One my favourite books that I’d recommend : The Go-Giver by Bob Burg 😊 an unputdownable little fable about business
The wisdom of Sunday’s I have hardcopy and LOVE it!!!
Love your channel and podcast! Your channel has helped me to set a more positive habits and develop a positive mindset. 💕💕
Hello... I like so much this video! I have a lots of books to read this year. Thanks for your racomandations. 💖
I’d say there’s like 3 books you have mentioned that I have not read yet. The rest I have enjoyed as much. I’d add Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert and Shoe Dog by Phil Knight. :)
1. Soul(soul category)
2. A New Earth(soul category)
3. Crushing It( for business )
4. A Return to Love(love not romantic)
5. The Wisdom of Sundays(still love)
6. The War of Art(creativity)
7. Sapiens (society and culture)
Thank you for the great recommendations!! I'm adding a bunch of them to my to-read list ^^
I've been having a rough time recently 😅 I didn't know I needed this video until I watched it. Thank you 💜💜
I love seeing book recommendations. Please make this kind of videos a lot!
Thank you for the book recommendations Aileen! I will check them out! I like your "Aileen" necklace, it looks so nice and elegant! :) I hope that you are doing well and getting ready with the moving, good luck with that!
A New Earth completely changed my life ❤
Oh a video from you!💖 Always a nice surprise 💞
I'm so excited to read these books! BTW your hair looks fabulous!
Beautiful recommendations, loved the categories! 🌸
Love this different categories of books to read.
Please recommend books for teenagers or about how to cop up with stress, anxiety or about personal growth or any book which can help us in improving ourselves and be the best version of it.
Thanks much. I was just searching for my next book on audible
Love you! Thank you so much for this video! I love your book recommendations
You should read "13 things mentally strong people don't do" by Amy Morin. It's such a great book, she also has a ted talk about this.
My all time favorite self-help book is Forgive For Good by Frederic Luskin. I highly recommend it.
i finished reading sapiens...thank u for the suggestions
