Thank you (and thanks to the great guys at Nova Musik for the terrific production). The KOPro does not take batteries... its additional lighting and functionality requires more juice than would be practical with batteries. We weren't trying to replace the Kaossilator... we just wanted to give it a big brother. :)
@Novamusik The KOPro does the same thing. This is actually very useful when you have the note range set to two octaves, and you want to get to the middle root... Just touch both the left and right edges!
1. Yes, you can definitely control the EMX-1 using the X/Y pad, as well as most of the other controls on the front panel. 2. The new Gate Arp does not have the selectable patterns from the original Kaossilator. Instead, it has continually variable gate and speed control, allowing you to "play" the arpeggiator as part of the instrument.
The KOPro can record external audio into the four Loop Recorder banks. We didn't demonstrate it here, but you can very easily connect a music player (or any other source) and incorporate it into your performance.
The KOPro receives CC messages for pad touch on/off and X/Y finger position, but does not receive note data. If you have a MIDI controller that can send customizable CC messages from the keys, it will work. Otherwise, you'll need a computer (with a MIDI DAW solution) in between the keys and the KOPro.
You are one of the best demo dudes on TH-cam. Korg has really got their act together. My electronic music gear is 80% Korg products and the percentage is growing.
Me too - and I'm 'bout to order one of these. My set up is all korg, plus a moog and a vintage Yamaha MIDI controller.... Wish the electribes still had tubes, tho! Love tubes....
If you can get into the easy to use touch pad on the Kaossilator Pro Plus, as an alternative to keyboards, you'll never regret getting it. This device enables you to make incredible loop banks and with a little finesse, perfectly played leads. A fantastic accompaniment pad and dynamic synth machine. It's a miracle.
@kandarv- No, it registers a single touch. If you touch in two different places, you'll see the pad light up between the two spots you're touching... which can actually be very useful for finding specific notes.
@hereosinerror- You can use the effects/vocoder presets on external audio (including recording into the Loop Banks), but not the internal sounds or pre-existing loops.
@thehumaneyeball Tons of things. I takes input for sampling and recording external sources. On the output side of it you would likely integrate it into live applications or your studio setup... It connects up like most electronic instruments do.
Damn one thing I wish they made it easier to control the KO-PRO remotely, especially the record. Easy enough to trigger each of the banks, once recorded via MIDI, but it would be really cool to record into them via midi too. Also, what’s the difference between the KO-PRO and the PRO+
@riddimshakk Honestly they are lots of fun to play with and we can see some creative types integrating them into their studio or live set. And they aren't real pricey... just a little more than a KP3
MIDI misery MIDI compatibility was one of the main features we thought would improve the Kaossilator, so the arrival of MIDI ports on the Pro got us seriously excited. Unfortunately, MIDI implementation.Firstly, it doesn't support standard note data. The X-Y coordinates are instead sent and received as CC values, meaning that if you want to play the internal synth instruments using a MIDI controller or DAW you'll need to find a way of converting notes to CC.
i just sold my kp3s and kaossilator because i thought it was dumb to have three things to act as one perfect instrument. im so glad i did! this thing looks amazing! also, he needs to stop saying 'other worldly'
Anyone know where to download the software to convert the Pro samples into WAV/AIFF and vice versa!? I'm stumped and waiting on confirmation to access the Korg forums!
what if i plugged, say, an electric guitar into the mic jack or a midi electronic drumpad into the 'midi in' slot, will i be able to apply effects to what im playing?
WOW...WHAT BIT OF KIT !! But I can't afford one !! I'm hoping that this new pro version will bring down the price of the first little kaossilator on ebay !! :) So I can afford one of those instead !
Hi, I am going to purchase a Kaossilator Pro for the purpose of making music tracks. I am considering also purchasing either the Microkorg XL or the PA50 Arranger. I do not have any software so wondered what would be best to make music tracks? This is going to sound really stupid but I used to use Ejay arranging software, what computer programs can sequence songs in a similar manner? Thanks for any help/advice. Bryn
Does anyone know if the sounds that are coming from the Kaossilator pro are from the software program or are those the sounds that come with it before using the software???
Say you over-dub on one of the lower ABCD pads, how do you delete one of the over-dubs without wiping out all the sounds recorded to it? They do not come with memory cards right? Where can you buy them? Also, the protective sheet that comes with it is way too small and slides around as you drag your fingers over the pad. Anyway of avoiding that without removing the protective pad?
@Brainbox97 First of all, if you click delete loop it will delete everything that you've assigned to the given pad (only has 4 pads to assign sounds to). Second, I just bought the Kaos Pro, and it says right in the manual that it DOES NOT COME WITH MEMORY CARD. The only way your getting a memory card when you buy it is if you get it off of some freelance company who is giving out some kind of deal. I got mine from Guitar Center.
Hey I wonder if anyone could help me? Im in a pop-punk band and I play a korg x50 at the moment. I was wondering if this would be a good addition to my performance live. I prefer using hard synths because I feel like too much can go wrong with soft synths, but I heard about this and I thought it was awesome. Any suggestions on what I should get / do next ??
I am debating buying this or the miniAK. If this can be used with an mpk for sounds along with the other features, hands down winner. Anybody have insite on this little box as a syth module? Thanks
So you can record progressions/sounds from an external source such as fl studios or ableton into the kaosscilator is that correct? Sorry im just trying to figure things out before i go out and buy something haha if you or anyone with knowledge on this could write back itd be much appreciated!
@todzillarockz51 on their own they get limited, certainly if you embed them into an existing set up, or even linking two together, your options start expanding rapidly, it's what you do, not what it is.
I wntd to ask smthn!! cn the kaossilator pro get music from my mp3 player and i cn put different effects on that ?? and cn i have it as a deck with my DJ set and cross fade it with another deck??
This is the first time I heard you can use midi,. So I can use this with my M3, Or oasys right??? sorry I'm old and still playing ancient prog music. I was getting a new ribbon controller yet this seems to be more dimensional. BTW, you are the only folks that respond to questions. I have a 3 week old email to Korg in. I probably have at least 25k in Korg products , and no help.I'm not crying I just need a few answers
@Novamusik if i beatbox into the mic, will i be able to apply the synths to my own recorded beatboxing? Real time, so as i beatbox into the mic i want the sound to instantly come out very distorted and malleable.
have 2 kaosspad kp3 , but wonder Y i didnt get one kaossilater and on kp3 :S now i just have to get a kaossilator :S hehe might have to sell my gixxer but how gives A =) looks real fun to play with geting the same feeling when i first got my eyes on berdyman with his kp3`s got to get a kaossilater =) and btw nice demo
sorry, but why is it not possible to load a loop from the SD card while the K-PRO is playing??? when you press the load button, it stops playing? this doesn't make sense at all, cause you wanna load loops from the SD card during a live session... is there any way to make this happen? thanks in advance!
Chris Lannigan youd probs have to export each pad band or sound via usb to computer then drop into ableton. Ableton could handle time stretching tempo changes BUT the Kaossilator tempo change once recorded changed the pitch of banks playback.
Absolutely, you can record unlimited layers of external audio, the same way you can with the internal sounds.
Thank you (and thanks to the great guys at Nova Musik for the terrific production). The KOPro does not take batteries... its additional lighting and functionality requires more juice than would be practical with batteries. We weren't trying to replace the Kaossilator... we just wanted to give it a big brother. :)

I'll let you know. Looks like it's not in stock right now - alas! Musicians Friend just dropped the price a bunch - hallelujah!
@samartini1 We'll make the software editor available when the KAOSSILATOR PRO is shipping.
@kandarv- No, it registers a single touch. If you touch in two different places, you'll see the pad light up between the two spots you're touching... which can actually be very useful for finding specific notes.
1:12 sounded exactly like the wall-e sound. Really awesome!
True!
Thats probably one of the best roundups on this superb bit of kit ive seen yet! Got one now😜
@demonhendy It does have sounds from the original KAOSSILATOR as well as many newer sounds, including 4-zone sampled drum programs.
Much better demo than the Namm footage. The extra camera view allows us to see the true functionality of the KPRO.
@philippics No, interacting with the SD card (loading, saving) will stop playback of the Loop Recorder Banks.
@hereosinerror- You can use the effects/vocoder presets on external audio (including recording into the Loop Banks), but not the internal sounds or pre-existing loops.
I can't wait to get this for x-mas. I'm making nothing but Synth-Wave and Industrial music.
I can't wait to get one of these to use with an acoustic guitar. Finally a fun way for a "band in a box" sound.
I just bought one a few weeks ago, and though I agree he makes it look super easy, it's really not that hard to make some awesome music with it!
amazing device...must get one immediately
@thehumaneyeball Tons of things. I takes input for sampling and recording external sources. On the output side of it you would likely integrate it into live applications or your studio setup... It connects up like most electronic instruments do.
killer demo - this guy know his stuff!
aaaaaaaah I came too. My Kaossilator is allready jealous seeing this big bros' fine performance.
This is a must have unit!
@GoodVibesX No, you can only arpeggiate the sounds you're currently playing.
Hi, great demo btw. I saw many of them but there's no demo with explanation about what the tumbler right below the KORG logo does. What does it do?
@DarkGriffin13 For sure. The KO PRO has all the features of the original Kaossilator and more
Just a got a used one on Ebay. Love it!!
Damn one thing I wish they made it easier to control the KO-PRO remotely, especially the record. Easy enough to trigger each of the banks, once recorded via MIDI, but it would be really cool to record into them via midi too. Also, what’s the difference between the KO-PRO and the PRO+

@Zkrudriverz- Yes, and yes. :)
@daeser1 there's a delete loop button on the kaossilator pro and it comes with a 2gb sd card
i have this. why am i watching this video instead of playing on my kopro?! jeez!
i sold my bed to get this, was smart idea in the end, i can't sleep with this around
ok. thanks for clearing that up.
Great video! You keep it interesting and don't waste it time with blabla.
thats awesome. thanks.
great stuff!
@Gigler43 Yes we still offer the Korg backpack along with the Kaossilator Pro
@Novamusik thank you :)
Excellent
Anyone know where to download the software to convert the Pro samples into WAV/AIFF and vice versa!?
I'm stumped and waiting on confirmation to access the Korg forums!
@filmmaker91361 Heh it's actually a Quiklok BS-336 speaker stand :)
i'm gonna give this to my kid when i grow up
@KorgUSAVideos thanks KORG :)
bought it today :)
what if i plugged, say, an electric guitar into the mic jack or

Hey! I just bought one of yours from amazon! do I get this cool bag? hahaha

@demonhendy I emailed Rich about your question. We will see what he says about it and I'll post a reply :)
@Killable1337
I heard that too but i think he said "gate arp" as in gate arpeggiator
@Brainbox97 First of all, if you click delete loop it will delete everything that you've assigned to the given pad (only has 4 pads to assign sounds to). I might just get this to fuck around with!
I WANT IT!
Hey I wonder if anyone could help me?

I dream of hooking this bad boy to reason and ableton and going nuts. I need this instrument.
I want this so bad! I want his shirt to lol
I am debating buying this or the miniAK. If this can be used with an mpk for sounds along with the other features, hands down winner. Anybody have insite on this little box as a syth module? Thanks

genio gracias
Kaossilator Pro's Now in stock!!!
This is the first time I heard you can use midi,. So I can use this with my M3, Or oasys right??? sorry I'm old and still playing ancient prog music. A decent demo of the Pro at last. The Namm demos really didn't do it justice.
how I can use the gate arp button on triplets.?
is it possible to connect via midi in my moog minitaur to the midi out of the kaossilator pro? Can i use the kaossilator as a midi sequencer or key?
hi, I really like the synth but can I use this in combination with my tyros1?
so I can play loops on my keyboard and record them on the kaossilator
can i connect my keyboard to it...
actully im nt gettin what exactly dis instrument is...
plzz help...
is this a good thing to purchase for someone looking to produce their own music?
@Novamusik if i beatbox into the mic, will i be able to apply the synths to my own recorded beatboxing? Real time, so as i beatbox into the mic i want the sound to instantly come out very distorted and malleable.
@MrJ3ly Maybe you need a KaossPAd 3 in this case.
You can search for beardyman videao, he uses up to 4 Kaospad 3 together in his performances ;)
@FuturedaveyP thank you man :)
@demonhendy It does. All 100 plus 100 new ones.
wow 2 gb's hey
can we upload our own sounds, samples and loops into it then?
have 2 kaosspad kp3 , but wonder Y i didnt get one kaossilater and on kp3 :S
now i just have to get a kaossilator :S hehe
might have to sell my gixxer but how gives A =) looks real fun to play with
geting the same feeling when i first got my eyes on berdyman with his kp3`s
got to get a kaossilater =) and btw nice demo
He said you can record tracks from an outside microphone? Is this true?
CizreK yup. And you can make use of the cocoder😬
And i think if youre careful you might be able to shove a loop thru the vocoder too. Has anyone tried looping it back on itself?😂
sorry, but why is it not possible to load a loop from the SD card while the K-PRO is playing??? when you press the load button, it stops playing? this doesn't make sense at all, cause you wanna load loops from the SD card during a live session...
is there any way to make this happen? thanks in advance!
so is this what masta mic uses?
@posiedonpowertrio Well of course it is! But then again, we are a little biased... :D
Can this be used in fl studio
@philippics I asked Rich about this. I'll post a reply shortly.
@cudi1is3god Yes. I tested this out personally.
so since this has midi in, does that mean you can use an external midi keyboard to control the synth patches?
can it detect 2 or more fingers at once?
has the KAOSSILATOR PRO also the sounds off the normal KAOSSILATOR?
or just new sounds?
I am next....!!!!
hi, may I ask for a feedback on my question pls? can you load a loop from SD card while playing? thx
How do you put the record on to wav. file? And can the song be transferred into Ableton?
Chris Lannigan youd probs have to export each pad band or sound via usb to computer then drop into ableton. Ableton could handle time stretching tempo changes BUT the Kaossilator tempo change once recorded changed the pitch of banks playback.
why limit this to only a 2GB card? one of my few (but serious) setbacks on buying this...
wow what the hell can this thing not do? i want one
DUDE...........WANT.
@2:00- gotta love the gaydar
LOL! it looks exactly like a KP3 xD
7:14 you can also play a mean game of snake
Dude looks like he's "EAST BOUND AND DOWN!"
