THIS IS THE GROUP LAY IS A PART OF, THEY’RE OGs ....
*PART 1 OF 2 : HERE’S EXO INFO ....*
EXO is a 9 member Kpop group, who originally had 12 members separated as two subgroups EXO-K & EXO-M. They formed in 2011 debuting on April 8, 2012 under SM Entertainment. *Their group concept is they’re aliens from EXOplanet [Alternate Universe] sent to protect the Tree of Life (Please react to their debut MV “MAMA” with the storyline opening intro). They all have alien powers and the music videos are interconnected which aren’t in proper order; so fans have to figure out where each music video falls into the storyline and the meaning.* The music is a unique combination of music genres performed in Korean, Chinese(Mandarin) and Japanese. In 2014 last time EXO was separated as subgroups to release music, they’ve been active as one group since then performing in multiple languages. EXO remained with nine members after the departures of Kris, Tao, LuHan after legal issues arose between them & the company during 2014 / 2015. While in 2016 a trio subunit called EXO-CBX was created which incorporates the three members stage name initials for Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin. All of the members have their own solo career projects in music, tv and film. *My biases are KAI, Baekhyun, Lay and Sehun but I love & support OT9*
*The “Love Shot” is their previous single of their repackaged album ‘Dont Mess With My Tempo’. The guns filled with liquid, it’s a play on taking shots (drinking) but also a play on sniper’s shot to the head nicknamed “Love Shot”; the choreography mimickes both meanings. In the storyline EXO seen battling against “the red force” evildoers trying to attack & captor them and tree of life which you see a standoff happening in the music video.* KEEP IN MIND allot of their older music videos aren’t subbed so you’ll have to look up the lyrics & meanings. SM Ent only recently started adding subtitles and the MVs don’t reflect their storyline so don’t look within the videos for the meanings.
IGNORE EVERYTHING NEGATIVE ABOUT CHEN & CHANYEOL because NONE of its true since its all childish ANTI NETIZENS who have nothing better but do everything they can to defame celebrities who just want to be honest artists but locals don’t like that at all. EXO has yet to have their first US tour which SM kept refusing to give them one; the eight years they’ve been together a group but majority of all other SM Artists have had a US Tour or have gone to the US for concerts, the members themselves have gone individually for solo albums/performances but now that Baekhyun & Kai are part of a SM collaboration group called #SuperM with SHINee Taemin, NCT / WayV Taeyong Mark Lucas and TEN that’s the closest EXO gets to having a US Debut & Tour.

First subgroup EXO-K, leader Suho became the 1st member(trainee) of SM Entertainment in 2006; the following year 2nd member Kai by his father’s encouragement auditioned and got accepted; same time Chanyeol won 2nd place in Smart Model Contest and Sehun had to go through four auditions for 2 years before getting accepted. The subgroup’s last two members(trainees) to go into EXO-K during 2010/2011 were D.O and Baekhyun. Every XO-M subgroup leader Kris went through Canada’s Global Auditioning around the same time Lay went for an audition at Changsha; both subsequently moved to South Korea, while Xiumin goes with a friend to audition winning 2nd place he became the next member(not including the friend) to join EXO-M in 2008. Within two years LuHan and Tao were scouted into SM by one of the company representatives in Myeong-dong and during a talent show, the last member to join the subgroup EXO-M was Chen in 2011. In December 2011 they’d finalized their group name to EXO; which is short for “EXOplanet”. Their first tv performance was at SBS’s Annual Gayo Daejun Event on Dec 29th. They’ve won many awards and nominations for their variety of creative music genres, solo projects, show appearances and performances.
*The title track “Overdose” of their third extended play album ‘Overdose’ is a catchy and popular song that EXO-K along with EXO-M which all 12 members are present) brings a hip-hop R&B based urban dance tempo made by collaboration of a world renowned producing team ‘The Underdogs’ who worked along with Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown and Kenzie who wrote number of hit tracks. The amazing catchy lyrics describes a man’s fatal & powerfully addictive love as if overdosing on sweet drugs in a realistic sensuous manner while stuck in a Maze attracting music addicts worldwide. Its also was the last song / music video before members Kris Wu & LuHan left the group and company then later down the road Tao decided it was best for him to leave but it wasn’t because of the members, it was of the mistreatment on top of other things just because they were Chinese (South Korean & China dont get along at all) and also during that time LAY had to go back forth to China for his solo projects since then he’s been having to be absent for a long awhile but never left the group and continues promoting as EXO member within his solo work. Zhang Yi-Xing (LAY) made a solo comeback with his first full album released two tracks; pre-release “Give Me A Chance” which was on his bday within the same week dropped title track “Namanana”. As of right now he’s still currently having to promote as an active solo artist for the past five years now and he also had finally made it to the 2019 Grammys red carpet along with BTS and GOT7 Jackson Wang. LAY played a main role in a chinese drama called “The Golden Eyes” which you can watch with VIKI TV app with free standard membership.* Before pandemic Lay was traveling back forth to China promoting his solo music on top of EXO which has been causing non-stop childish fanwars between international, korean, and local fandoms since China literally has kept him on his toes doing overload of Chinese related events on top of his overly busy schedule. He has constantly said he tries to continue helping his brothers EXO when he can but on low-key terms; also he has a previous single track/MV called “Grandma” which is about his deep love & gratitude for his grandmother who he misses very much where I heard he filmed in his old hometown.
Kai has a few dramas and movies that he’s done overtime & some artist collaborations along with Baekhyun who also has some artist collaborations of his own. Kyungsoo (D.O) has a few films and dramas that he’s starred in. Chanyeol had starred in drama called “Missing Nine” and has some solo songs where he sings & raps. Suho with Baekhyun had dominated fashion world when they attended Privé Alliance Event. Xiumin enlisted April 2019 and month later D.O decided its best to enlist early so he enlisted June 2019. Suho will be enlisting toward the end of the year. On other hand it’s reported that Chen, one of main vocalists is the first korean member of EXO to make a solo debut but he’s not the first EXO member overall to go solo. They are still a group; the members themselves are preparing for the next step in their career, so when the older members have to enlist for at least 1 1/2 to 2 whole years then return they have something to fall back on until the rest of the members return from military. On the other hand, Kris had played a role in the third XXX: Return of Xander Cage movie with Vin Diesel along with other roles before that and Luhan has also been in some chinese movies & dramas. Tao has a previous comeback called “AI”, the MV and song very interesting (I unfortunately haven’t heard much about Kris, Luhan, and Tao) besides their acting. Since there’s not much of EXO-M, Chen & Xiumin were added to EXO-K until LAY can someday return from his solo projects; he NEVER left the group nor has any plans to leave either.
Lay has stated in many interviews that is he’s still part of EXO and doesn’t have plan on leaving the group, he’ll always be there for his brothers when he can be when they need him and also he’s said that “Namanana” (which is his first solo title album) he made the word up that was inspired by the lion king song “Hakuna Matata”, his role is a traveling postman. He filmed in Western Australia and that one scene is called Pink Lake (Lol yes it’s a real lake) and another scene I believe it shows that he gains his healing [unicorn] superpower back from his power orb after opening the package which indicts he’s still with EXO. Lay is known for dancing and can sing, rap and act he is one of the biggest people in China he even represents China he even is in the group EXO and I miss him so much with exo and he is so humble which makes me love him even more

I’ve been waiting for his new album which is the first part of two to came out, teasers along with concept photos. It’s finally here OMG someone pinch me? I’m sadly rusty on chinese history, its like a soundtrack for a movie trailer. There’s so much but I don’t know where to start since I still can’t get over how darn hardcore LIT our boy is being with a DRAGON, LYRICS and KILLER VISUALS 👀🔥while trying to expand China to the world through his own mixed-pop style of music even though local anti fans, critics and anyone else don’t want that to happen 🙄 So in MV Lay (Lotus) is fighting against them (JADE) which is the female counterpart of LIT that Lay also plays the role. Lame antis kept calling him lotus which means “Fake who only looks innocent but is evil” so his response back to them was this masterpiece called “LOTUS” same pronunciation as “LIT”, despite the lotus being drowned in darkness; he maintains his unsoiled purity.* Regarding the Sheep name, antis also called him that which is why he responded with his song “SHEEP”. After this everyone will know who Lay Zhang is (The King/General of China) and if they don’t then they must be in extreme deep sleep. IN MY OPINION when he says “Taking China to the World” I think the he speaks for today’s generation about being done with the political issues, hatred, discrimination between countries and wants it to end because its a new year a new decade; things need to change if their countries along with the world is ever going to strive forward and he wants to be the first to break through that wall. I don’t know how anyone else feels about this but every time this group says on an artist “they studied” or “studying”, I get low-key annoyed 🙃
It feels kind of condescending, like they're somehow being viewed as incapable for whatever reason and so it's surprising that they are quite skilled when something is impressive to them. I don't know if they mean it that way, but I get you~
It is not meant to be condescending. People on tiktok and other culture vultures do a lot of copy paste dance moves without appreciating the history of it that dancers should learn as they train. We've seen groups that do this, so it is meant as a compliment of appreciation for them for taking the time.
