Loved doing this collab with you! Such helpful points. I love carrying a small purse because it helps me carry less - definitely an area that can get so messy! xoxo
the thing I started doing, to simplify, is keeping a 60 seconds rule. if I see something, that needs to be done, and I can do it within 60 seconds I do it.
I try to do the same. I also have begun to adopt this mindset of identifying what’s bothering me and trying to change it, starting with what’s in my house because all that is the easiest to change and surprisingly really affects my mood and productivity. Can be as small as the dishes stink every time I’m near the sink. Well then do them already! Or as big as, I don’t like this aspect of my job and trying to grow past it with education or finding a new job. It can also be applied to relationships and social life. Got it from Jordan Peterson.
I just paused your video for 5 minutes to delete some pictures on my phone. That felt so good! 😃 Thank you very much for this one 😍 now I can work on that every day and don‘t feel overwhelmed and quit 🤗
What I've done once, is I logged in to the photo center from my phone, loaded a bunch of photos I wanted to print from my phone, and ordered prints! Omg!!!!! Why have I not done that before?!!!! For some reason I was waiting for a good time to transfer the pictures to my desktop computer.... just do it from your phone straight to the printing service....
Hi do you use iPhone because I wanted to turn it now and i have problem with the password... i never set password and now i am asked for one to set up ....
Ive been watching your videos for like a week and its changed my life i litually wish i had been watching longer i love you because your videos have got me through a hard time and you have made things so much better thank you soo much i am never going to stop watching your videos❤️
I love how articulate you are and how well chosen your words are, very enjoyable to watch and listen to! Wonderful tips, I definitey need to apply some of these!
To improve focus and productivity, I follow the 3 tasks rule. I list down all the things I need done for a week and prioritize 3 most important and urgent each day. As a result, I get things done and gain a little more time for my sanity.
All excellent and I will be putting some of these to work today, thank you so much! Just to add to the breathing, if you take time to practice either deep breathing or box breathing, (in - twothreefour hold - twothreefour out - twothreefour hold - twothreefour) ( I call it waltz breathing) it will be immensely helpful when you get anxious or hurt yourself as you will just start breathing like that without thinking. I practice at least ten minutes a day and it has helped decrease the time of my panic attacks so much.
I use the “Do Not Disturb” function on my phone. It allows calls/texts ONLY from the essential ppl that I need to be able to talk with (in case of emergency) while I’m working/resting.
Now that in working from home I've recently decided to focus on going for a walk in the morning and going outside during breaks and over lunch to soak up some sun. I also like to do chores during the week so j di'nt have to do them on my days off. That is easier working from home too, I think.
Thank you ashlynne for another great video they really inspire me. And i was watching the other day and my boyfriend overheard. next thing i knew he decluttered 35 items of clothing. i was so shocked. so thanks for inspiring everyone x😁
I don't know how can I go for a walk anymore. Before I am really a extrovert but when I realize that I enjoy the silence in my own room, and I'm more comfortable alone, I don't go outside anymore. I don't know, it feels like I have a social anxiety now. I remember when my mom and I go outside, I'm not comfortable and I notice that my hands are shaking, and I'm just looking down, scared to meet people eyes.. I don't know what happened to me, I really thought before that maybe I'm just really introvert, but when I go outside I remember the signs of "social anxiety" that I've read online, and it's really defined me.
Great tips for especially like myself with 7 th grader, 10th grader grandchildren and their mom living here. To husband and adult son with stay at home. My daughter works from home. My husband goes in. But everyone finds the skill to know I’m the go to. When’s dinner to where are you! Quiet time, hydrate and focus!
Today I went through all my cards. I put envelopes with cards. I put them in categories so I would know exactly what I have. I cleaned out half of the cabinet and was able to put my dishes that I don’t use every day but I did not want to get rid of them yet. I love your videos. Thank you.
At the beginning of each month I organize my daughters closet into outfits for the month. I can grab and go for 30 days at a time. It definitely speeds up the process of getting her ready for school.
Omg literally every time she say a new tip I go to like and then I remember that I already liked before 😂 very helpful hope many youtubers are like you
Heck yes! To preparing clothes the night before. I have been doing it for years. It's been such a huge improvement. In terms of screen time, I actually find it helpful to delete social media apps and use them only when I want to post (which is very rare) because I have school during the year.
I already loved your videos Ashlyn, specially to the fact that you're a tea lover like me, and now am also subscribed to Megans channel. Thank you so much to you for always reminding me on intentional living and minimalism.
i've been researching about how to start minimalism and have a more productive set of mind, and im so glad i have found this channel! i plan on watching lots of your videos :)
carrying a water bottle is the best advice. Not only it reminds u to drink, but also the more u drink, the less you carry... lol also I like the advice on timing yo tasks esp annoying ones. Like decluttering photos etc. 10 min a day is totally doable. But I put it off EVERY day bc when I just think about how much needs to be done, I don't do it at all.
I agree a lot of these are excellent. I always pick my dress at night I am that Mary popins lol but I have little bags in my tote bag and always have everything I need. Your adorable and I enjoy your videos thanks
Such a good video, thank you so much! :) I have a long morning routine with everything in it what is important for me to do in my life every day (for example reading, sport, dancing, writing, going outside).
Love the writing your agenda down the previous night. And I one thing I do it's not pressing the snooze button, just get up! But I need to sleep earlier lol love the video x
Something that I do is to never leave the room empty-handed. I forgot which TH-camr mentioned this, but since then, I have always scanned the room I’m in before leaving and taken with me anything that doesn’t belong and placed it in its proper location. If it’s a cup in a bedroom and I’m planning to get a snack, then I’ll drop off the cup since I’m going to the kitchen anyway. It’s a mindful habit that becomes second-nature with time and I love it!
Ashley what a great video, the tips you gave today were so valuable. I am going to start the digital photo deck utter later on today. I have photos spanning across 3 apps and need to simplify! Can’t wait to go watch Meghans video.
One thing I do to simplify is dedicate a small corner of my closet to a Donate Box. Every time I come across something that I don’t need/want anymore, I put it in the Donate box immediately. Then when I buy something that comes in a box, I take the old one to Goodwill and replace it with the new box. Helps keep the stuff moving out of your house, and is great for when I get a gift or purchase something that replaces an item I don’t need anymore. I know right where it goes!
I loved this :) I really like the 5 min a day photo declutter, the eating mindfully with no distractionsans speaking kindly suggestions I can definitely compliment those .
Hello Ashlynne!, I'm Mariana, I have to confess that is the first time that I see youtube videos in English. I keep my phone on mute for everything except phone calls. If someone calls me it is probably important. And very few spam calls get through my filter. Everything that isn't a phone call must not be that important. Even at work, when someone texts me... If it is truly important they will call and if I don't respond to texts right away I MUST be working too hard to notice... Or so they can assume.
I have loved both your videos, and Megan's for a while now! I was excited to see the collab😄. I think it's so powerful to minimize visual clutter like cords, it's one of the many things I love about minimalism. Awesome content!
This is d very first time i saw ur video and i just love d way u carry a smile on ur face throughout d video ... I'm sure I'm gonna follow ur channel ...
The Gemeni app is a literal game changer when it comes to deleting unnecessary pictures on your phone!!! It groups your photos into blurry photos, multiples of the same photos, photos of pieces of papers, and other superrrr helpful categories to sort through and delete unnecessary photos on our phone!!!
WOOOOOW I TOTALLY LOVE YOUR PERSONALITY AND CONTENT 💖💖 seriously you're so sweet and positive, and the videos really have great content. Congratulations, definitely a new fan ✌🏻
Thank you so much for these tips. Found you through Meghan and has now subscribed 👍 Just spend a few minutes to delete photos on my phone and deleted apps that don't serve me anymore.
Focusing on one thing at a time is a little more difficult when you’re a parent, I will say that. There’s so much going on in our brains! For example if I took a walk with my kids, it’s great to try and focus on the trees and the nature around me, but part of my brain also needs to be focusing on the safety of my children. If I am working at home, and my kids are home, my focus is always divided. It’s hard; not impossible, but hard.
Somedays I do feel stress or bored yesterday I cleaned under the sink and it looked better. And I do have lots of pictures I do need to delete some and shoes I'm not wearing time to give them to my mom.
Ashlynne Eaton oh darn. Well thank you for getting back. I’m about 45min from Charlotte I live in Clover SC. I thought it was cool your were local. I’ve been enjoyed your videos. Nice to meet you! 🥰
Thank you for what you taught us because for one ideology it reminded me of what I derived earlier from another lesson which was to keep a catalogue inventory of all my different types of material. Don’t be a stranger now equally by please responding back at least about your justified memory jog I just mentioned because I am even always on the lookout to be able to be of that sort of assistance myself but now if you’ll excuse me then I now have to run…
How do minimalist wear/use a small purse? I've tried it so manny times. But if I go to work and bring my lunch I have a glass container of soup, glass container with Nuts, apple, banana and my work clothes. And my wallet, phone and Keys. (They fit in a small purse) And in the weekend i take a tripp to the library. Or do grosery shopping. And then again a small purse doesn't the job. So i always feel a maximalist because my purse is a totem bag 😮 (i use the same for over a decade haha)
This continues to be a huge problem for me as well because there are so many thing I really want to take with me! I always wear or have a jacket and have my every day carry~ a little zippered bag (6"×4") that holds my cards/cash, travel headache stuff, lipgloss, keys, etc., which goes in one pocket, my phone goes into the other pocket. I have an amazing ukoala purse (awesome for going places you want to be hands free), a canvas bag (to go crafting at a friend's house or shopping), and a backpack (usually for overnights) when I *have to* carry more. I was amazed at how little I actually need on a regular day 😀

Ooh! Screen time limits! I only just got a phone with this function. Going to turn that on today!
I didn’t even know my phone had it! This is great😄

I eat the same thing every day and I love it. Planning, shopping and controlling my inclination to overeat become easy.

I like your " outfit formula".
Hi! I found you via suggested videos, and then went and saw Meghans video and loved her too! Win in one day to find 2 such lovely personalities :)
Oh that’s so incredible Anja! I love it 🥰
One thing I do to simplify is dedicate a small corner of my closet to a Donate Box. Every time I come across something that I don’t need/want anymore, I put it in the Donate box immediately. Ps, when I was transitioning between houses during my last move, ALL of my things fit into a single car garage.
I declutter monthly. And if I must buy something I take something out.😍
Me encantó el video ideas súper fáciles de aplicar. Gracias!
I loved this :) I really like the 5 min a day photo declutter, the eating mindfully with no distractionsans speaking kindly suggestions I can definitely compliment those .

Thank you so much for these tips. Found you through Meghan and has now subscribed 👍 Just spend a few minutes to delete photos on my phone and deleted apps that don't serve me anymore.
That’s so awesome Jeanette! Love how you’re already taking action. And thanks for subscribing! 🤍

"Carry less with you, it'll provide a sense of freedom"
My anxiety does not agree with that.
Also as a health worker I do have to carry more than I "need".
Being multifunctional is the essence of womanhood.

Thanks for theses tips so helpful. Glad I landed on your video, this is the 1st time I am visiting :)
such a nice video. What brand is your top if you don't mind me asking
(They fit in a small purse)
And in the weekend i take a tripp to the library.
I was amazed at how little I actually need on a regular day 😀
Im new to your channel what should I write in my bullet journal
I am gonna watch all of your videos.
