The bullet wont stay in the neck with a neck die on 2nd or 3rd reload. A pair of Warner dies are $1500. Ive got 3 sets. John Whidden at Whidden Gun Works makes custom dies for $480.00 a set On fire forming brass use 15% less powder the Full charge.
I ordered directly from Garmin International. There is no difference in prices. Web site stated 4-6 weks delay. Ordered Dec. 5 and arrived at front door, Jan 2. As promised.......
Why not just full length size and bump 2 thousands that way it fits? For me I sized lapua 6.5 Creedmoor brass 20 times and the primer pocket gets so loose the primer falls out I wish I could shoot brass for ever
always wait until the brass won't chamber, or easily, until you even think about bumping the shoulder back. if you bump it back before that happens, you could actually be "bumping" it back much more than just 2 thou, maybe 4-6 thou. if you are unsure how much further you have to go, add scotch tape one layer at a time to the case head until it won't chamber anymore, then take a measurement to see what the max headspace is.
I see that but world fclass shooters don't just neck size they bump every time according to them and me as well. I never seen a advantage only neck sizing I used to only neck size that's until I went to the range and I couldn't chamber because the case got to big. But that's what we do if you have better results for you by only neck sizing thats awesome
@@kyley808 Just because you full length resize your brass, doesn't mean you have to bump the shoulders right away. If you leave the die backed out some you won't touch the shoulder but you still size the neck and the body some. Once you can't chamber, then screw the die down until you start touching the shoulder. You also need to remember, these world class F class shooters use the same custom reamers every time and go through many many barrels. They know exactly what measurement they need to be 2 thou off the shoulder inside the chamber. When you are starting fresh you need to take your time until you know exactly when you need to start bumping your shoulders. I can guarantee you that these world class shooters aren't just mindlessly bumping their brass back 2 thou off a piece of once fired brass without knowing their true headspace. With that being said, sometimes guns shoot better with more headspace, 3,4, even 5 thou of bump. Not good for case longevity, but competitive shooters don't care too much about long case life if it means better performance.
Yes when I start with a new barrel i take out the ejector and extractor and slowly bump till the bolt drops freely that's the bump I will do every time. I do that and I can resize my 6.5 Creedmoor brass at least 20 times before my primer pockets get loose. You also can use a forster bump neck die that die doesn't touch the shoulders and you can use different bushing to get different neck tension. Have a good day
Great info. thank you, Soren

Dear Sir - Larry Potterfield is a staunch NRA supporter. I like MidWayUSA. Thanks.
How you gonna shrink the neck to get tight tension for another firing if you aren't putting it back in the die?
