The Departed, Wolf of Wall Street, Killers of the Flower Moon, Shutter Island (directed by Martin Scorsese) Django Unchained, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (directed by Tarantino) The Revenant (directed by Alejandro Iñarritu) is also quite good. And all of these movies will make for a great reaction video!! Esp. the Scorsese ones and Django Unchained.
It is a crime that this is your first Leo movie.. No Titanic???? Ya'll need to watch Inception, Shutter Island, Django Unchained, THE WOLF OF WALLSTREET!!!!
51:24 And that is the difference between "Based on a true story" and "INSPIRED BY a true story" which is what the film actually claimed as Eric made note of @ 1:28
It's true, this is a story he really claimed happened, even though it was all easily disproven. In his defense, there is no way he could have predicted that the internet would make it easy to search public records of the time he was in jail while this was supposedly happening.
The calls he made to Karl are we he got caught the 1st one he gave up he’s from NY and the 2nd one he gave up he’s getting married so he’d still have the same name
It not Fake Sarah,, some detail were changed but the overal theme is true as told by the real Abagnale Co pilot, Dr , Lawyer. Was captured in France by someone who saw his picture and reported it. Never mentioned Hanratty though. I watched his interview on Carson.
Yeh apparently this isnt even a real story, the actual con WAS this story and it never happened haha Not sure how accurate it is but I've been seeing this in several comment sections and I havent bothered to research it myself
Yes, most of his claims is a complete fabrication, as you can see from Abagnale's Wikipedia page. A book came out in 2020 I believe, that went deep into his stories. The movie is good, no doubt, great acting and directing, but the audience basically had been swindled not once but twice ...
Leo dicaprio movies are all over the place for me I have always said I’m not a fan of his but then I watch something like catch me if you can, the departed and wolf of Wall Street then I think oh yeah he’s made some of the most fun movies of all time.
@@notimportant3686 I don't think that's true at all. A number of his characters are charming, sure. But he's played wildly different characters. William Costigan (The Departed) is different from Ernest Burkhart (Killers of the Flower Moon), is different from Calvin Candie (Django Unchained) is different from Jordan Belfort (Wolf of Wall Street), is different from. Hugh Glass (The Revenant)
@@SidPhoenix2211 he's played different characters but he's always been the same, he moves the same, makes the same facial expressions, expresses his tone of voice the same exact way, it's always just himself
Most of this movie is fiction. Abagnale made up a bunch of things in his book that did not happen to make himself look cooler ( there was no FBI task force chasing him, he did not make an enormous sum from fake checks, he did not work with the FBI after prison for example ).
Frank Abagnale Jr. was interviewed on Johnny Carson. Worth watching. His story was as airtight as this movie (made years later). I don’t know if it’s a true story or if it was the long-con. Request: The Grifters Glengarry Glen Ross The Sting 🎉🎉🎉
Holyyy shieeettt this is one of my all time favorite movies!! I cant believe you havent seen it and I CANT BELIEVE you havent seen a Leo film before!?!? You guys NEED to check out The Revenant!!! It's RDR2 level of quality
Another movie I recommend with a real story kind of like this one is "I love you Phillip Morris". It's with Jim Carrey in the lead role of the con man Steven Russel and Ewan McGregor plays Phillip Morris.
I’ll suggest something that doesn’t involve Leonardo DiCaprio. Y’all should check out the cinematic masterpiece LA Confidential. One of the few perfect films I’ve ever seen.
If you like this movie you should check out the series White Collar starring Tim DeKay & Matt Bomer. It's loosely based on this (in the series he's an art fraud instead of a check fraud) and set in present day. Excellent show!
Watch these LEO movies if not already 1.What's Eating Gilbert Grape 2.The Quick And The Dead 3.The Man In The Iron Mask 4.Gangs Of New York 5.The Aviator 6.Inception 7.The Wolf Of Wall Street 8.The Revenant 9.Once Upon A Time In Hollywood
Hans Zimmer is much better at scoring action movies. He can't make emotional melodies like John Williams. Actually the old Dune movie from the 80s has better music and production design and surreal imaginative visuals. Villeneuve is too visually grounded.
Can you two please react to Dazed and Confused and Boogie Nights? You will love both of them. Great films from the 90s that are set in the 70s. Both also have great casts.
Hanratty wasn't a real person. It makes the movie more dynamic to have a single guy after Frank the whole time. In real life it was just the FBI as a whole.
What are some of YOUR favorite Leonardo DiCaprio films? Sarah's got some catching up to do!
The Departed, Wolf of Wall Street, Killers of the Flower Moon, Shutter Island (directed by Martin Scorsese)
Django Unchained, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (directed by Tarantino)
The Revenant (directed by Alejandro Iñarritu) is also quite good.

The quick and the dead..
Titanic, yes its a good Movie.@@SidPhoenix2211
The Beach, Blood Diamond, and The Aviator are all great
The Titanic, Gilbert Grape, The Departed, Shutter Island and Inception are some of my favorites.
This is my favourite John Williams score. Criminally underrated!
LITERALLY criminally underrated! Because it’s a crime film…I’ll see myself out - Eric
I’m surprised y’all didn’t know that back then pilots were idolized. Even to this day, pilot is still considering as one of those “high class” job.
"Two MICE." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
They “overpayed” on the car. His fathers hustle absolutely worked in their favor…
"Fake It 'Til Ya Make It" the Movie
Thumbs up for the cometary afterwards. I love when people actually look into the like bts stuff

Honestly sounds like the second best con he's ever committed 😂
@@silentassason right? The movie and book are a con. Who wouldn’t suspect it?
Idk if it needed to be said. But im glad you came back after that year away.
First movie with amy adams i ever saw. Even as a kid i was smithen.
This is a fascinating movie, but Frank's "story" is just that. He made it all up.
Including the fictional character Carl Hanratty, the real FBI agents name was Jack Shea.
@Fred-vy1hm I think hanratty is a combo of a few different agents.
The calls he made to Karl are we he got caught the 1st one he gave up he’s from NY and the 2nd one he gave up he’s getting married so he’d still have the same name

He still works for the FBI
*All Leo films are great tbh. I really liked him in “The Departed”*
I think you mean, "The Depahted"
@@SidPhoenix2211 😂😂😂 ur so right
Basketball Diaries is still my fave
I watch this movie every year around Christmas.
The best part is the real Abignal won't confirm what all is real or not real beyond what's been actually proven 😂😂 he's still conning everyone

I, too, would lie about being a doctor to impress Amy Adams 😳 lol
Great reaction! 👍🏿
Yes!! Good pick ,Good react. 👍 Cant go wrong with a Leo flick.....Try 2006 "Blood Diamond"

Was a fun thought for awhile. :)
all movies with dicaprio are good or great. one of my favorite is wolf of wallstreet
Can’t wait for more!!
Yeah….this guy is one more mess…..😂😅
Insane based on a true story about Frank abagnale Junior
Hanratty wasn't a real person. It makes the movie more dynamic to have a single guy after Frank the whole time. In real life it was just the FBI as a whole.
Inception next
You never watched Titanic? You HAVE to! :O
Awesome reaction/ can you please watch a movie called LADDER 49.
A lot of his lies were not premeditated...they were improvised
