I have been clean and sober for a little over a year.I spent 3 months in residential treatment and the last 10 months in a sober living environment.These lectures and his two books have helped me turn my life around.Half of my childhood and my entire adult life ive been drinking and using drugs ive been violent a liar and a bad father i blamed everything and everyone else for my bad behavior and my suffering , i have been able to become the hero in my story not the victim in someone elses i couldnt have done this without you sir!Thank you from the bottom of my heart god bless

I feel so overwhelmed by Jordan Peterson. I never thought anyone or anything could make me feel so hopeless in the idea of how much potential I wasted in my earlier years but simultaneously so hopeful and excited for what I can make of myself regardless.

@@revrodrigueza8489 seems like an apt comparison as Jung saw the myth of Adam and Eve as a parable of the coming of consciousness and that realisation feels like just that. I feel for me at least it was a very synchronis moment when I had rhe realisation as I had just ending my degree to become a psychotherapist and I was asking myself what the hell am i doing, my past shows me hiw not ready I am for what lays ahead, I was scared of being awake because I was asleep, to sound horrendously corny.

I hope Jordan Peterson sees this. I showed my 16 year old your videos due his views on young men in society. He really identifies with them, and they inspire him to be a better person.Thank you so much for being one ( of many in history ) to be a first bird to catch a good deal of the arrows. Aye aye indeed. JP has the way of words and demeanor of a disciplined gentleman. He speaks in a way that won't allow a serious viewer to leave without more questions than they already had. And through that, challenges one to look further into themselves further than they otherwise might think to. Such a human's human.
I've been able to evaluate myself honestly and with a sense of hope.
Amazing how JP imparts the most important things about our selves that we all know intrinsically, but choose to ignore because our eyes are inundated with media rubbish that noone actually feels in real life.

I'll restate how absurd it is that this is free. I've listened to this, while driving to and from houses (I'm a real estate agent) probably twice now and it's like a good book. It keeps on giving. 10/10
I have those 12 rules printed and framed in my house, i'm gonna try to explain them to my kids as they grow up, and hopefully try to understand them quite deeply myself one day 😅

I've heard people say this alot... but I disagree.
His following shows us that his way of thinking is more common than any other, we were simply missing the academic championship that he brings.
He has made the majority relevant and brings hope that we were lead to believe was lost. That's my take on Peterson.
@@12Ashander you have a point, I think it's something more like he found a way to decipher something which the majority knows and feels, but the majority largely fails to comprehend and communicate. Which is a very important piece of the puzzle for seeking our purpose in the world.
@@azurezerox8392 exactly. He's shining a light on the depth and importance of the role gender plays in human history and its future, how breaking those norms impacts both genders, and even why those norms exist.
He is able to take both physcological and biological evidence we all knew had to exist and articulate in a way that we all knew it could be articulated.
But not just gender. He examines the racial divide, socialism and democracy, geography and religion, tying them all together in a sensical package that just makes a crapload of sense that his opposition cannot match.
We needed someone to do this. Badly.
Jordan Peterson helped me out of my depression, 2017 was so close to ending my time here, looking back, not just the words of wisdom he spoke, but his voice and the delivery. You have been light to many when we were in dark, God bless you!

You know, I watched this last night. And today I had my martial arts test. Peterson, my friends, my family, all rooting for me got me through 5 hours of vigorous training and I passed my martial arts test. This man is too good for this world truly.

The Part from 1:13:20 to 1:19:27 is, to me, one of the most powerful there has ever been. Fundamental truth that everyone should hear and internalize!

I am in the 1st percentile for orderliness and 98th percentile for openness to experience as well as assertiveness. Jordan Peterson is the only reason that I have done anything at all toward planning my life out.
I am not good with vocabulary so I don't understand like 30% of the message it conveys.
But man he has improved my life holistically.
I am obeying him for like a year now and it has improved my academics as well as health.
But most importantly it has made me 3x more effective than I was a year ago.

It warms my heart when he smiles and laughs. Wish he would do that more so i'd know he was happy. I know that being happy isn't high on his priority list but i want that for him. He deserves it after all the good he does for people.
Dr. Peterson has continued to enrich my life. My father has been in many respects the guider and intellectual light in my life. As his age has taken little bits of this from him, Dr. Peterson has filled them in.
I like how he often flails his hands around. It shows how much he cares to death about what he's talking about

@@etc6615 He could've been a student of his. The guy is old and taught at multiple universities. Not only that but even before Jordan ended up blowing up on youtube, his papers were very popular, and he did write a few books that people might have read earlier than the TH-cam scene.

I've only heard the wording "anointed of God" in Charismatic Christian communities. When discussing the impact Jordan and his message(s) have had on me over the years I've described him as my surrogate pastor.
When conversing about Peterson with a Conservative Christian he expressed how he appreciated Jordan, but then almost dismissively expressed how he figured him out and moved on. This Christian is a bright guy, but IMO too narrow-minded for his own good. He judged Jordan as an "Atheist", thus, not much more to listen to.
Agree: God has anointed Jordan for this unique time for a unique calling.

I dont mean to sound repetitive or cliche.. but I made every mistake a man could make, and was counting down the days, isolated in my apartment.. when I stumbled upon your message... at first I was merely entertained by your ability to linguistically tame even the fiercest critics.. but when I watched your lectures on the 12 rules for life.. and then the biblical series on your channel.. it took maybe a month, to pull myself out of the mire. My daughter knows her father now.. 1% better every day. Im unstoppable. Thank you.
I've listened to you for years. This was recommended to me again and I was happy to revisit it as we often learn something we missed the first time when revisiting something.
You were speaking about our mortality and I thought about you, that one day this world would be left with a gapping hole in it.
Then I started thinking about how it would impact me. Thought about how I would have to go to your funeral because of the impact you have had in my life.
That the dad I needed when I needed him most came into my life in such a profound way because the insanity of our society elevated you to prominence and fame for speaking truth and refusing to be compelled to speech by your government and university.
This moved me to tears which I quickly fought off, because I'm a man damnit!
If I had to boil down the one thing you taught me that moved me the most in a time I needed it most: "pick up the heaviest thing you can carry and carry it. Don't carry so much that you become immobilized and don't carry so little that you never grow".

i think world isnt real. World is created by our senses. for example how do you know mobile phone ur using is real ? you will say i can see and feel ok if we take away ur sense of touch and vision the mobile phone doesnt exist for u does it? so nothing is real. Give ur thoughts in this.
Another is. what was there before big bang? i think the creation of universe and destruction is like a pendulum. I think there was universe before big bang it got destroyed by collapsing and again exploded and again it will get destroyed by collapsing and again big bang and the cycle will continue. give your thoughts on this.

I'm busy reading the 12 Rules For Life and, finally, at the age of 58 I am only beginning to "get" certain aspects of life now! After a terrible childhood, mainly because of a brutal/clever father who was a psychologist, I have finally found a real man. Jordan is a true gentleman, a realist, kind and honest to the t. My words cannot do justice to his intillect and humanity. And - as someone else said in the comment section - his lectures and so much of his wisdom is free.
In a way, Dr. Peterson is a prophet. I can't think of anyone who speaks wisdom the way he does.
We LOVE YOU, Mr. Peterson. We love your integrity and your whit. You are smart and a shining light for us all. Get well and get better every day. Love to you and your family. God bless you.
It’s really really tough now. I got laid off twice because of the pandemic and deferring my post grad study because I can’t pay the bills and the cost of studying abroad. I am actively applying for part times and considering selling things that I owned. All the stress is heavy on my existing relationship. I hope people who have the same problem as I do to not give up and know that it is worth striving for.

As much as I would Love to see him in a national leadership position in any country…I don’t know who would be able to fill his position doing what he’s doing now. We need him right where he is so that we all can continue to benefit from his wisdom. I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have these videos to listen to at 3:00 AM when I drive in to work with tears in my eyes and my courage torn to shreds inside me. I can’t get out of bed without knowing I’ll be able to listen to Dr Petersen on my way to work.
I love Dr. Petersen and I trust his integrity, the issue however, is that he is like the Sun in a world of flashlights . That said. I was an honor student in college and most professors are intolerant of any opinion, that does not come from them. I knew it, so I quickly learned that as long as someone else grades your work, let them, " tell you, then tell them what you heard, then tell them what they told you in your own words." You'll get rewarded for it. Leave your learning up to your own exploration. Remember you will always have the freedom within your own head... nobody needs to know. God bless Dr. Petersen, I wish the world was better than it is. But, it is not. You have to play the game...An A to B+ , really does matter if you want to go to graduate school. Students are created by the system...the system is broken and so are the students. I think that he probably knows that too.

If I ever see Jordan in my life (which I will try to do), I'm gonna cry, I'm pretty sure I'll cry, and thank him. And I don't even cry that often.
This man is a worldly treasure. It's not only his intellect but the way he's able to present his ideas in a way that deeply impacts those who hear them. He can present on topics where the final answer seems so simple and obvious, but break down precisely why that is in ways you may have never considered. He thinks so much more deeply, even on simple subjects, than the average person. Even more than that, he's brave enough to do so, considering many of his ideas put out the dog whistle tone to call out mobs of pitchfork wielding PC police. When he converses with such people, he can dumb it down to the level of those he's speaking with, which must be frustrating for him.

I started watching Dr Peterson around 2018, I was in a terrible job and hated my life.
Now my job literally entails traveling the world and just visited Sydney too lol and I feel like I have an actual plan and career goals in my life.

I love to hear your lectures, eventhough I am one of the poors
I love to study, but for 20 years I can not afford it anymore
Not only can I study, but if applied to my own live, it is really really helpfull
Studying with you helped me tremendously to not give up to strive, not give up to love
A "hey man, it is not easy, you better buckle up" helped me so much more than the usual "everything is allways fluff and sunshine"
The challange of striving for a meaning, is the meaning for me

Jordan Peterson is an Albertan which is kind of the Canadian equivalent of being a "Texan".

@Guy Incognito American culture is much more widespread though. You don't have to be an American to get the analogy.

@Guy Incognito I'm not sure he has done that, accused Americans of being small minded. I am just wondering why he made the analogy at all. That Alberta is Canada's Texas. I see the parallels, both oil rich, lot's of ranching, low taxes; basically a great place to live, but I think there might be an insult involved here too.

This eating advice is great. Especially for younger ppl, we haven't been taught in large to eat right. Changing my diet made one of the biggest improvements in me in my life. So thankful for your work Jordan. I changed my diet long before this but your work has truely helped me all around my life. I find myself listening during my daily tasks alot and as a small business owner it's made all the difference in my work.
