As a French man, i enjoyed watching your France mini series. Fairly acurrate experience and quite close to the "real" French lifestyle. Because you lived (and not visited) there, i can say that the France that you show in your videos is the real one, and i am glad that you enjoyed it as much as you show in your videos. Thank you for spending some time here and bringing wonderful memories back to the States! Au revoir, et merci.
This may be one of your best videos ever. Y’all showed real life…precious Caleb surprising y’all, the horrors of war( without being graphic) and how blessed we are to have men and women willingly giving their lives so we can be here. Truly a touching video, thank you. ❤🇺🇸❤
I couldn't have said it better, I jumped on my phone to type up something similar, but you said it better. Thank you, this truly was a fantastic show, I laughed and cried, the men and women gave their lives to give us freedom, the current generations sometimes don't think about or understand.😢(Except Caleb of course❤)
And now you have chosen ( elected) to go the Hitler way. His success was also, that nobody believed, what he announced. But you have no Nation to save you, and no educated people in the land to turn it around. There will no coming back, no country turned it around on his own. The Greeks, the Romans, the Khmer, the Chinese, the Russians,
We visited Normandy battle sites & cemeteries years ago & realised that the sons & grandsons of immigrants who came to the US to escape persecution (political & religious, etc.) & revolutions willingly went back to Europe to fight for Democracy twice. Even today, children of immigrants join the armed forces readily because they value their new country. As we now learn from MAGA, I glean that Americans will not fight to save democracy overseas anymore.😢
Thank you. The first time I visited Normandy, my hate for war festered so deep in my soul and I cried like a child. After that, I drove to the graves of WWI, where my maternal grandfather lies and leaving, I marveled at the amount of honor and dignity the French give all fallen soldiers of all countries. I find it amazing. God bless.
I’ve watched every video you’ve ever made from day one. This one hits different on so many levels. Seeing Caleb and the absolute joy he brings and the looks on your faces when he surprised you was priceless. The way you portrayed the horrors of WWII and the grace in which you did it literally brought me to tears. Seeing Caleb standing there and taking it all in knowing that the majority of those lost souls were the same age as he is just breaks my heart. Freedom isn’t free and may God Bless all of our military members past, present and future. 💔🙏
In 2002, accompanied a group of high school students on performance tour of Europe. The most wonderful memory I have is their singing tribute at the amphitheater in the American cemetery. “America, the Beautiful” brought tears to the eyes of all visitors.
What freedom? It was a biais to put your hands above Europe: American bases,NATO,AMGOT ,MARSHALL PLAN to introduce US products etc... I blame US Government : the deep state ;not brave US GI's who losed there lives who where involved in a war bigger than them.
Thank you for showing Normandy and the American Cemetery. I’m a retired Navy Seabee and this one brought a tear to my eyes. God bless America. Freedom isn’t free it’s paid for with the blood of brave men and women who wear the uniform of the greatest country on earth.
USA are one of the great countries on earth. If we could stop thinking that some are better than others, maybe there would be less conflicts and tensions in the world, don't you think ? I am not saying that awful countries don't exist (I won't live in Russia, in Saudi Arabia or in Afghanistan, etc). But I think everybody should be humble. Great Britain, France and Germany used to think they were "the best" just before 1914 : look at what happened. Like many countries, USA brought wonderful things to the world ; and like many countries, they also generated problems.
Thank You for this video. My uncle was a tail gunner on the last B-17 that was shot down over Germany. He spent 18 months as a POW in a concentration camp. So many people are unaware of the "true" cost of freedom.
Caleb has learned some mad video creation skills from his dad. What an awesome surprise! Love it! The scenes from Normandy brought a tear. Thank you for honoring those souls.
I"m 34 born in Rouen Normandy, these places are really special I visited d-day beach a lot of times and it's still the same energy, thanks to all of the people who fallen for our liberty.
We went in 2013. It was the best trip of my life. And you’re bringing back so much nostalgia for it. Thank you so much for doing this trip and the show. Enjoying it so much.
Thank you so much for sharing, especially Normandy. As Caleb stood by the display, I was reminded that many of the young men there on D-Day were not much older than him.
Thank you Trish, Marc and Caleb, just a fantastic episode! I’ve been a KYD fan since your first season and All of your episodes are great but this one has to be one of the best, from the humor and joy of Caleb’s surprise visit to the wonderful scenery and finally the honor and rememberance you provided at the end to all those who gave their lives… Well done - thank you all so much. Safe travels to all. Thank you.
Watched this video on Veterans Day. My father served in WWII. I'm so thankful for his service and of all the men and women who have served our country. Truly the greatest generation.
My son and I recreated the Band of Brothers route and went on a 3 week WWII odyssey! We used Stephen Ambrose’s tour itinerary for help. At 22, my son was an amazing travel companion for his history teacher mom! 🇬🇧🇫🇷🇳🇱🇧🇪🇱🇺🇩🇪🇦🇹
What a lovely episode. Thank you for acknowledging all the forces that took part in Normandy, one of my uncles was part of landing force 'J' that landed on Juno Beach. Watching this on Nov 11, bless those that served and made the ultimate sacrifice. ❤
Im NOT CRYING -- You ARE----- WWII Veterans are different!!! they are BEAST!! i am grateful for the opportunity I have to take care of our Veterans. Thank you for your VIDEO respecting this moment in our history!!! Thank you for all that have Served our Country!!
I have followed your channel since day one. I've always been impressed at your editing and sound. Now days it seems most channels feel compelled to blast music, often over their own dialog. You have always used music as an accent, not a main focus. Believe me your viewers appreciate that more than you know. Great episode, as usual. Thanks for reminding us of The Greatest Generation and one of their most impressive accomplishments....Winning that most destructive of wars. There are too few of them left. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. Episode 1 was a music volume disaster! Now I listen to the entire episode with Airpods in to make the adjustments. Yes, the Greatest Generation indeed.
Thank you for this. In 2019 we took a river cruise from Paris to Normandy. My husband really wanted to see Normandy. We got off the bus near Beyueux ... the Canadian beach... where I proceeded to fall down some stairs at the museum. Spent the rest of the day in the hospital getting 19 stitches!!! MDH never saw Normandy. That ended our much anticipated European vacation sadly. Just beautiful.
I'm watching this on 11/10/24. Tomorrow is Veteran's Day. I thank all of our soldiers for what they did for us. I thank the families for their sacrifice as well. Thank you for making the trip to Normandy. I've never been and probably never will. Thank you
Oh man, this brings back memories. Walking on Omaha Beach was unreal. I noticed the beach was massive with a hill behind it. I kept thinking what jerk thought this was a good spot to come ashore, then realized it was Eisenhower and slapped myself in the face. Arromanches, cool place. I had some little old man grab me and kiss my cheek and said something I didn’t understand. I was told he was thanking America for liberating France. I teared up. The Mulberries were an interesting story. The cemetery, oh man, I cried like a baby. Great info guys. Safe travels!
My wife and I have a tradition of sitting down and watching your videos every Sunday night. You inspire us all, and we look forward to your videos every week!
I loveyour show. I have two daughters, one is a Doctor, one is a Nurse Practioner I'm a Biologist that was attacked in Colorado and sustained a.TBI around 4 months ago.. Okay - this video was so incredibly well done. What a wonderful surprise by Caleb, honoring our servicemembers with the visit and I, too, shed a tear. Thank you!!
With all the doom and gloom going on around us with this election, I’d just like to say THANK YOU for this series. It’s a sweet escape. I haven’t even watched this one before I paused to comment but I just wanted to let you know you two bring so much light to a dark world. ❤❤ Bonne nuit!
I know my single comment will be buried among all the other accolades, but the production quality of these videos is incredible. From the videography to the producing to the important, touching subject…..BRAVO!
I was going to watch half of this now and half later on, but I couldn’t turn it off. I just couldn’t. As a Canadian, I grew up thinking that we had been the biggest part of D Day. And for Trish to mention that the same is true of us all… Canada, the US, and Britain. And then the fact that you went and visited all three beaches… kudos to you guys. Hopefully this will have resonated with Caleb the same way it resonates to us… um… more mature folk. That must never happen again. Bless you for including this part of the trip. ❤
Thats a great comment and a great sentiment 🕊🌎 there are so many good hearted people in the World , we saw online so many file in to Valencia to help this week - perhaps good hearts and good deeds can prevail - communities like KYD are a great start
This was one of yalls best videos yet. Thank you for going to utah and Omaha beach landing sites. All 4 of my grandfathers landed on those beaches. All 4 of them made it home. 3 where in some of the worst battles of that war including the battle of the bulge. Im the 16th generation of my family to serve in the military. Im currently active duty in the Navy. Seeing yalls video has given me so much more purpose and pride of knowing that my family legacy has continued on from my grandfathers. Thank yall.
My son is only 14.5 yrs old but he is so much like Caleb. Pure sweet soul that loves his mama. My son tell me he loves me all the time in front of his friends. They tease him and he's like "hey that's my mama, yes I love her" 💞
When you were discussing beaches...all I knew was Juno as a Canadian, we always remember those lost on November 11th, we call it Remembrance Day up here and Juno Beach is talked about a lot. Lest we forget.
Marc, Trish, and Caleb absolutely one the best videos to date. Thank you so much for sharing your time at Omaha Beach and the cemetary with us. I’m sure it was a sobering experience. BTW loved the looks on your faces when Caleb showed up.
Thank you so much. I love how you didn't converse much during the Normandy segment, some moments just speak for themselves. I had a tear in my eye because my Dad "Pops" is a WWII Vet and also landed on Normandy 3 days after D-Day, and my uncle Thomas was KIA 12 days after landing at Normandy on 6/6/44. Rest in Peace to all those wonderful people who sacrificed so we could be here today.
Marc, you deserve an award for your filming. This was a remarkable episode. I have never thought that Normandy was a place I wanted to visit but you my friend have changed my mind and I feel so drawn to go now. Thank you
Grew up in Air Force family 3 years in France. First camping trip with my Dad and brother to Normandy where my Dad’s older brother was shot down. Wonderful memories tonight. Thanks guys.
Good to see you Kaleb. It’s been fascinating watching you and your siblings growing up in the back seat of a truck. You have experienced some amazing places. Y’all all had a good rounded life. Here you are in France checking out everything. Made your mom and dad happy. My uncle was there in the war he was a gunner in the army air force. They were shot down in France .French farmers hid him for 9 months and returned him back to his troop. He was 19 years old at the time.
My husband's grandfather was part of the D-day invasion. He served in the coast guard. The coordination, the political will, and the sacrifice of all those people from many different countries fighting for a cause greater themselves, for freedom from tyranny, is something we should never forget. Thank you for reminding us.
I hope yall get to (or already have) visit the National D-Day Museum in Bedford, VA (my hometown) with Caleb being so close at Liberty! I watch your videos at the gym so this was an interesting one cracking a HUGE grin at Caleb's surprise, and misting up at the end. Been a many-years follower and this is a sleeper hit. ❤
A visit to Normandy is high on my bucket list. To visit and remember the sacrifice of so many will leave those who visit with lasting memories. Caleb is so lucky to have the opportunity to learn about history. We recently visited Gettysburg and it was a moving experience. Even as Canadians we received a greater understanding of history. Caleb’s surprise was perfect! Even Mark looked shocked!! Enjoy your time in France. Keep the videos coming!
Happy to hear you acknowledge that there were other countries involved in D-day invasion. We are all proud and thankful to those that made the sacrifice on that day no matter where they came from. I have toured all the beaches and there is nothing like being there trying to imagine the horrors that happened.
We are from the San Francisco area and my husband and I enjoy your videos - went to Paris last November and loved it there - we both said your husband looks a bit like Justin Timberlake and you like Reese Witherspoon 😊
Caleb needs his on TH-cam channel. I would watch it. He is wasting his talent by not having one lol. He is funny and kind and he has a great way of looking at the world.
We visited Normandy in 2009. Took a train to Bayeux from Paris and had the most awesome tour guide. It really is worth having someone take you around to tell the stories. The people of that region are wonderful. Plus my 28th great grandfather William the Conqueror was from that region. Caleb is something else. Coming all that way to surprise you.
Thank you for going to these areas on your special season, and special it is, thanks to Caleb's surprise! My Dad will be returning to Normandy this December with The Battle of the Bulge Association for the 8th time, he just turned 100 in October! So for many reasons this is my favorite video you have made, Victoria's wedding is second favorite! Family is everything, you are blessed to have such a great family!
Thank you guys for taking us places we will never go and reminding us of the things we should NEVER forget! I pray future generations will hold places like this as dear as we do.
Excellent footage and editing, I was in tears at the end. Caleb dude you are a gem. Trish I need a chocolate croissant immediately, your bread is looking amazing.

I am French, I am 60 years old and I will never forget those who fell for France!!! Peace to their souls....
Freedom isn't free, something many have forgotten.
Well said my friend, well said.❤
So true.

Holy crap, this might be the first time I cried during one of your videos, thank you. And thank you to all that served.....
Me too. 😢
+1
So good to see Caleb. This episode brought tears to my eyes.
Me, too!
Caleb, I’ve missed you. You are so sweet to surprise your parents. I’m excited for your Mom. Be safe out there.

We visited about 20 years ago, and it's still a lasting memory. Such an important part of our history.
The cost of freedom is so high. Thankful for the brave. 🇺🇸♥️
What freedom?
It was a biais to put your hands above Europe:
American bases,NATO,AMGOT ,MARSHALL PLAN to introduce US products etc...
I blame US Government : the deep state ;not brave US GI's who losed there lives who where involved in a war bigger than them.
I luv your family so cheerful & your son is very charming , enjoy your stay in France 🇫🇷 welcome !!!

I Pray that one day there will be World Peace 🙏🙏🙏
Caleb said, “Mom, Dad, there is nowhere you will go that I will not find you.” 😂😂 ❤❤
i have watched your videos since you started, this was the very best episode so far, very emotional ending. Thank you for honoring our brave heroes.
We went in 2013. It was the best trip of my life. And you’re bringing back so much nostalgia for it. Thank you so much for doing this trip and the show. Enjoying it so much.
I just happened to watch this right after Veteran's day, very moving and a great reminder; we have to stay vigilant....never again!
Thank you so much for sharing, especially Normandy. As Caleb stood by the display, I was reminded that many of the young men there on D-Day were not much older than him.
Such a good point. I didn't make that connection when we were there, but that really puts it in perspective.
Thank you Trish, Marc and Caleb, just a fantastic episode! An absolutely beautiful ending.

Caleb always brings such joy with him. Thank you for sharing your life with us. You made Paris and Normandy move up on my journey list.
Watching this on Nov. 10, day before Veterans Day. Well done. Thank you to all who have served and are serving.

Thank you , every American should see this . experience what war is and why it should be avoided at all cost .
Marc, you've outdone yourself. A great, great video. Having served for 35 years, this brings tears to my eyes....
Normandy is one of the most spiritual and impactful places I have visited in my life! It is hallowed ground! Thanks for sharing.
I loveyour show. I have two daughters, one is a Doctor, one is a Nurse Practioner
I'm a Biologist that was attacked in Colorado and sustained a.TBI around 4 months ago..
I say all this to respond to the importance of having family and friends to laugh with and enjoy Life.
Which the Lord continues to provide.
Thank you for this video.
Mike
My new all time favorite! You are all amazing! Traveled to Paris this summer with the family. Will never forget it!
Well played, Caleb. Well played!
The love your family shares is so inspiring, what a great video! Sending lots of hugs from TX! 💗
I love your surprise. That was so great.

Mark and Trish, this video was probably the best you have produced YET!! BEAUTIFUL!!
To all who lost their lives…. Freedom isn’t free.
Caleb, you make me smile ear to ear! This is probably your most important video! May we all work together for a more peaceful and loving world!!

Viewers know when Caleb shows up its going to be a special epside both in content and charcter. Fabulousy done.

This might be one of my favorites. What an amazing family, and amazing experience.
Im not crying. You’re crying. That ending really hit me. Great video. Nice to see you on the channel Caleb. I love my adopted KYD fam. ❤️
Caleb needs his on TH-cam channel. I would watch it. He is wasting his talent by not having one lol. He is funny and kind and he has a great way of looking at the world.
Thank you for taking us along. Normandy Beach was very moving. And Caleb was a nice surprise 🩷
I was just so glad to see Caleb and when he moved to the middle of the back seat😂! Beautiful episode.🇺🇸🇺🇸
Caleb surprise- chef's kiss; Normandy- deep thanks
Pray for repose souls of those who fought for our freedom
❤🤍💙
Thank you for going to these areas on your special season, and special it is, thanks to Caleb's surprise! My Dad will be returning to Normandy this December with The Battle of the Bulge Association for the 8th time, he just turned 100 in October! So for many reasons this is my favorite video you have made, Victoria's wedding is second favorite! Family is everything, you are blessed to have such a great family!
Amazing!
"France is a third of your volume" 😂 Thanks for the laugh !!! 😉It is so true. We are so different in France and in the US about that 😂
