Bit of a tip from an electrical engineer you might wanna mesh the copper wire on your solder joints for less electrical resistance on your circuit you always want direct copper to copper contact if at all possible or your connections may heat up at the solder joints on high energy circuits like this and melt your solder apart or start a fire. Of further note you might also heavily waterproof the battery leads and any other open connection to prevent potential electrocution in the rain or during even standard driving sometimes, we almost always add a plastic shell to applications like this as an errant car or bike may splash you with lethal results at any time though spray rubber or even electrical tape would be enough for most short term wetting though I'dreccomend a coating of resin over it if you tape it.
The potential solder joint heat issue can be checked with a thermal camera to see if your draw has issues under heavy load(check while riding or on test stand with the maximum liad on the bike) just look for a hot spot right where the join is.
This time you've failed,the crown welded directly on the pedals is a wrong idea,in my opinion.

I've tried 3 or 4 different controllers and throttles and none of them work as a gradual increase in power is Just an on off switch. Which should be connected to the brake so that it turns off the motor when you apply the brake

I suggest putting the power sprocket on the other side (pedal plate side) and use a more longer chain driver so as to utilize the free wheeling of the plate.
Despite some faulties as the comments show (it cant be denied), thanks for the video. I got some interesting ideas to apply for my build.

Great simple build but it needs a clutch or ratcheting sprocket between motor and the pedals.

I think it would be best to install a long chain to a certain small sprocket in the back so the peddle doesn't get you hurt.
those motors have resistance to peddling.
Nice video. Replace Your small pedal gear with a freewheel gear(like rear gear) will help You when You will use/operate mode : pedal only, motor only, or both. It will make Your leg safer & more comfortable

I would love to see a 6-month review on that because that's a very simple DIY mid-drive and you just can't beat the mid-drives so if it stands the test of time actress good and broken in and still running effectively I might try something like that myself thanks for the idea
A small mistake, fixed the star that moves the wheel next to the cranks of the pedals, the star is ensolidated on the other side of the multiple stars that has the rear wheel, thus would have prevented the pedals from moving.

Planning on buying one of these bikes myself, really like the curves of the frame. They are called a pedalease big cat and used to be jhi mustang in the UK though, think multiple companies are selling the same bike just painted different colours. Cool build really like the battery pack.

You can buy simple kits that mount these motors at the back of the frame near the rear axle. Why risk putting it at the cranks where you can get shoelaces or a pant leg caught in chain?
why buy kits, when you can build your own, more fun 100%

Bro can you help. I have did one electric cycle same like this. But I have used 18650 li-ion batterypack done by me. That is 29.2v and 22A capacity and i have used 7s 24v 35A BMS. Motor and controller same as you used. The problem is when I'm throttling voltage is dropping that i can see in indicator. If the voltage drops at red color point , the battery getting Tripp off. Then i have to disconnect the battery and connect again. Can you give solution to avoid this issue

You need better batteries, use 18650 cells, try to make at least a 20amp battery pack and hey you better off walking if it only goes 7km an hour

He can't have a regenerative braking because there is free wheel system between the rear wheel and the transmission, I'm making a similar system on my bike and I see that I can't too ^^
