they used to have a decent US site where you could buy products and had service/support as well as product specs and documents. They killed all of that during covid and their supply chain has been abysmal. I have a 2 year chat with them on the M5A where they promised it was coming back in stock. When it finally came in stock they jacked up the price as it was previously $1399.
Speakers having fun technical performance at quiet levels is a highly underrated thing. People love to do reviews when they turn them the fug up but quiet listening is a whole other thing. Some speakers are boring AF when quiet when some are great. I think what you may have been struggling to articulate here is how I feel with all AMT/Ribbon based tweeters. They tend to be almost unnatural in timbre so that is feels like they are shouting at you. So even when you turn the tweets down and the bass is attenutated up you still have to turn the speaker up to hear the mids correctly. Then you get monster bass and on some tracks the tweets are way too harsh.
I'd like to point out that amt and ribbon are vastly different concepts, and experiences. I have true ribbon tweeters in my diy speakers. Horn loaded, and they were $70 each. They sound absolutely incredible in my 10" 2-ways. Lemme tell you, big 10" 2-way floor standers are an *experience* for watching content with full range left and rights, even on the shittiest of amps (don't @ me using a low end 7.1 receiver, I'm poor okay 🤣)
@@thierryfaquet7405 It's not so much the size, more just the design of the speaker that dictates what it's capable of honestly. Some small speakers can only ever be used far away, some large are near field kings. My homebrew 10" that are absolutely massive sound fantastic no matter how far you are from them. 3 feet away? Absolutely, shine on you beautiful dumb bitch sitting 3 feet from 10" 2 ways 🤣. 8 feet away? Fantastic. Farther away? Party on man.
Hi Zeos - Just like to say how much I appreciate the message to save your hearing. Spent earlier part of my life working in clubs. Wore earplugs as often as possible. Probably looked a massive dork. Ended up with some tinnitus but I'm going to be able to hear a reasonable amount later in life.....
I use these as a home theater 2.1 setup. Fantastic for full range sound effects and loud volumes. I use an external DAC because the internal has volume increments thats unusable and they dont have subwoofer output or HDMI ARC.
Zeos, as a 61 year old man who has always loved music, I wholeheartedly agree with what you said about protecting your hearing. Mine is terrible because normies think its cool to blast music in your ears.
I have a similar issue with the Swan D300 - even though I love em to death - they just need to be played loud, something in them is just like "SWAN ACTIVATE" when you turn them up. Which is why it's so infuriating that the volume increments on the remote are SO HUGE (That said, I'd still recommend those to absolutely anybody in a heartbeat, go digital in, crank the bass and treble knobs full tilt and be happy til the end of days)
I have the D300's as well and the volume steps are the so annoyingly huge, I literally prefer to use a dac with a volume knob to avoid the remote, I think that the balanced input does sound a little better, but its hard to tell sometimes. At least there's no real drop in quality from using either.
BOUGHT THESE SPEAKERS RECENTLY AND AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH THEM. THE CLARITY AND RICHNESS OF SOUND IS SO REWARDING. PLAYED EPIC KOOL AND THE GANG, ZEPPELIN, JEWEL, DAVE MATHEWS, ETC. WILL DO FLOYD SHORTLY. AND I AM SIMPLY STREAMING FROM MY PHONE USING BLUETOOTH. GOT THEM FROM AMAZON ON BLACK FRIDAY DEAL FOR $1087. LOVE THEM
Turn the volume on dac and speakers all the way up! Control volume only using computer volume do it! It takes them to the next level when using the digital input, definitely use coax over optical!

I notice the raising the volume 'issue' with my modded m1060c open, where I just want more and more of it. And eventually it's too loud and I haven't noticed and then I'm tired. The reason is that I really like them and want more of them. My focal elegias feel less exciting and moving than the M1060c and I never keep rasing the volume on those :o go figure
Hi Z 👋, I was wondering, What iphone app should I be using? the "HiVi Swans" one won't find the speakers even after selecting BT on the speaker and pairing with the phone. Got a pair of them for $900 in my country were stuff usually costs double the US price, only missing the toslink cable and the user manual, and a very small dent on the passive one. Amazing speakers, I agree they are underwhelming on low volume, but I didn't notice much difference between using the internal or a external DAC. They are big AF, my wife wasn't very happy about that 😂
I used to own a Swan f2.2 system. Nothing has ever compared before or since. I had a baby and needed money so they were sold. I wondered what happened to swan because I never saw them blow up like they should have. You really need to try them out. I would love to hear what you think.
I have them and use them for nearfield desktop. You should. I get FULL sound unlike smaller speakers. When I say FULL I mean that the sound comes from seemingly everywhere from the left and right as opposed to small desktop speakers. I also get full range sound as well. The only concern is that I may not be in it's sweet spot because there is so much speaker. It's tall 3-way design demands that you have to be a certain optimal distance away for perfect phase. Nevertheless, I love them for nearfield even though they might sound better for mid-far field.
Been feeding mine balanced from my topping DX7 pro in my home theater and they are wonderful. How would one go about updating the firmware if there is one available?
You can technically update the firmware by going to the ip address of the speaker. Once you're in, it's like a router menu, but it's all Chinese. You have to find the chinese word to click on and change it to "English", which you would only know it says "English" if you can read Chinese. Once you switch it to English, you can navigate to update the firmware, but I haven't seen any firmware update available. It either times out when searching for the update, or says there is no update available. Off the top of my head, I think the latest firmware is from 2017? I could be wrong, but I do remember it being old. Zeos, maybe you could convince them to update the firmware? PS, I have two pairs of M5As and absolutely love them (one is for sale if anyone is interested....perfect condition, barely used).....I always kept the bass knob all the way up and treble I found best just a little above 12 (flat where it clicks in)....maybe 1 to 1:30
Even if they (Swan) gave us a file to download, we could manually update it that way. It does give you the option to browse for a file and upload your own firmware file

Ive had a few people I know get things replaced. Swan had a rough patch. So long as they exist on amazon replacements should be available, when they are on amazon.. FFF
@@ZReviews Can you possibly share a support phone number and/or email address that will be answered/replied?
NO SUB OUT RUINED IT!!!!
Of all the speakers that DO NOT need a sub added. This one is #1

note myself turn off subwoofer when watching your videos ...
Z gimme gimme!!!
The chick on the tv looks odd. Having the leg hanging off like that looks unnatural.
106 pounds that's over 50kg ?
At this price still using the umbilical cord between speakers, that's bullshit. Just go get Genelec monitors at this point.
fart
NO sub out??? An other missed opportunity.....
If you need a sub, you are bad at audio.
I won't support any obnoxious adult that is still into cartoons / anime after the age of 11 and calls it Lovely . Having cool and expensive audio things doesn't change a person's mentality and this guy is like a child that begs for attention
I DONT GET A 30 YEAR OLD GUY WITH STUFF GOING ON.....SO INTO WIERD CHINESEY CARTOONS FOR KIDS
