Unpopular opinion here- I love quarantine life. I have had no choice but to slow down. I do things I want to do right now. I don’t have to go anywhere or rush to anything. I haven’t set an alarm in months. So much sucks about life right now, but slowing down has been wonderful!

    3. Focus on the big picture
    4. Limit your screen time
    5. Savor small moments

LOVE! I gave up my career and fast-paced, ambitious life in NYC a few years ago to have a simpler, slower life in a small village in France. And I never thought I would enjoy it as much as I do! There really is so much happiness gained when we focus on those simple delights and that comes when we slow down and pause more in our everyday. I make videos all about slow living and joy; it's an important thing to think about in our modern age :) Thank you for your insight videos!

As an introvert with not many friends, I find that social media has been a huge learning process for me when it comes to finding the right balance. My boyfriend currently lives in another state, and a couple of his friends (that he met through Discord) are mine as well. I will say what helps me the most with social media is clearing my browsing history, removing unwanted bookmarks or apps, or even just taking a full, one or two day detox if needed.

By far, your best video ever. I have been bingeing on them, and I love this so much, took down notes and will rewatch till I really live in them. Your youth does not define you at all, you speak with so much substance, ideas which I have not heard or listened to from my age and even older people than me. Keep it up, Ashlynne!

With the onset of covid-19 one of my personal hopes was that more people would gradually be reminded in more concrete ways about the preciousness, the brevity, and the beauty and contentment that can be found by living life in the moment.

Thank you for the video♥️♥️♥️♥️ for me slow living has been realizing how much I love paper and ink, and going back to writing my things in notebooks instead of on my phone. It’s a hobby for me, collecting different kinds of notebooks and paper, I get excited to write as I do to just draw, and it’s practical and beautiful. I’ve been feeling so happy since I started incorporating it into my days. It’s just me and my beautiful notebook, I’m thankful and I love and appreciate those moments. ♥️♥️♥️ thank you so much for the beautiful video! And how important indeed about hobbies! I do know people as well that don’t have any...I think it’s so important to try to enrich our lives with enjoyable and meaningful things to do. Thank you so much!!!!♥️♥️♥️

I was saving writing full time and traveling for retirement and I always try to look at what I've done so far and determine if it's really what I want. I worried about wasting time so I couldn't enjoy moments, but if I no longer do something - it was worth getting me here. I no longer believe in timeline checkpoints

    • @AshlynneEaton
      @AshlynneEaton  4 ปีที่แล้ว

That’s an amazing shift in viewpoint! And you’re so right! We can always wait longer to do those things, but we only have one life, so we shouldn’t wait until we reach at certain age to start enjoying life and doing the things we are passionate about 🤍

I think your content is really great. I know a lot of younger people talk fast these days. Would you consider the rate of speed in your speech? It's not that it's not understandable, but your content is on slow living and many of us need a place to come and listen with a slower, more soothing tone rather than an excited one. It's nothing personal like I said. Just a little bit of contractive critisim.

Hey Ashlynne, could you do a vid on your plants: what kind they are, scientific name and nickname, plants similar to them, their benefits, and how to take care of each one? I just bought a few plants and some of them didn't even have the name labelled on them. So a video about your plants would be really helpful! 🌿

LOVE! I make videos all about slow living! :) Time is my most important currency. So I practice slow living by saying "no" more! That looks like taking on less responsibilities, setting intentional goals based on my values, setting boundaries with my time and focusing more on what I DO have! :)

Whenever I begin to feel rushed in an activity I ask myself, "What is my intention?" This slows me down to enjoy the moment as it stands rather than speed through life without direction. A little bit of mindfulness goes a long way!

    Hey Ashlynne, great video! :)
I was wondering if maybe you'd do a video discussing being content with what you have and where you are in your minimalism journey. A lot of times, I get so caught up in the end goal of where I want to be and the investments I want to make, that I lose sight of the actual goal in mind, end up spending MORE money than necessary at that particular time, and end up with more clutter than I need. Any tips or tricks???

Dear Ashlynnn, I love your content on slow living! However I am a person who greatly takes pleasure in small things, sunsets, coffee, books etc. But as a busy nursing student I have a difficult time slowing down. My mind is always a million miles a minute. I also understand that we share the Christian faith and I want to get better at slowing down. But when I do I struggle because I feel "bored" because I'm not actively doing something (or it doesn't feel that way). I want to enjoy silence and such but I'm struggling with that concept. How do I make it easier? Got any tips?

What you normally do it you can't sleep at night ,I mean do you keep doing your normal morning routine the next day or you take the day off ,because I really can't sleep at night and I stay at bed until I get sleep and woke up at 17h 😞😨help me I'm super lost 😥

If I really can’t get to sleep, and occasionally that happens, I’ll set my alarm for an hour later. I still make sure I get up at a reasonable time, but I try to give myself a little bit of extra sleep on those nights 🤍

I felt the same way. But I knew I wanted and needed to slow down. So I go to bed an hour earlier, so I can wake up an hour earlier. Having that hour in the morning really helps start the day with less stress. Try looking at how much time you spend on social media, watching tv, or even TH-cam (none of those are obligations).

I've been watching your videos for over a year. I've been a fan of your content. I'm disappointed that you haven't used your platform to support Black people and say that Black Live Matter. Please correct me if I'm mistaken.

Hey Sydney! I did actually talk about this issue in a community post in which I shared some of my favorite black creators, ones who I’ve learned from and have inspired me for weeks, months, or years. Know that absolutely I believe that black lives matter. And if you want to learn more about where I stand + what I’m doing I’d encourage you to read the post. Hope this helps! 🖤

Speak slowly. Make actual sentences, not just one loooong sentence without a pause. Take a breath. Slow down. Practice what you are trying to preach.😿

Thought this was going to be a good video until you stressed me out by throwing a commercial right in the middle of it. Nice info but if you throw in commercials in the middle of your video each time, I’m going to pass on your videos. All the best to you👍
