I never performed an emergency hack.
but I had to done some other hacks.
Zip tie the compression adjustment on fox shock and fork with Ctd and grip fit to prevent them locking out due to vibration.
when I wore the surface on a saddle to be super slippery I wrapped a tube around it.
broken zipper pull tap, zip ties comes to rescue agian, but snapping the joitn is worse no fix for that.

It's sometimes hard to remember everything when your bikes fails. This specially happens when the bike fail is because of a fall and you're just trying to collect yourself. These tips really come in handy and I'm glad you liked them :-)

    6. Tip, If your wheel is tacoed, its done for already you can't hurt it any more, take it off, stand on it so it will go around enough to get you out. Beats walking out a few miles..

      @rgmtb  7 ปีที่แล้ว

Good tip. Wheel is shot anyway and that beats the heck out of walking!

Sweet! I think I requested this video?
Some things I bring with me in case stuff goes bad is:
    Extra Zip ties (of course)
    Velcro
Gum (works to temporary patch a tube)
Shoe lace in case we need to open a masterlink and dont have a tool
flash light in case i get stuck in the dark

10:29 broken spokes on Bontrager ranger wheels would not be a surprise, it even happens on my 26er several times, the spoke nipples are like cheese too, hub is garbage, I wear out the freehub in few days of riding only. the material the spokes and nipples are made of is crucial.
Also, remember that components like these are consumables so eventually wear out, but this wheelset is awful.
Tis important to know how to fix stuff on the trial. great viduo, some humour too :-)
Even my Fuel ex 7 29er had garbage wheels.
No issues with Hope Enduro yet.
I can shred hard, and I have not destroyed any spokes, nipples or rims, or hubs with hope.

I was riding Buffalo Creek in CO and could not shift into Granny Gear and I really needed it for the climb I was getting ready to do. I found a tree with a branch that I could hook my saddle over and was able to adjust the derailleur setting and use the much needed Granny Gear. On the broken spoke, I have also been able to unscrew the broken spoke from the spoke nipple on the rim and it gets the broken spoke totally out of the way. Always pack zip ties and a master link - I had a friend who broke a chain and hiked out 6 miles - I learned from his mistake. I broke my first chain this summer on a road ride and had the tools and link needed to make the repair.

You sure can learn a lot from others and from your own experiences. I'm sure your buddy learned something that day after hiking out 6 miles :-(
      Thanks for the tips man!

"So, you want to end up with a female on both sides," he said, and then the other guy went on to talk about a "Little blue pill." Naughty, naughty, Gene! That party won't be on the pedals, hahaha.
For the snapped cable, I prefer the solution that has you using the rest of the cable or a cable tie to create tension the same way the cable does at the derailleur. This leaves you locked in one gear but without introducing debris into the mechanism.
Good content and great presentation, guys. Thanks for sharing.

I have an immediate problem😰...my petal fell off and all the threading is gone and smooth! Is there anything I can do to get it to stick decently? I'm far far from home with no money I tried wedging sticks, a piece of aluminum I had on me both failed miserably. Is there anything you'd recommend? (I hope I'm not the first person this has happened to)
