Love how wonderfully difficult this cure mode actually is. Plague Inc was always that strategy game that wasn't really a strategy game cause of how insanely easy it was: Pick a weak country, invest in infectivity, infect everyone, flip the kill switch. No turn based movement, little if any resource management. So it was like how Hades appeals to the roguelike haters, but even more dumbed down. This cure mode has different approaches, most not easily handed to you, and powerful AI that starts off with base infectivity and lethality like a real disease. It becomes a desperate attempt to control the disease and repair what it destroyed, while governments harshly judge you. Plague Inc always had my attention since it was a strategy game without 50 resources to manage at once and about 20 possible buttons to press on screen at any time.

Rest of the World: *Who’s up for South American Scramble!*
"Good thing COVID-19 is not a bio weapon."
Said every Plague Inc player in the world
I know right
Turns out, IT WAS.
@@RickMattison314It likely wasnt, because if it was every other country will declare armageddon on china and destroy it, since it would be concidered a mass destruction weapon.
When "you're going to brazil" is actually dangerous
It's already dangerous
And it got worse
@@lautentico9517 ye a monje stole my money...
Im still pissed

Bio-Weapon: *exist*
South America: *ADIOS*
I really hope the dev/modders would create a multiplayer mode for both cure and plague and 2 sides fight for the fate of humanity with these new mechanics.
Me, a South American:
*Visible sadness*
I'm from peru and this hit me hard...
wait there is a bio weapon
they didn't tell us in Asia
“Game over!”
“BombermanBart died from meningitis caused by “COVID but insanely OP”
“You cannot respawn in hardcore mode!”

move out while you can, off to Greenland you go!
I salute you for your sacrifice
This actually is a pretty accurate representation of what an actual bio weapon will do.
Scary
Depends. Most used by the more dubious governmets are designed to kill off their hosts before they spread too far (so it doesn't turn around and annihilate their country). On the other hand, if a terrorist group develops it...
Thank God it's a war crime to deploy them.
@@royearle1673 like countries actually care about war crimes lmao
@@Perseagatuna enough to not deploy bio-weapons. If only because if they did, others would do so too and everyone would be doomed.
I mean, they're probably developing them already anyway.
@@royearle1673 then it's not about not committing war crimes, it's about M.A.D
I'm pretty sure the aftermath would have the people who made the weapon be arrested and their trial is:
"You killed most of the continent of south america... death *gavel strike*"
"But your honor-"
"WHAT GODDAMN DEFENSE DO YOU HAVE-"
"The government threatened to kill my entire family and frame me."
"What do you mean the government, you made an extremely lethal virus and weren't responsible enough to keep it contained!"
@@paprus5972 "I meant that I was forced to do it. The government was trying to use it in a war. The version I made wasn't nearly as contagious. They forced another guy to increase infection rates. Besides, both of us helped in the cure effort."
@@PersonWhoExists50306 *Sigh* "Which government? And who did they force to increase the infection rates? Because chemical weapons, last time anyone has checked, are an actual war crime according to the Geneva Conventions"
@@paprus5972" It was the Vatican City government. They refer to it as Neo-Byzantium, though. A group of insurgents overthrew the Pope last year and covered it up. The other scientist was a guy by the name of Michael Stevens. He was killed with two shots to the back of the head and it was ruled a suicide. I believe it was a government-sanctioned killing. If you're going to ask about the leader of the government, don't bother. All government employees get facial reconstruction surgery to remove their facial features to prevent identification. They also change their names to their ID numbers and burn off their fingerprints. We know nothing about the leader of the shadow government, but he goes by the moniker 'Deo'"
Pravus deserves all the praise he can get for that massive headache of a scenario. Think Ndemic might nerf it someday?
Part of me suspects they made it harder. I got a run where it spawned in Colombia. Locked the ports immediately. It instantly got on a plane to UK and blitzed straight past Central America into Mexico. I couldn't keep up.
I've had similar problems with the Nano virus. The starting country gets overwhelmed before my analysis is even finished and ruins my authority. Even if I find it immediately. What am I even supposed to do in that situation? This is still on brutal.
No they never nerf they buff like nano virus

Awesome job Pravus! That sounds like hell what you went through to get it done! Enjoy the rest of your break and rest up buddy, you earned it for saving the world again!
Well not the whole world
I tried the guide, and it worked! I realized you can beat it with minimal losses, just lockdown South America at the start to decrease infection, then use field ops to cure/kill infected in the most affected country, and targeted lockdown on the others to further prevent spread. However, I did get lucky with it not traveling to other continents at the start.

I'd love to see the very first attempts on this difficulty. That has to be veeeery funny to watch!
"Some of you may die, but that is a sacrifice I'm willing to make."
I mean for a world ending scenario, it's ultimately the better but extremely tough call - I bet if this exactly played out in real life, the taskforce director is probably guilt-ridden and would have resign if he hasn't attempted suicide.
@@aces6262 He might attempt at the future.
Worst case scenario, assassination.

I just love that Pravus slowly zoomed in here lol
I love that like half of a country die in 2 weeks but the inhabitants still gets mad at the containement Xd
🤣🤣
"WHY CAN'T I SEE PARIS IF I'M GONNA DIE ANYWAY???"
Plague Inc always had my attention since it was a strategy game without 50 resources to manage at once and about 20 possible buttons to press on screen at any time.
i’m three years late but fr!! i’ve beaten every plague type on mega brutal in the base game, meanwhile i’ve been stuck on mega brutal virus cure mode for a week😭
Pravus: It can't get any harder, right?
Bio-Weapon: That's where you're wrong kiddo
To Quote a certain Mad Titan:
"The hardest decisions require the strongest of wills."
Been loving watching you play cure mode. I remember binge watching the original mega brutal series and I loved it. Keep up the content Pravus and I will keep watching😁
You know this is difficult when pravus actually edits his videos in the first few seconds of it starting
I love how to beat this on mega-brutal you have to basically be a time traveller having already experienced the bio weapon and who kept resetting the timeline to get perfect starting conditions lol
I burned myself and finally beaten this and the prion also worked with the same strat pravus ur some next level gamer man
That intro though.
Man bio weapon is UNFAIR AF
I did it and had about 90 authority left thank you for the tutorial
Now Pravus keep resting if you still desire to rest! it was great to hear your voice once more and see some content but your wellbeing takes priority!
he wrote in one of the other cure videos that he's going to continue his break after doing all the walkthroughs and that he'll probably be back mid February. Maybe now that he's sunk more than 12 hrs into this bioweapon strat he'll need more time to rest 🤣
I will never get tired of rewatching Pravus's outrage in the first few minutes of this video
Me: hey this game looks fun
Bioweapon: exist
Me: *PAIN*

Dude THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS GUIDE I JUST BEAT IT ON MOBILE ON MEGA BRUTAL WITH 1 AUTHORITY LEFT. I would have never beaten this on mega brutal without this guide.

On another note, your guides are definitely useful! I have been using them myself xD
