its not his quest. his quest is money and for a lot of people to think he's smart, and good, and daddy. this man, btw, makes $60,000 a month from his fans alone. thats before lecture fees, shirt sales, book sales etc. thats not altruistic. and if you talk to a true scholar of any of the material he makes it impossible for his fans to ever truly experience, they will tell you how fundamentally off base he is. he is essentially ruining a generation of (mostly) men's chances to become transformed through learning - because he's cramming his read of this material and reiterating it, reiterating it, as though there is some big truth and he knows it. you would know this too if you would have read any of this stuff before hearing him. (thats not a criticism btw- the books are hard, finding time to read is hard, and its not easy to just... pick these up and read them if they fall out of context in a person's life) I'm sure now every time any of his fans do read these books at his recommendation , they will read them in a way that they imagine their hero would want them to. they won't have a relationship with the writing, they won't have genuine aha moments, they won't even spot his glaring misinterpretations. He is warping people's minds by posturing as a genius and poorly plagiarizing victorian thinkers, and lying about the material he sights, and by doing so he is quite literally destroying people's ability to learn. Jordan Peterson is the very definition of a fraud.
@Tim McDraw, I could think of worse people for the youth of America to emulate or call a "hero". Jordan Peterson is making shit loads of money doing exactly what we should all be doing, and good for him. He found something he was interested in, applied himself, studied and mastered something and shared it with the world. He's not cramming it down people's throat. He's offering perspective and simplifying complex ideas for people like me who need parenting.
Tim McDraw He’s still telling them to read good books, and he tells them his interpretation of them, which you can choose whether or not to agree with. It’s much better than not giving any interpretation at all. I find that he tends to interpret literature in part with archetypal Jungian ideas and in part with existential thought, which isn’t surprising, considering how much Dostoevsky and Nietzsche he recommends.
At 26 after 17 years of a deep depression and endless meaninglessness, watching this man's videos has slowly given me a hope to creat a purpose in my life. At least today I don't wake up wondering if today's the day I off myself or not anymore and that to me is a life changing step P.S. I love all of your replies thank you very much.. I just wanna give yall a little back story. My father died when i was 9 years old. I drove past the car accident that killed him and then went to school. When i was told later that day that i lost my dad and my best friend i cried for an hour and it broke me. I didnt cry or feel anything but numbing anger for the next 7 years until i found weed. It gave me my emotions back. It allowed me to feel and cry again. I used it to heal and feel some pf that pain but then i graduat3d to coke and pills by the end of the next year and then at 18 i started shooting Herion and meth and Coke. And then fentynal. At my worst it was 1 to 3.5 Gs a day. Also growing up i was physically abused daily to the extremes. thrown down stairs, through walls, glass smashed on my collar bone stabbed with a fish hook when i was like 4. I drowned when i was 3 and my step dad gave me cpr to save me. (Thats one of my first memories) I have had a rough life to say the least. But today i have a purpose. Today i Know who i am. I am clean from all the dope for over a year now. I just smoke every know and then. I have an IQ of 137 and a heart that truly cares about everyone. I know how dark and depressing life can be and the depths of pain in it. I wanna do everything i possibly can to ensure others dont have to feel thr level of hopelessness ive endured for more than half my life. This is why i truly want to open affordable housing apartment complexs/homeless housing and build communities based off the sole purpose of helping others and then one day if everything works out I want to run for president and truly help this country how i know the amazing people here can.

For me, getting out of depression (I was diagnosed with 18 but i think i had for a long time, at least in a mild form) was tough but simple. Surround yourself with whatever meaningful things you can (family, friends, charity, etc). When you find yourself enjoying little things in life, remember it. Save those memories for a rainy day. And also pray. Pray a lot. Even if you don’t believe (I didn’t) praying the rosary helps immensely. And accept its a long process to climb out of the pit. That’s my experience.
Mr. Peterson. You, and mark my words. Will be talked about as one of the greatest free-thinking psychologists in the modern day. And I'm honored to have been able to listen to you in the present.

I recently finished "Beyond Order" and had to re-read it immediately. A magnificent book, one of the best I have ever read. Reading it, as well as re-discovering Dr Peterson's work this year, has really had a beneficial effect on me, and I am a woman of Dr Peterson's age group rather than the younger men who are so often inspired by him. I'd first heard of Dr Peterson in 2018, liked what I saw, but then ill health and the pandemic led me to lose touch with what he was doing. Of course Dr Peterson and his wife were very, very ill during 2019, 2020 and into 2021. It is remarkable that much of "Beyond Order" was written when Dr Peterson was seriously ill in various hospitals. He is a remarkable man, solid as a rock, a house built on firm foundations, a shining light in a dark world. Long may he stay safe, healthy and happy to carry on his great work. Looking forward to reading "Antidote to Chaos" when I can find it plus the book he's working on now "We Who Wrestle With God". I love watching his lectures and interviews.

Dr. Peterson- I have watched many hours of lectures, many hours of your interviews and all of the podcasts with you on Joe Rogan, read 12 steps to life. What I would like to say first is that my family and I are thrilled to see you be so successful and continue to share your knowledge and gift of wisdom with a world that has needed it so desperately. I would also like to state an observation that I believe to have noticed: Through out the years of your lectures and speaking appearances, I believe to have noticed a correlation between the improvements in your daughters health and your overall character and appearance. (I will assume that part of that is your change in diet) My point is that in the same way that your “heart is warmed” by the stories of success and overcoming of life’s chaos, the same feeling is felt by myself and many others when we learn the news of the escape from tragedy and suffering that you and your family have accomplished. I was really blown away when I watched the podcast with Joe Rogan and your awesome, interesting, BEAUTIFUL, and highly intelligent daughter. To see her looking so healthy and to hear her speak about what she and your whole family went through and to add to the amazing story was to realize that during that time of suffering you selflessly continued to strive forward with your career and spreading the truth knowledge for the betterment of society. Jordan Peterson pours his heart and soul into his presentations, and I love what he has to teach. Being honest, working as hard as you can, taking responsibility for your actions, being trustworthy, valuing people, valuing your own worth, living by Biblical principals. Teach your children to live by these values and you will equip them to live a good life.
Andrew Heffel , everything you do matters. What a profound thing to try to communicate to the world. Everything you do matters. I will likely read 12 Rules/Antidote To Chaos about six times, trying to get it all. What a great, rich gift.
My favourite Biblical principle is Thou shalt not kill. It is ironic considering how many people the Church, in particular the Catholic church has killed over the centuries. Jesus loves you unless you are a heretic!
No. God's love is eternal and, therefore, so is Jesus's. There are NO CONDITIONS! If a person rejects His teachings and turns his back on Him, it doesn't change the fact that God loves ALL His children. When I was forced to punish my children, I didn't cease to love them. Actually, I loved them even more. It hurt me to punish them. I did it because I loved them and wanted them to be the best person they could be. People become separated from God because WE choose to.

@@Yamyatos Life comes from God alone, this life and the human intellect is a dream. Once upon a time, we didn't exist, suddenly, we exist, only to walk daily towards our non-existence. The Bible was not inspired by religions before it. It was inspired by God Himself and written down by men. It is like no other religious book. It is a living book, one that's endured no matter how many people have tried to destroy it. The Bible is also unique in that it matches with chronological history. It talks about real events that happened in history. The Quran doesn't, none of the eastern religions do, and none of polytheistic religions of Greece, Egypt, or the Romans do.

This man has touched and helped so many people that's it's hard to wonder why anybody would dislike him. It makes one wonder who the real haters are..It's very rare in this day and age to find someone who doesn't back down in the face of all these special interest groups. I guess they hate this man because he helps a lot of males or women try to better themselves. As someone who is not an academic everytime he speaks I think that's exactly what I want to say but I can't say it as intelligently as he does.GOD BLESS THIS MAN..

It is interesting if you read Proverbs 31 and when you read the book of Ecclesiastes Solomon is suffering the consequences of foreign wives. Proverbs 21:9. If you listen to the last 15 minutes he talks about his relationship with his wife comparable to God and the concept of "contending" in relation to both. Think about how that ties into how Solomon interacted with his wives.

Jordan B. Peterson (1:02:50): _"If you are deprived of dreams, you will lose your mind."_ Ancient Aboriginal Proverb: _"Those who lose dreaming are lost."_
Wow I stopped dreaming after leaving home about a year and half ago. I'm 49 and Bipolar and have an amazing Christian wife and 4 children but I've been the misfit in this wonderful family. My mind is lost. I was ministering and founded s nonprofit Christian organization that now houses 32 men and women in my home town. I lost it all and now I understand why I'm so lost now and no longer dream. I want to find my life again but about to give up
It really is interesting to think that being deprived of dreams while we sleep (which appear silly, bizarre, and don't seem to have any tangible value) can have actual negative consequences on our minds.
Joni Leppänen esoteric nonsense. The church fathers, and many other wise men throughout history (not just founders of Christianity, also Stoics and others Peterson clearly hasn’t read)... Well, “having said all that”, dreamless sleep is actually sought after by the wise.
I find myself coming back to these videos every time the world gets a little overwhelming and they always help to get centred again. Doesn't make life easier but it never fails to help me sharpen my determination and purpose.
I didn't lie, but I lived a lie, which ends up being the same thing.. and now I literally found God, an experience that took me decades to remember.. I believe God had seen in me something I had yet to take notice of.. I am now in the middle of "the biggest case in over 20 years", (said, Internal Affairs), as in fighting the gov, and in doing so found a voice that is here to proclaim God's existence.. I'm talkin too much.. just know that verbal and internal lies are the same.. and not addressing it makes you God's slaves in life.. which I am no longer. YOIII.XO
It's not surprising, since all the business, political, and social leaders in our societies lie constantly while building facades of integrity. With psychopaths as role models, no wonder youth turns out damaged. REAL men like Jordan Peterson are the antidote to the toxicity of modern society.

@Muneeb Iqbal Strangely, I can relate to this. I have begun to feel empty although at first it felt like I was waking up. I just started to not care about the consequences and just lived my life the way I wanted it, but it feels like I am living it without any real meaning. Wash clothes, do work, go to sleep, have sex, eat. No spirit. Yet there is some strength to this, since I dont have to second guess every decision I make. I used to always second guess myself thinking that if what I was doing was wrong. But something is off...I think I am living a life where I can actually see the spiritual impact of my decisions. And I can see that am a monster. Im negatively impacting those around me, yet I cant seem to stop myself. I am like a robot...I feel no shame, no guilt, no worry, but strangely this concerns me. Before, I would feel like God would put guilt in me and Id come running back to Him in tears and prayers. But now, my spirit is quiet. Before I used to dream about brining good and being a leader in programs to help people in nearby communities. I had this child like fire with dreams to contribute to the world. Now...its not there anymore. This has given me a different perspective, it would seem a more grounded perspective. But maybe all those dreams and hypes and the way I acted before was all garbage...I feel lost now. Im hoping to one day feel in my life that child like inspiration to be a hero. For now I walk without the walls I had built since I was a child. I do not know if this is just a spiritual awakening of the abyss or just a form of depression. I dont know.
I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone talk who has made me think so deeply about everything and anything and really impressed upon me how important our every thought, word and action is not only in relation to ourselves but to everyone we interact with. Brando he makes it more complicated, because it is more complicated. His ideas are a the most coherent synthesis between atheistic materialism and religion. In many of his talks (and his books) he makes the distinction between objective scientific knowledge, and the more poetic, behavioral nature of mythology. This is why he’s controversial. He’s saying there is truth embedded in religious ideas, which annoys materialists to no end. But he also never claims that those truths are objective or scientific, which annoy believers to no end. But there is still deep truth to it. This is a third way. Neither theistic nor atheistic.
@@brando3342 - Yes, you're right. This is not the place to go for the direct gospel. But he's speaking in general to intellectuals and philosophers. Before I joined team Jesus, I was very enamored with philosophy and loved to reason everything out -- to death lol. Plus, I'm a book editor and love to use an expansive vocabulary. He's not claiming to be the way to finding Jesus. I think this might help some agnostics to reason on the side of God as opposed to no god. But we don't need to worry about whether his speeches will help non-believers believe, because the ones looking for the truth and asking, will find it, regardless. :)
Brando that's not even remotely easy for someone who isn't religious, so I'm not sure how that would help people "find the door" at all really. In contrast, JP is able to talk about religion in ways that make it much easier for non-religious people to understand and even respect, people that would otherwise curse religion.
Brando I was raised in a deeply Christian evangelical household. I spoke in tongues, I had conversations with “God” in my head every day. I’ve been baptized. I’ve read multiple versions of the bible through on several occasions. I’ve “let Jesus in”, as you put it. As a child, I would prophesy and have dreams and visions (none of which came true, by the way). I know exactly what it feels like to have that deep certainty that your version of things is correct. Deep in your heart. Like walking away from a test you studied for, knowing you got an A. ...Only to be devastated the next week when you get your grade back and see all the questions you missed. I have to ask the question: which version of Jesus do you want us to let in? The Baptist version? The Catholic? The Eastern Orthodox version? The Lutheran version? The Nondenominational American version, who has attributes that still contradict the other versions? This is the problem with the certainty you profess. JP mentions Socrates. He was said to be the wisest man in the world not because he was certain, but because he admitted how little of the world he knew. “Whoever humbles himself like this little child...” Jordan Peterson’s notions of God are far more subtle, and quite frankly, realistic, than the more ideologically grounded versions of people with devout religious faith. The Jesus you’re asking me to invite in is not the same he discusses. In his talk he reveals a great humility and a reluctance to make such bold claims as everyday religious people (and everyday atheists). He also bases his ideas deeply in evolutionary biology. He’s not claiming the same thing as a creator God. God is more of a transcendent reality that we can align ourselves with. JP frequently mentions Taoism. Mysterious, not well understood. Where the questions are more important than the answers. Again. It isn’t theism. This version of God is far more subtle. But still very real. It’s not atheism either.
@@brando3342 So do you think it wouldn't work if, for example, somebody merely accepted allah as the one true god? In your mind, it has to be acceptance of jesus or nothing. Do you really believe that? It seems like a dishonest position.

This is one of the most refreshing videos I've ever seen, I love how Jordan can connect Christianity to modern day issues and ask questions like "If you believe in God, how does that affect you, are you all in? How does your belief in God affect how you act? Does your believe in God make you a good person?" And I feel like to this question I can honestly say yes, because of my faith, the way I act is like this. There are things I know I shouldn't do that I still do, but there are things that some people do that I know I never would because of the affect my relationship with Jesus has on my life.

Socrates: tells youth the truth, chased out of town Peterson: tells youth the truth, chased out of town Edit: Wow I was not expecting this much engagement! Thanks y’all, keep it civil 😁
@The Factory Rat Genius Socrates knew many of the answers and was hoping to find them in the prodding of his students and the youth without prompting. A good teacher doesn't give his students the answers. He encourages them towards the truth he understands or perhaps hopes he might come across a mind that dispenses a greater truth based on his interrogations, that he might not have consisdered.
The Factory Rat Genius Socrates questioned the system that was currently educating the youth, and was then accused of corrupting the youth by pushing that same questioning on them. Peterson is contesting an establishment that claims to have all the answers and distributes them en mass as fact. So no, Peterson is closer to Socrates in this metaphor. Though I don’t think Socrates claimed to answer the questions he proposed in most cases, he mostly just attempted to tear down the indoctrination process of “fact” being spread around by the cultural rulers of Athens at the time. He was known to specifically seek out those who were leading figures and tear them down with his jester like questioning. He was attacking a system and group, who collectively claimed he was corrupting the youth after the fact. Peterson attacks a system and group, and they collectively respond by focusing on his character.

This talk is far better than most sermons I have heard in my 42 year Christian walk. Mr. Peterson understands much truth, but because he does not understand who Jesus is he misquotes Jesus at 1 hour 15 minutes in. When the rich young ruler asked Jesus, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus did not say, "Don't call me `good'." He said, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone." (Luke 18:18-30) Jesus was far from saying, "Do not call me good." In essence he said, "If you recognize that I AM truly good, then you will sell all you have and come and follow me. I AM God come in the flesh and I will reveal to you the way of eternal life." Mr. Peterson understands and articulates much truth, but the Word of the LORD has not yet been revealed to him. He does not know that the Word (LOGOS) became flesh and dwelt among us. He does not know that God came in the flesh so that we could then come to him, be received by him, and then live with him forever. He is right that many people should not dare to say they believe in God because they do not act at all like they do believe in God. He is right that people who say they believe in God should want to be perfect, just as God is perfect. But, he needs to understand then have faith in the simple gospel which is that Jesus Christ died for my sins so that I do not have to be perfect in my own strength. The fact is that I want to be perfect, but I will often fail and sin in some way. No one gets into heaven because they are perfect in all their conduct and ways. You and I will get in only way... and that is by faith in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who died for my sins so that I could be accepted as if I was perfect by my heavenly Father.
Glenn Hall , you resumed it very well. Thank you. True Faith is reflected and manifested in our works. If we say we love God, but keep not his commandments we are liars. Jesus said: If you love me, keep my commandments.

I cried out in prayer and asked God “whoever you are that created me, please show me who you are, I’m tired of the darkness of the world” etc etc etc. I prayed like this with all of my heart and pouring out my tears for many nights, again and again, I got no answer until one night I finally did. God answered me in a miraculous way and said “Jesus Christ is who the Bible says He is” but he didn’t just put that thought in my head, it was like He downloaded that understanding to every cell of my body and suddenly I KNEW it was the truth. I began weeping and repenting of my sin, but I felt so full of joy also. The Bible says if you seek God passionately with all of your heart and don’t give up, HE WILL ANSWER YOU. Repent of your sins and seek Jesus Christ. Abide in Him daily and He will change you and He will grant you the right to enter the kingdom of heaven.

You know what amazes me about this man? His quest to make you as smart as he is. It's amazing and altruistic. I love him for these things.
its not his quest. his quest is money and for a lot of people to think he's smart, and good, and daddy. this man, btw, makes $60,000 a month from his fans alone. thats before lecture fees, shirt sales, book sales etc. thats not altruistic. and if you talk to a true scholar of any of the material he makes it impossible for his fans to ever truly experience, they will tell you how fundamentally off base he is. he is essentially ruining a generation of (mostly) men's chances to become transformed through learning - because he's cramming his read of this material and reiterating it, reiterating it, as though there is some big truth and he knows it. you would know this too if you would have read any of this stuff before hearing him.
ABSOLUTELY!
Tim McDraw
He’s still telling them to read good books, and he tells them his interpretation of them, which you can choose whether or not to agree with. It’s much better than not giving any interpretation at all.
I find that he tends to interpret literature in part with archetypal Jungian ideas and in part with existential thought, which isn’t surprising, considering how much Dostoevsky and Nietzsche he recommends.
@@timmcdraw7568 Good for him, he used his head at least.

At 26 after 17 years of a deep depression and endless meaninglessness, watching this man's videos has slowly given me a hope to creat a purpose in my life. At least today I don't wake up wondering if today's the day I off myself or not anymore and that to me is a life changing step
Be grateful for that encounter. Many people sleep their entire lives thinking they‘re awake and you probably just began waking up

It's not endless meaninglessness, it's suffering.

Mark my words: Dr. Peterson, you will be remembered. I mean that on a scale probably grander than you would imagine. Your way with words and your take on life's problems and big questions is absolutely remarkable. Good thinkers think, but great thinkers make non-thinkers think, and I hold the opinion that you fall in the latter category. Thank you.

@@aojbooker8650 Neither Jung nor Nietzsche’s views or perceptions were anywhere near as constraint and closed minded as Peterson’s narrow parameters when it comes to his personal opinions and biased conclusions. Many of which are heavily swayed and stunted by his faith as a staunchly devout disciple of Catholicism and it’s religious teachings/beliefs/condemnations. WOW! You not only preached it, you demonstrated it 100% man!!! @@jerrygreene1493 I understand what he is saying and it is helpful to me. Many others also appear to find his words helpful. The reason he talks of Marxism so frequently is because he is addressing the post modernist/deconstructionist movements that are rooted in Marxist doctrine and which now pervade much of University thinking and teaching. It seems that you don't find his words helpful or beneficial to your own journey so you probably want to look elsewhere for guidance.

Even the story of the bible is heavily inspired by the religions that came before it. When it comes to these things, people like to get inspired by things they heard about and liked.
@@Yamyatos Life comes from God alone, this life and the human intellect is a dream. Once upon a time, we didn't exist, suddenly, we exist, only to walk daily towards our non-existence. Likewise, one who knows nothing of truth, life or God can learn of all those things if they first believe what God has said - but no amount of words or evidence can turn a heart set against God in the other direction.

It's pretty amazing how humble Jordan remains even during this crazy adventure he is on. A sign of true character, I believe.
Brando
I was raised in a deeply Christian evangelical household.
“Whoever humbles himself like this little child...”
Jordan Peterson’s notions of God are far more subtle, and quite frankly, realistic, than the more ideologically grounded versions of people with devout religious faith.

Peterson: tells youth the truth, chased out of town Edit: Wow I was not expecting this much engagement! Thanks y’all, keep it civil 😁
The Factory Rat Genius No, but I like your video on Eternal Damnation, 100% agree
DA Espada no he actually literally didn’t know the answers. He knew things. Foremost he knew what he didn’t know.

I agree with what you have written... Dr Peterson needs to come to know the grace of God through our savior Jesus Christ
Thanks for your words. Blessings!
Glenn Hall , you resumed it very well. Thank you. True Faith is reflected and manifested in our works.
If we say we love God, but keep not his commandments we are liars.

After I saw this show in person, I left hoping that a recording of it existed in some form so I could see it again and further digest all the profound and interesting things discussed. Many thanks for releasing it.

You can always rewatch it or convert to mp3 or mp4.

GOD (Truth) is found only through experience and reason. Dr. Peterson asks: "Who knows?" I do. I've been given the answers to all of the "hard questions." "The Book of GOD" can be read in 5 minutes or less, at no cost, and contains those answers. Click and ye shall find. GOD's prophet, the prophesied return of Elijah, has spoken. 1:29:19 ”You cling to what you shouldn't be, partly out of pride, partly out of ignorance, and partly out of laziness. ... Everything about you that isn't worthy needs to be put into the flames."
Mostly laziness in my case, plus an unknown amount of ignorance.
I would add fear to that, as it is to me the most important issue to address.
This phrase immediately made me think of the Catholic belief in “purgatory”. Where you are purged from your human propensity to sin “as if by fire” (or something like this the quote goes)before being able to enter heaven. I was like woah! “Cleansed by fire”, leaving the bad behind in the flames.
Thank God for Mr. Peterson, I am praying for his salvation. Sisters and bro's in Christ, please stand in agreement with me in prayer on this 💜
Hello D.Lewis and good Day. Yes He deserved it also all of you too. I fond this Man a gift of the understanding. Sincères amitiés Philippe

Jesus Christ is who the Bible says He is. Abide in Him daily and He will change you and He will grant you the right to enter the kingdom of heaven.
etc etc etc
Jesus will never miss the opportunity to reveal Himself to ANYONE who seeks Him from their heart✝️❤️
I support this, don't worry about the haters. I hope they read beyond the presentation of your truth to the heart of the Truth itself. Jesus truly is Lord of all that is.
And the word became flesh and dwelt among us.
You know Jesus already came back, right? Preterism. Titus flavian was the second coming. He was the version in the next generation before the last one died, to level the temple so not on stone is atop another. Jesus and god left and are not coming back.
In the beginning i was like man how long is it gonna take before he just answers the question but the nearer i got to the end the more profound it became. The truth will set you free, Amen.
Yes....always wait for it. He will get there and it is always so much more enriching with his explanations. I wouldn't have it any other way. Hes absolutely magnificent.
Try reading Jiddu Krishnamurti. "Total Freedom" is a nice collection. He has videos all over TH-cam as well. Pretty sure he owned nothing his whole life and disbanded the spiritual group he was in charge of, giving all the money and properties back.

I have had so many transformative experiences,a life well lived...attained the goals professional, and personal I meant to, verymrich inner life of continuous learning...the only regrets even though I travled very widely, I regret the parts of the world,I have not personally seen and experienced ....never enough time .....but all in all I am so happy and grateful for the life I have lived...it has been hell, severe physical challenges to overcome in childhood, early widowhood, many losses of beloved people but it has been SUCH heaven too....so a life well and thoroughly lived.
