This is probably the best DIY electric bike. I am going to make a similar one, but I will use a lithium battery pack. I like that you keep the original bike transmission, so you can select gear based on the terrain for an optimum performance of the motor. Great Project! 👍👍

35km is a lot at max speed 40km/h and if you want more range just travel slower at 20km/h. That will extend the range a while.probably near 50km!

Im a professional bike mechanic. This is a cheap budget bike. YOU PAY for what you get. Maybe with your health!
We will refuse work on cheap garbage like this because there is no way to make them safe and its not only the brakes! It every single part on the bike.
These are cheap mechanical brakes. Without the motor, you could apply these brakes and keep pedaling. Now you add a powerful motor, extra weight and you are asking for trouble. The brakes may slow down a little, down a hill or in an emergency stop, youd better have good health insurance and life insurance paid up.
This is a really bad idea and an irresponsible video.

When you have insufficient brakes YOU are not the only one who is endangered. Ive seen pedestrians run over and seriously injured by bicycles with poor or no brakes. These were bikes with NO MOTOR and extra weight. I ‘think’ its ‘not so’ common sense.
It Just shows how intelligent you are regarding the laws of motion and how concerned you are with the safety of others around you. GROW UP!

ok, but when you have a full throttle and are you breaking with theese powerfull breakes you not cooking the motor? i mean build a motor stopper mechanism when you breaking.
Moldender boi he is not using the disc brake there is a option in the controller that stops the motor complete
Those brakes are only mechanical disc brakes, so nothing too impressive. I would rather worry of not being able to stop fast enough in the traffic with this heavy bike.
