IDK how much of this Story is True, but I too Believe that it's really Possible. Recommendation for Tom Hanks: Classic Comedy known as "The 'Burbs." Put that Movie on any Poll, and the Votes Will Come...👌
The answer to that question is No!, he fabricated most of the events. There’s a documentary you can view on TH-cam regarding the accuracy of his stories, having said that it’s a great film and his public speeches are very entertaining. One of my all time favourite films The Burbs.
It's absolutley true! I linked a segment of the old Johnny Carson Show to my comment above where Frank Abagnale appears on Carson and discusses some fascinating true encounters and life details. Enjoy!
Such a good movie with a great cast and this is some of Leo’s best work. Also fun fact, the officer who arrests Frank and escorts him to the car when he gets caught is the real Frank Abegnale.
Despite being billed as a true story, there has lately been a LOT of suggestion that Abagnale exaggerated most of his stories and was more of a petty crook than he made out. BUT, that still makes him a damn good con man, because if nothing else he managed to convince once of the best directors in movie history to tell his story.
THIS is why you are an ACE reviewer Jen as you, instinctively, know the most significant bits to show in detail like their first meeting at the "crime scene" and, especially,at the end when the other F B I Officer turns up when Frank is late and the disappointment of Handratty then turning to relief and delight that je DID return,
The opening scene was combined with some footage of an actual game show, To Tell the Truth, from an episode that aired in 1977. The basic premise of the show was that there were three people all claiming to be the same person. A statement written by that person was read by the host, and a panel of four celebrities would question the contestants to try and figure out who the real one is. After the panel votes, the host says "Will the real (person's name) please stand up?". As for the actual Frank Abagnale, it's been called into question in more recent years as to whether he actually did some of the things he claimed to have done in his book.
There are some of those shows like To Tell the Truth on TH-cam. There's one from I've Got a Secret of an old man who witnessed Lincoln's assassination.

Frank Abagnale claimed that you could take the bar exam in Louisiana as often as you wanted, and so he went there again and again until he passed. But apparently, there is no record of him (or any of his aliases) ever passing the Louisiana bar exam.
The combination of John Williams and Steven Spielberg equals greatness. Also Christopher Walken is top notch in just about everything he stars in. I recommend this one!
I agree. In every movie! Jen, if you're reading this: are you a musician? Or just a music lover! I think this is one of John Williams' best scores. "Close Encounters" is still my favorite score of his......but the music is a plot point in that movie! So it's not really fair to compare it, but other than that, I think this is my favorite score from him that isn't Jaws or Star Wars. (I remember being 9, watching Superman and thinking......he's ripping off himself!😄 He's ripping off himself ripping off Mahler!🤣)
Perhaps others have commented: The opening credits and music are a take on Alfred Hitchcock’s opening to North by Northwest… designed by Saul Bass with music by Bernard Herrmann.
This movie came out when I was 12 and suddenly I was an aspiring conwoman, dreaming of a luxurious high-stakes life on the run. My partner and I frequently say "Why didn't I just concur?!" to each other all the time, haha!
@@jenmurrayxo the issue is that all of those adventures he "had" were made up. He was a con man, but being a fake doctor, then lawyer, sleeping with the model/prostitute and fake airline piloting all over america, was all made up by him.
Such an underrated movie. It's essentially a coming of age film. Frank is a kid who idolizes his father and clings to the childish fantasy of his family reuniting. He lives in glamor and denial while constantly running away from reality. He falls for Brenda because of her childish innocence, but that dream is shattered. Hanratty, meanwhile, is an alternate father figure, unglamorous and uncharming but steadfast, honest, and holding Frank accountable. The ending is bittersweet; Frank is disillusioned but finally grows up. Christopher Walken is incredible in this and his character never fails to make me cry.
Tom Hanks movies to watch - Philadelphia, Saving Private Ryan, The Green Mile, The Terminal, Big, Captain Phillips, A League of Their Own, Apollo 13, Bridge of Spies, The Post, and That Thing You Do. Even his bad movies are still pretty great.
I read the book after seeing the movie, and loved them both. One interesting anecdote in the book was when he was living in the posh house as a doctor, he had a doctor neighbor who would always chat him up about medical topics that Frank couldn't answer. So Frank started reading medical journal articles on obscure topics that he knew his neighbor wouldn't know about. It worked, and the neighbor started avoiding him altogether.
Jen I wanted to tell you- you’re one of my absolute favorite reactors. So many people have jumped on this bandwagon and so many just try WAY TOO HARD- they pause the movie and insert jokes, go way over the top, try to turn the thing into their own standup show, or worse yet, talk thru the whole movie, trying to figure out where they’ve seen the actors / actresses before….. Would LOVE to see the effect the music in 'That Thing You Do' has on you if you've never seen it... Not just co-starring but written and directed by Tom Hanks!
This movie has aged as well as anything Spielberg ever made; it so nails Frank's yearning for a father figure that will steer him right instead of wrong. Totally echo recommendations for "That Thing You Do!" Such a sweet, joyful 60's vibe and fantastic music, Tom Hanks is in a supporting role but since he's also the writer and director the whole movie feels very Tom Hanksy. You would also love him in "A League of Their Own."
FYI it's based of the *claims* that Frank Abagnale made... Over the years more and more holes in his stories have been discovered so I'd take "based on real events" with a big fat grain of salt
The Terminal. Tom Hanks. Steven Spielberg. John Williams. So maybe its not quite as good a movie as this one but IMO its way underrated. Fun movie and would make for excellent react.
Apollo 13, Charlie Wilsons War, Saving Mr. Banks, A beautiful Day in the Neighbor Hood, are all movies where Tom Hanks plays characters based on a true story. He has quite a lot of based on a true story movies.
Spielberg told Amy Adams, “Imagine you’ve been starving in the desert for a week…” then pointed to Leo’s head saying, “…and his head is a cheeseburger.” The result is what you see.
My dad flew for Pan Am in the 70s and heard stories about this guy. Abagnale NEVER flew on Pan Am because of the risk of having to relieve one of the pilots. It's called 'Deadheading". Also , even though Pan Am employed 100s of pilots, everybody knew or heard of somebody. He would have been Busted before the plane left the ground.
The screenplay is very faithful to the "autobiography" Unfortunately the autobiography has been completely debunked as a work of fiction. Turns out the greatest con Frank Abignaile ever pulled was inventing his own life story. Still a great movie though.
If you ever need a place to hide out while you’re on the lam, Jen, let me know. You’re always welcome. Two more great Spielberg/Hanks movies are The Terminal and Saving Private Ryan.
Fun experiment, Jen - wear a plain brown vest (fisherman's, safari, photographer's, etc) into any shop and i guarantee someone will automatically think youre an employee. My vest is covered in Disney pins, yet I've been mistaken for a Goodwill cashier, Home Depot clerk, grocery store manager, museum tour guide, and even a Boy Scout leader. I wasnt even TRYING to fool anyone, yet i could slip into any business and instantly blend in thanks to how people react to a vest.
Another great review Jen. Villain Jen is lots o fun. Two more movies to help your crime career are Charade and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. One is chasing hidden stacks of cash, and the other is a great con man teaching and competing with a less polished con man. Plus you might find some of the actors good looking.
I should have added that Hitchcock is great for people going on the lam. The 39 Steps, North By Northwest, To Catch a Thief, The Man Who Knew Too Much, Strangers on a Train, Saboteur, Shadow of a Doubt, Frenzy, and a few others have at least elements of that theme.
One of my favourite Tom Hanks movies is The Terminal from 2004. He plays a foreigner flying into the US gets stopped at the airport through no fault of his own and the movie goes on from there. Would love to see you react to it as it gives a full mix of emotions both good and bad, is part drama, part romance and definitely part comedy. Overall a feel good Tom Hanks movie.
I can't remember if you've seen some of these so sorry if I repeat, but here are some other Tom Hanks movies to check out: Apollo 13, Saving Private Ryan, A League of Their Own, Big, Saving Mr. Banks, Sully, That Thing You Do!, The Terminal
Here’s a list of other Tom Hanks movies you should check out, Jen: -A League of Their Own -Big -Cast Away -Elvis (2022) -Larry Crowne -Saving Mr. Banks -Sleepless in Seattle -Toy Story (1-4) -You’ve Got Mail
Hey Jen, what career do you want. You want to be a pilot. DONE. You want to be a Doctor. DONE. You want to be a state prosecutor. Let see how we can make that happen. I just love how Frank would just find a way to do whatever he wanted.
For movies to watch based solely on John Williams score, I recommend Memoirs of a Geisha and Far and Away. The movies are just OK, but Williams music, especially for Far and Away, is outstanding.
Thank you. The beginning credits animation is reminiscent of a lot of fifties and sixties heist movie credits animations. The music is also very in genre. As for Tom Hanks movies, "Philadelphia" (1993) it was pretty much his first real serious straight role. Without Philadelphia Tom Hanks might still be the comic actor he started out as. The girl you asked about is Jennifer Garner, she starred in an espionage TV Series "Alias".
Hey Jen, as your rightly picked up, what toook this movie to the next level is the John Williams score. I often find myself walking around the house singing the mischievous Obo riff when I am doing something mischievous. I am not a criminal, but we all do something naughty every now and then. HA ------- Why not have a soundtrack to my own person life. I DESERVE IT. And so do you Jen , SO DO YOU.
0:56 this is so cinematic! 1:03 music by John Williams, the GOAT! 💪 1:47 what?! 4:32 I guess con men could be nice. I mean they they would have to be. They have to be charming and friendly. 6:30 he's right 7:23 lady for frig's sake's. At the very least don't cheat in your own house when you know your son is coming home soon. Like God, go out, if you must. 9:10 sees a pilot. Living the dream with the ladies. 9:56 I gotta switch on my, my villain. I'm learning so much now. 10:06 ow. I mean that is a smart looking uniform. 10:54 yeah yeah villain Jen has been switched on here. I am getting giddy from the conning. 11:25 is that the girl from Grey's Anatomy? 11:42 milk 😂 12:05 oh Frank 😊 12:09 look at all these Benjamins. They're all Benjamins to me. 13:51 champagne 🥂 16:40 hey-o, James Bond. 16:44 I love James Bond. (And we ❤ Jennypenny) 17:05 oh my God, he wants to be James Bond. Respect! Yes! 17:12 speaking of Bond, enter sexy lady. 18:18 you ruined his load! 😂 19:04 ahhh. Oh now I have to get a donut after this. 25:06 I'd just watch a bunch of Ally McBeal. 27:38 holy 💵 STACKS and STACKS 💵 27:42 a year and a half? 16? 27:53 she's not gonna go with you man, you gotta go. 28:28 poor Brenda. I don't think she's gonna make it to the airport. 28:54 well what'd you expect man? She just got her braces off! 😂 29:24 did he just pick the most beautiful ones? 29:32 that'll get him past security with no ticket. And nobody will be looking at him, they'll be looking at the girls. 35:19 oh my God. Yes. How? Tell us. Tell us. Tell us.
Lots of great Tom Hanks films you could check out. Tom Hanks gives one of his best performances in Cast Away (2000) and Road to Perdition (2002). Another Hanks and Spielberg collaboration is The Post (2017) with Meryl Street. And pretty much every Spielberg film has utilized John Williams music. I would say some great Williams music is in Spielberg’s A.I. (2001), Oliver Stone’s JFK (1991), and two Tom Cruise films: War of the Worlds (2005) and Born on the Fourth of July (1989)
For a not obvious Tom Hanks movie choice I'd say his earlier comedy movies are worth a look. Dragnet and Bachelor Party are criminally overlooked as examples of how hilarious young Tom Hanks was and still can be when given the chance
Along with the book Frank wrote, I also suggest the book "The Greatest Hoax on Earth: Catching Truth, While We Can" by Alan Logan. Basically, a lot of the story Frank wrote is complete fiction. Ironically, he is one of the biggest conmen, but for different reasons than presented in his story.
You absolutely must read the book. It includes so many more cons that weren't included in the film including the time he conned his own way out of prison. The guards literally opened the doors for him 😂
Another great Tom Hanks movie: “THE TERMINAL “ Neat!! He comes to America and while he’s here his homeland gets taken over and he can’t leave the American Airport!! Cute cast including Catherine Zeta Jones and Stanley Tucci!! Funny things happen in the airport sweet things too!!!
Yes please! Everyone forgets about this one but its also Spielberg and John Williams too. Great, funny, heart warmer you'd think it would have more TH-cam reacts??
I saw this at the theater when I was having serious stress troubles in life. I barely remember anything about it. I remember Elizabeth Banks flirting with DiCaprio, I remember the music montage with the guns in the hands going back and forth, and "You don't have anyone else to call", and not much else.
"This is such a cool opening!" It's very retro. For another retro gem - Down With Love, a quirky romantic comedy with Ewan McGregor and Rene Zellweger.
Martin Sheen (as the father in law to be) has many movies. E.g. with his son Charlie in Wall Street (Michael Douglas as the iconic Gordon Gekko) and as the lead in Apocalypse Now. Both worthy of review. Plus, along side Christopher Walken in The Dead Zone.
Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprico may be the main stars, but Christopher Walken stole the show, as per usual. His Oscar Nomination was very well deserved. 😎👏🏾
CW needs mere seconds in a film to be the most iconic character in it - he's done it so many times it's unreal. But nothing will ever top True Romance.
There was actually a greater imposter than Abagnale. That even did surgery on a Canadian Hospital shipsuring the Korean war. It was a basis for a book and a movie. The Great Imposter with Tony Curtis
Such a fun movie, the way Leo foils TM Hanks is hilarious. And yes, he did go on TO TELL THE TRUTH. GSN aired the episode right about the time the movie came out...side note, I always loved the music from the 1970's version of that show...so catchy
Hey Jen, your reaction was so awesome. I knew this movie would be right up your alley. ------- A mix of action, entertainment, anxiety, Heist, and chase scenes. -------- So hilarious to watch you twist and turn throughout this movie. Until you finally accepted the madness and went with it. -------- Sadly some will go to unprecedented lengths to achieve that dream and that's where Frank got the lessons of life. "The Yankees always win because they are wearing the pinstripes."
Hi Jen! Commenting on your question what to watch in Tomn Hanks movies. You must react to Road to Perdition. The story reolves around gangsters in the 1920s and 1940s. This movie is based off of a graphic novel and directed by Sam Mendes. In my opinion, it is Tom Hanks' most underated movie. Road to Perdition is also the last project of M. Paul Newman. Don't forget about Hanks' early work ; The Money Pit, The Burbs, Big
Hey Jen, I hum this muci every once in a while as well. It's so infectious. The music and the opening grahpic is a nod to the works of Saul Bass who was the first to make graphic open movie titlesa and fim posters. I think he made them for many film noir flicks including many by Alfred Hitchcock, including Vertigo, North by North West, Anatomy of a Murder.
I will suggest the early ones - when he was a comedian -> Big is a must, but also the Man with One Red Shoe, Joe vs. the Volcano , Volunteers and the Money Pit.This was before he could pick great movies and it is fun to excel in the lesser roles. All are good because of him and a couple are pretty great
The end credits said that he retired with his wife in the Midwest. I can confirm that. My wife used to work at a speakers bureau as a booking agent. He was one of her clients. She told me that he is the most charismatic man she’s ever met
There is a great Frank lecture on TH-cam that he gave at Google, I believe. Either way, he tells his history and it's intriguing, just amazing. This film made me a Leo fan.
A Leo movie that I think is often forgotten is 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape'. I personally think Leo did a fantastic job here, especially when he was so young at the time! May even have been his first movie?
10:50 - Frank Abagnale himself once said in a lecture that it is much easier to con today than when he did it. With the internet as a huge source of knowledge and everything being digital, basically all you have to do is be good at Photoshop.
One of my favorite movies! I saw it at the theater but the fire alarm went off and we had to leave the theater! Not to worry the theater was fine, but we still had to leave! So I went to another that same night and I finally got to watch it in full 😄
Hey Jen, Just like Carl said at the end, "living the lie is so much better than living the truth." -------- So many of us face this truth on a daily basis, but we're not good at stealing. -------- So we watch TV, or IG about rich people, or go to fancy hotels or restaurants to get a taste of the billionaire life. -------- In the end all the really matter is love and family.
The book is great, I recommend you read it. He passed the bar because he checked every test paper for the previous ten years and memorised the most common questions. The guys that pull this sort of thing are highly intelligent come from well off families and tens to be only children. I read another book about con artists and there was one guy who got a post in the navy during the korean war as a doctor on a ship. He performed surgery on wounded sailors and saved their lives when caught and asked how he performed suregy he said "I read a book" he was invited to the ships reunion years later as he saved some people of the sailors life's. In that same book there was a story of another man in Prussia in like the 1870s, he was a beggar and too keep warm he bought an old military officers coat from a 2nd hand store and he noticed when he was wearing it people gave him respect. Eventually he walked into a barracks convinced people the officer in charge of the soldiers wages was corrupt had him taken into custody and took possession of the soldiers wages and walked out the barracks with a fortune.
I think this is one of Spielberg’s best films. I also love John Williams’ score. This music was very much influenced by Henry Mancini, who is also great. As for another Tom Hanks movie, the one he made right before Catch Me. The Road to Perdition. It’s a dark story, but Hanks is excellent a man with ties to the mob and his relationship with his good natured young son (Tyler Hoechlin, TV’s current Superman and Lois). The John Williams score and movie I recommend is How to Steal a Million with Audrey Hepburn and Peter O’Toole. It’s a heist movie love story. Both charming and exciting and full of surprises. Love your channel, Jen.
So yeah... I'm just blasting through a bunch of your reactions right now. (-40 here in Alberta tonight, lol) And I just wanted to say, I think it's awesome how much you comment on soundtracks. Finally, a reactor who appreciates what makes a movie truly great! :)
Fun story! I was working at a Ritz-Carlton Hotel recently and happened to meet the real Frank Abignale, Jr. He was very nice, and I was awkwardly star-struck for some reason as I usually am not star stuck, lol. I love this movie, so I guess I appreciated his incredible story? Great reaction vid as usual 👍👍
That's awesome. From what I've seen of the real Frank Abagnale Jr based on the few interviews I've seen he seems to be a very humble guy who seems to be very happy that he's gotten to settle down and have a family. He seems to be far more proud of being a family man than he does of his past as a con man.
If you like the credits, they are inspired by Saul Bass. The thing to remember about the plot of this 'true' film is that it's based on a story by a con-man. Make of that what you will.
A. Your love of the scores in movies always makes me smile :) B. Sadly though, in recent years, many of Frank's claims have been debunked :( C. But the movie is still super fun, and the cast is amazing.
@@joelwillis2043 yes debunked. like LITERALLY REFUTED with literal evidence. such as his claims to have worked at a hospital which didn't have the shift he claimed to have worked in, one claim was refuted by records of him being in priison at the time.

Such a sweet, joyful 60's vibe and fantastic music, Tom Hanks is in a supporting role but since he's also the writer and director the whole movie feels very Tom Hanksy. You would also love him in "A League of Their Own."
This is one of my favorite DiCaprio films! The fact that it is based on a real-life story makes it even better.
Forrest Gump is a must see Tom Hanks movie. You'll love it.
the kissing scene with the nurse is great 🤣
Spielberg told Amy Adams, “Imagine you’ve been starving in the desert for a week…” then pointed to Leo’s head saying, “…and his head is a cheeseburger.” The result is what you see.
@Stone_Horse What a lady.
@@Artman1991
My dad flew for Pan Am in the 70s and heard stories about this guy. Abagnale NEVER flew on Pan Am because of the risk of having to relieve one of the pilots. It's called 'Deadheading". Also , even though Pan Am employed 100s of pilots, everybody knew or heard of somebody. He would have been Busted before the plane left the ground.
It never happened , it is public record Alan C Logan investigated Frank and Frank was in jail all during his teens.
Amy Adams, Elizabeth Banks and Ellen Pompeo all have roles in this film, before they become more well known.
Amazing actresses.
Even earlier than this, Amy Adams has a little role in Drop Dead Gorgeous that is hilarious. She really took off after Catch Me If You Can.
The screenplay is very faithful to the "autobiography" Unfortunately the autobiography has been completely debunked as a work of fiction. Turns out the greatest con Frank Abignaile ever pulled was inventing his own life story. Still a great movie though.
30,000 miles per hour at 300 feet is one of my favorite lines in this film.
"Cloud Atlas" Tom Hanks said it was his best, most underrated movie.
Good Afternoon Jen, I've been waiting for this...Let the Chase BEGIN!! 😎👍
I love Charade!
Charade is DEFINITELY a great movie and an absolute must-watch IMO.
I can't remember if you've seen some of these so sorry if I repeat, but here are some other Tom Hanks movies to check out:
Apollo 13, Saving Private Ryan, A League of Their Own, Big, Saving Mr. Banks, Sully, That Thing You Do!, The Terminal
Saving Private Ryan is on my channel 👍
Here’s a list of other Tom Hanks movies you should check out, Jen:
-A League of Their Own
-Big
-Cast Away
-Elvis (2022)
-Larry Crowne
-Saving Mr. Banks
-Sleepless in Seattle
-Toy Story (1-4)
-You’ve Got Mail
One of my favorite Tom Hanks movies to check out: Road to Perdition. Change of pace for Tom compared to his normal characters, definitely underrated.
Gotta love a classic caper movie. They did such a great job in selling the feel of the era
1:47 what?!
4:32 I guess con men could be nice. I mean they they would have to be. They have to be charming and friendly.
6:30 he's right
7:23 lady for frig's sake's.
11:42 milk 😂
12:05 oh Frank 😊
12:09 look at all these Benjamins. They're all Benjamins to me.
13:51 champagne 🥂
16:40 hey-o, James Bond.
16:44 I love James Bond. (And we ❤ Jennypenny)
17:05 oh my God, he wants to be James Bond. Respect! Yes!
17:12 speaking of Bond, enter sexy lady.
18:18 you ruined his load! 😂
19:04 ahhh. I love nerds. 🙂
20:31 he's handsome (compared to Cavill?)
20:58 doesn't he have to like make medical decisions?
21:04 I think he's gonna MARRY her, when she gets her braces off.
22:50 I bet he would respect a docta
24:50 I wanna know, how'd he pass the bar. Oh now I have to get a donut after this.
25:06 I'd just watch a bunch of Ally McBeal.
27:38 holy 💵 STACKS and STACKS 💵
27:42 a year and a half? 16?
27:53 she's not gonna go with you man, you gotta go.
28:28 poor Brenda. I don't think she's gonna make it to the airport.
28:54 well what'd you expect man? She just got her braces off! 😂
29:24 did he just pick the most beautiful ones?
Such a great film👏🏽👏🏽👌🏽great reaction Jen❤️
Along with the book Frank wrote, I also suggest the book "The Greatest Hoax on Earth: Catching Truth, While We Can" by Alan Logan. Basically, a lot of the story Frank wrote is complete fiction. Ironically, he is one of the biggest conmen, but for different reasons than presented in his story.
No way is this underrated, it is considered one of the best movies ever made
Agree.
You absolutely must read the book. It includes so many more cons that weren't included in the film including the time he conned his own way out of prison. The guards literally opened the doors for him 😂
Yes I forgotten how good this film is and John Williams is a legend with his music.
Another great Tom Hanks movie:
“THE TERMINAL “
Neat!! He comes to America and while he’s here his homeland gets taken over and he can’t leave the American Airport!! Cute cast including Catherine Zeta Jones and Stanley Tucci!! Funny things happen in the airport sweet things too!!!
The guy whose the movie real story is based on, recently passed away.
Yes please! Everyone forgets about this one but its also Spielberg and John Williams too. Great, funny, heart warmer you'd think it would have more TH-cam reacts??
The animated opening with John William's music is VERY reminiscent of movies of the '60's and '70's.
I saw this at the theater when I was having serious stress troubles in life. I barely remember anything about it. I remember Elizabeth Banks flirting with DiCaprio, I remember the music montage with the guns in the hands going back and forth, and "You don't have anyone else to call", and not much else.
"This is such a cool opening!"
It's very retro. For another retro gem - Down With Love, a quirky romantic comedy with Ewan McGregor and Rene Zellweger.
A Tom Hanks movie I love is "That Thing You Do!" (1996) also written, and directed by Tom.
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang with RDJ and Val Kilmer is another great one about getting in over your head with a con
The Cadillac, the purple Cadillac, Clarence's purple Cadillac.
Heartbreaking every time
CW needs mere seconds in a film to be the most iconic character in it - he's done it so many times it's unreal. But nothing will ever top True Romance.
@@BigTroyT You're a cantaloupe
One of Hanks best early performances is "Nothing In Common"
For Tom Hanks films, there's "Big", "Splash", the "Toy Story" films, and "Apollo 13", to name a few.
And none of those claims are true.
More and more holes have been discovered in his claims over the years. It appears that they are at least partially bullshit
The Quick and The Dead (1995) is a great young Leo movie; it also has Russell Crowe in his first American movie, Sharon Stone and Gene Hackman
Fun Fact: The Montrichard scene was actually filmed in Quebec City in the old town...
Turner and Hooch 1989 is one of my all-time Tom Hanks Movies❤❤❤
A Leo movie that I think is often forgotten is 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape'. I personally think Leo did a fantastic job here, especially when he was so young at the time! May even have been his first movie?
The movie "1941," also directed by Spielberg, has a great John Williams score.
Shutter Island with Leo in is so good if you've not seen it
This, The Terminal and Munich are the best Spielberg movies of early 2000's, or even this century so far. You should also watch the latter two!
Empire of the Sun is a great movie scored by John Williams.
John Williams’ scores/movies: The Cowboys, the Eiger Sanction (another jazzy score), Earthquake, The Towering Inferno
Getting conned by "On the Lamb/Evil Jen" is definitely on my bucket list now.
_"I've gone on the lam, and I'm a conman now, and that's that"_ - I pretty much thought that's what you were doing anyway...
A hidden gem! The gospel singing scene is amazing. Irma Hall who played Mrs. Munson stole the movie.
So yeah... I'm just blasting through a bunch of your reactions right now. (-40 here in Alberta tonight, lol)
And I just wanted to say, I think it's awesome how much you comment on soundtracks. Finally, a reactor who appreciates what makes a movie truly great! :)
Thanks! 🎵
37:20 It's been proven that if you walk into just about any building carrying a ladder they will just let you in, no questions asked.
A. Your love of the scores in movies always makes me smile :)
B. Sadly though, in recent years, many of Frank's claims have been debunked :(
C. But the movie is still super fun, and the cast is amazing.
So Frank was a liar then and is a liar now. 😂
His greatest con was convincing us that he did all this shit.
@@joelwillis2043 yes debunked. like LITERALLY REFUTED with literal evidence. such as his claims to have worked at a hospital which didn't have the shift he claimed to have worked in, one claim was refuted by records of him being in priison at the time.
@@joelwillis2043 In December 1978, Abagnale's claims were again investigated after he visited Oklahoma City for a talk.[32] As part of his investigation into the story, Perry spoke with Pan Am spokesman Bruce Haxthausen, who responded to the journalists' inquiry saying:
This is the first we've heard of this, and we would have heard of or at least remember[ed] it if it had happened. You don't forget $2.5 million in bad checks. I'd say this guy is as phony as a $3 bill.
- Ira Perry, The Daily Oklahoman, "Inquiry Shows 'Reformed' Con Man Hasn't Quit Yet", December 10, 1978
Just love the way you get jazzed about the music.
This movie is so great I still watch it once in a while. The tricks and wits of Frank are so fascinating.
