  • Taking a drive in the 1961 Volkswagen 23 Window Microbus Deluxe. The bus is a joy to drive. It's one of the cars in my collection that I drive the most. It's really an awesome experience. I highly recommend them!!
    My apologies for getting confused between 11 window, 13 window, 15 window, 21 window, and 23 window buses. For clarificaiton, the 21/23 window and the 13/15 window is what I meant. The 11 window buses were a little bit different.

    Awesome video. Yesterday i bought my first split window bus and to my surprise it's a 1963 15 window bus. I noticed you never mentioned a 15 window. I've read that they're pretty uncommon. You taught me a few things in this video I didnt know before.

    Awesome. Been following your morning trading for a few months now and will be joining daytradedash so I can hopefully climb over PDT. Your video you just posted on the warrior channel you mentioned you had this channel too. Awesome stuff. My dream car as a kid was an old Toyota FJ40 land cruiser and I got a 1977 a few years ago. I get asked questions at every stop light

    Very nice bus! We have similar tastes as I also have a 1961 23 Window bus, not quite as clean as yours, but same model, and originally same color as well. I also have a 1969 Mustang fastback, mine is a Mach 1, with a 428 Super Cobra Jet, so we cover similar ground with our cars. Of all cool cars I have driven, nothing gets the honks and thumbs up like a 23 window bus. Enjoy, and thanks for the cool videos.

    Interesting what the developers of the Volkswagen Group made of it in Brazil! There this model was built - after the model change in Germany - with slight adjustments and improvements. (By the way, the DKW car was also continued to be built in Brazil by DKW-Vemag - until Volkswagen do Brasil bought this competitor in 1967) This Samba became a bestseller in Brazil and rolled off the assembly line there until 1976.

    Here from warrior pro and know nothing about cars but this was really interesting as a late night watch before sleep... Jack Kerouac reference aside, there's a book called "zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance" which for some reason sprung to mind hearing about the characteristics and quirks of the microbus. There's a lot to be said with being more connected to the environment as you travel (which is also a big part of why I love mountain biking). Very cool!

    Another fantastic episode! I never knew as much about the 1961 Volkswagen bus before! I’m definitely not as brave as you are Ross in regards to driving that with virtually no windshield wipers! Lol! It’s a beautiful van and an awesome addition to your collection! What’s the oldest car in your collection Ross? Thanks again for another great episode! 🔥🔥🔥 I’m really looking forward to the next episode! On another note as a current warrior pro student once I grow my small CMEG account (1K) I’m definitely going to become a fledgling junior tire kicker myself someday! Lol! Thanks again Ross! 😊

      Hey man!! I hope you have at least 4x that much tucked away in safe places. $150k is a lot for a car, it shouldn’t ge your #1 asset, since they depreciate. Are you thinking about classics or something newer?

    • @TireKickers-RossCameron
      @TireKickers-RossCameron  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hey! Great question! Personally I don't think they are as good of an investment. In 5-10 years, what do you have, a resto-mod that is in need of upgrades? If you have something original, and you can keep it original, it will hold better value. Some resto-mods like Singer Porsche or East Coast Defenders do command high prices, but if you look 20-30 years out, I'm not sure if they'll hold value in the same way as an original.

    LOL i had one of these back in the 70's in nor cal. It was my first car. A 66 23 window with a big sunroof. Bought it for $700 bucks off one of those used car lots on the other side of the train tracks. Most unsafe underpowered pos i ever had. Why risk your life in one of these death traps? Just one texting suv driver and you're toast because there is no frontal protection in these things
