U$1.4mm was reportedly the budget for this MV.
Zhang Yixing is Lay's Chinese name so ZHANGYIXING studio is his own studio.
Rigend Film which was involved with Parasites was involved in this project as well.
yixing spent $1.4M for LIT mv, filmed it at the largest film studios in the world which is hengdian, with over 100 extras. took part as a producer, director, actor & writer. he even participated in composing, arranging, writing the lyrics & choreographing. talk about all-rounder.
Lay is in LA right now preparing for his concert and album. So last week I think, he met his idol Tight Eyez in LA and was personally taught the krump. You can bet Lay is so happy.

I think Lay invested his own money into this video. He was inspired by Peking opera Farewell My Concubine and also the symbolism of the lotus flower (its ancient pronunciation sounds like 'lit').
The lotus flowers are beautiful & have meaning of pureness and virtue but they actually grow in the mud. They are rooted in the mud but have a long & firm stud (honesty) & the beautiful white flowers float on top of the muddy waters. It is a flower also linked to Buddhism. His song Flying Apsaras is also buddhist iconography

We appreciate Lay for what he is, what he did, what he does and what he will do in the future. When you have a pearl to watch and appreciate for me, you have to make the most out of it. Yixing truely is amazing and surprising every time. We love him and he will forever do!

In the MV when he says “I AM LIT” … He’s saying he is the LOTUS; which I regrettably don’t remember the full meaning but im sure someone will fill you in about it.
I think it was symbolising a rebirth , learning new things becoming better, growth. Hence the Lotus but I'm not 100%.
