Maybe, I don’t really like closet doors. The house we bought a few months ago had those dumb bi-fold doors just sitting in the floor (because they are the worst! 😆) and not attached and it didn’t phase me one bit when we did a walk-through. Don’t need them. I never close bedroom closet doors, but I also don’t believe beds need to be made everyday so I know my thinking isn’t the norm.
@@michellechap792I’m on your team! I do close closet doors but I also like curtains instead. A friend did it in her kid’s rooms & pulled it off while I don’t think my house could. Megan can, & it works with the house.
I have no words. All I can think of is the last year or more making your dream cottage. Maybe you just love to live in change and challenges and chaos ❤. Good luck.
I'm not sure why I'm feeling disappointed that you're moving! Probably because I so loved the concept of a smaller scale home. Also, I tend to put roots down like an oak tree....
Hey guys, this is my first ever comment but I've been watching your channel for nearly a year and I just wanted to say that I think you're both incredible. Down to earth, funny and real and I feel like im with friends when I watch you. Thank you for sharing your life with the world. As much as I was surprised by the move announcement, I think it will be amazing! Good luck!
I would honestly leave the blue room, and then just paint the green ones. That blue is gorgeous, and pretty much universally liked. I like the greens too, but a lot of people don't like color as much as I do.
My jaw dropped when I saw your art 😍. You are leaps and bounds above what I was expecting! Amazing! So excited for your move and everything that goes along with trying to finish your house, list it and find a rental that you will put your stamp on in Virginia! I know your home there will be beautiful. I am happy that you will be with your parents too. The older I get … also just having lost my Mom a few years ago… those will be precious times for you ❤
If Faith can move mountains, it can certainly move the Knorpps. At this point, don't look at the whole journey ahead of you, just take it one step at a time, and you'll get there. But, you already know that.
Magen your art skills are beyond beautiful, you are one of the most talented artists I've seen. My son is an artist and he is not nearly as good as you and that's my son. I have to know did you trace the pictures you drew or are they painted freehand? Either way, they are amazing. Thanks for sharing. Love yah Nancy
Omg…😮 The warehouse!! That’s going to be a HUGE chore! 😳 I’m sorry to see you going before you have a completed vision, but I’m also excited to see what you will be moving to! Stay strong, don’t stress (easy to say I know). But it’s the way of the Knorpps! Lol
Hi Knorpps, That will be another adventure for your family. For me, one of the biggest positives about all of the moves that I made in 20 years was the fact that every place I moved my furniture looked so different. It was as if my furniture constantly looked new!
You are moving to a beautiful place. I was born on a farm outside Lynchburg, Va. The Mts are ✔️. Real estate is premium. Hope you find what’s needed for all of you. Taking care of parents is #1 along with your selves and the children. Someone is going to love your precious home you all have put your heart and soul in. We’ve got a journey to go on. Thanks.❤
I am SO here for it, Megan 💖. I love the great attitude and optimism you have about purging your collections. You'll be so less encumbered by "stuff". Yayyyy! Go Megan!.. Go Megan!... Go Megan! ☺️
Megan you have always been such a ray of light! I love that when the unexpected comes, you pray, then follow God's plan... No matter what! This is so exciting!
I had another thought, instead of Mike building the cabinets for the kitchen, maybe pick some stock unfinished cabinets from Home Depot or stock cabinets from Ikea. As for the 2 ranges, maybe remove one and sell it (more money for your future home), center the remaining range in the cooking area and add counter space on either side of the range.
I love your family's ability to adapt to new situations. It will be curious to see as adults if they are "stay puts" or "move ons"! Love ya Megan! Elizabeth
Well, I thank you for sharing the reality. We all watch those shows, and they are just that - shows. I'm sending you good thoughts, blessings, prayers and the strength and patience to keep taking one step at a time. Hugs!
Changing residences right before you finish completion is like psychologically having the rug pulled out from under you. (Pun intended.). That's a tough one to rap your brain around. I am curious what's next.
We move every 5 years. It's a great motivator to purge of items. It's amazing how one can accrue items over the years, and boxing them up makes you realize you don't need it all.
That’s awesome! My husband and I have joked that people should move every 5-7 years just to keep the creep away! When you stay in one place too long you really accumulate a lot of STUFF!
Moving every 5 years is a whole lot better than moving every 1 to 2 years. They have at least 2 more moves ahead of them in the next couple of years. God bless them! We renovated over 3 years ago, and we're still very much in love with our home. But, they both seem to need that change & often. 🏠🔧🔨🪚
😂 our cats wrestle each other that way too. They are having fun. I can’t believe how excited you guys are about moving again. 😂 To me I just see all the work not the fun and adventure of it. I think it is wonderful and loving that you are having your parents move in with you.
I love your optimism, Megan! In my marriage/relationship of 30 years, I am Mike-like and my husband is Magan-like. I'm feeling there was a pre-conversation before y'all headed over to the storage unit. Lol Love you guys! Looking forward to seeing what you get into next.
Exactly pass it on! You can/WILL treasure HUNT for new/old stuff when you get there! And it will be so fun! ❤ I am so excited for you guys! And I’m excited to see the kitchen although I assume it may not be exactly as planned now that you’re moving! ❤❤❤
You two. Is there anything you two cannot do? 😂 You’re both so talented! I wish all the best with your new adventure. I actually love moving. It’s so satisfying to me when I can clean and purge.
If Leo Davinci married himself and had a bunch of kids, your family would be it. 😂 The Lord has given ur family so many talents, wow! Carpentry, art, business savvy, entrepreneur, music, decorating, refurbishing..the list goes on. Your adventures scratch my own wanderlust and I adore your hardwork and optimism Mike and Megan! ❤
I love your joy at the big unexpected change in your life. No self piety in the Knorpp household! That makes it easier to see the good in where you are heading, plus won’t make your parents feel bad for what you are doing.
My nephew is on a mission there! Sending energy and strength your way. If you feel called to do it, then you will have the support and magnification you need to do it! 💕 Excited to be here for your journey to get to where you’re supposed to be. It’s just a good way to be; Open to the winds of change 🌬️ 🌬️🌬️
congrats I'm so happy you guys are going to keep the family together by moving closer to them. Good idea on paint a neutral color for the house and as someone who knows about real estate you should put away 70% of all personal decor specially books and artwork keep it to a minimum. Not everyone buying a home want a home they need to put tons of hours into remodeling, painting, etc. Good luck and can't wait to go on this adventure with ya'll :)
I am 100% in on your moving preparations and final renovations. Keep repeating that by letting go of these great pieces of furniture (and other items), you will find better ones in the future. You don’t to move it all. Also, have you considered reaching out to an antique/thrift shop owner to sell things on consignment? You know all the shops in the area. Just a thought.
I really don't know how you manage to fit so many things in to your day and finish renovating and packing up to move and cooking two dnners and sell all your lovey furniture and I could go on and on but I don't have time!! Megan you are amazing😊
I miss you all the best and I'm sure you're gonna find new things where you're going, because you have a good eye for antiques. It's always amazing at the things you find. Wishing you are the best. I enjoy your videos😊❤
We love the Shenandoah Mountains and the valley and have vacationed there often. we have a time share at Massanutten near Harrisonburg. So much wonderful history and sites to explore. Living in south Florida is so much different in so many ways. Excited to watch your progress and see your lovely family tackle your next adventure. Love your channel..
Your painting is so good! You gave the impression that it was just a little hobby but You are very talented Meghan. I'm looking forward to seeing your art displayed in your home in the future.
Wow ! You will not change the hallway ? There's one place where the color and wall paper is not neutral. As you said how often when you look houses to buy you like the color in their houses, specially if is green with busy wallpaper.
It’s nice that you have the warehouse to store things while you move that would make it so much easier to cherry pick what you take with you to a rental until you find a permanent spot to nest in
I remember someone commenting when this project started that they would move as soon as it was finished. Everyone is at Megan's flight of anxiety. You can slap all kinds of platitudes on it but it is so unsettled for the children. They want to believe their parents are taking them on the best journey but the truth is they don't know anything else.
Hi Megan and Mike, so excited about your new adventure. NOW, about your Art! Excellent! If you lived in Mississippi I would invite you to join us at the Mississippi Painters Society. Keep going you are wonderful! Jane Sutton
Whatever you do don't make them get rid of things they want. It might be insignificant to you but not to them. We moved a lot when i was a child my dad worked in the oil fields and we always had to go wherever they needed to drill. My mom would always throw my stuff away. I still hate her for doing that to me. Things are sentimental to me. So it was like throwing away a piece of my heart. When I see pics of that or find it at thrift store ( i buy it) I still 45+ years later cry. I had to recently move her (as none of my other 3 siblings talk to her) from a 3 bedroom house to an efficiency (because of money to pay rent). So as we were packing I was sorting her stuff. Things she could keep and things we were tossing and things we were donating. She was like no I want this and that and blah. I said you don't have room for all this. So I donated and tossed her things. She was mad and cried, i said oh well you didn't care about my feelings or emotions as a child so why should I care about yours. You are older and should understand there is no space for 30 towels or 300 books etc. She has become a major hoarder. Was it payback NO. I still will never get my things back and that's all I want. There's a reason no one in our family talks to her and i only do because I feel it so sad to have no one like you because of your attitude and behavior so i do only because she is my mother and i feel like it is my duty. So don't ever make light of what someone children or spouse feel about things. In the end things aren't the most important but your love and respect are. Sorry that was long
My 16 yo DS son has a lot of the same characteristics as Eve! He is (almost) a hoarder loves notebooks. I try to clean out his room once or twice a year...sometimes more. (Any mail for occupants is his and must never leave!) Keep up the good work!
I’m always inspired by your families sense of adventure and how you embrace change. I myself have moved several times and traveled a lot. Despite all that though I’m still in shock that you’re moving. I find it heartbreaking how hard you all worked everyday for so long on this home and are just gonna leave it all. Your rationale for the move makes sense though and I hope everyone feels at peace about it.
Stay optimistic! Everything will workout exactly as it should and all will be well. Whoever buys the deacon’s bench will be so blessed to have it - I wish it was me, but I’m in a smaller home too so there’s that lol. Loving that you’re filming more again - I’ll get caught up on podcasts and plan to check out your oils channel. I’ll do what I can to support your new adventure from afar!
I'm learning British sign language and we have a child's bbc presenter with downs in the uk who was helped by learning Makaton and now is a children's TV presenter... Eve is a natural performer... have you thought of learning Makaton or ASL... best of everything with the move... you have this, Megan. God bless and keep you. Eve is a wonderful name... she literally in Eve-rything...
I cried seeing those VA mountains. We lived in Charlottesville for a few years for my husband's work and it was lovely. We had our 2nd baby there. Im from NC originally but also loved VA.
Since I'm not the one having to do the purging/packing/finishing jobs, I'm excited about all of this and totally here for the chaos! Your artwork is terrific, Megan. And I secretly hope that deacon's bench doesn't sell. I feel it will be perfect in your farmhouse ! ☺ I can imagine how hard it is to let go of all of your wonderful finds but I'm sure you're correct that there are many wonderful finds awaiting you.
Just take what is important to you and bring your joy and things of necessity. I bet the house you get in Virginia will be large enough to hold all your precious items. No regrets.
I about fell on the floor when you said Buena Vista. My family has lived there for generations. If you ever meet anyone there with the last name Mcdaniel or Mason or Wheeler, chances are they are related to me. My mom was number 10 or 11 and she is the only one left of her siblings. It is a beautiful little town in the middle of no where.
.. Too funny. I'd love to be one of their neighbours. I'd cancel my tv, and just sit in my window, sipping on tea while watching the comings and goings of the Knorpp family.
@@mommabecky83 .. I love large families. There's something comforting about the noise, chaos, and heaps of love. Many blessings to you and your family. 💗
Loved that you went to Lexington where my father and two of my brothers went to school. Sorry you didn’t video some of this. Anyway, that is a beautiful part of Virginia. Also, I agree the correct pronunciation of any town is how the locals pronounce it.
Hillsville Va has a really big flea market once a year Labor Day weekend . I mean it’s from Thursday until Monday and it’s miles and miles long . Look into it you will be so excited to go .
I’m wondering about the older kids who are moving to Virginia…what do they think about their parents following them? Just thinking they may have wanted to feel freedom of moving away and being in a new place. And them SURPRISE look who’s coming with you?
“Eve’s such a pack rat.” Says the woman who literally has to rent a warehouse to store her thrift store finds. 😂 lol!
I was thinking as I watched “like momma, like daughter”! She’s learned from one of the greats!
It was a business
P.S. i think the new buyers would appreciate closet doors. If you put a curtain up, they'll just think, "ugh! another project".
I gotta go team no doors. I take all the closet doors down and put up curtains. 😂
@@michellechap792I’m on your team! I do close closet doors but I also like curtains instead. A friend did it in her kid’s rooms & pulled it off while I don’t think my house could. Megan can, & it works with the house.
That is true

Just my opinion: paint the girls room the alabaster but leave the rug and the curtains it will look cute!
The writing desk is called Sekretär in germany. Lots of love from germany ❤
Decluttering the warehouse is gonna be a whole task. Whew. Wishing yall luck and endurance while going through the process.

Looking on the bright side you can do all this as a family, not alone.
Just take what is important to you and bring your joy and things of necessity. I bet the house you get in Virginia will be large enough to hold all your precious items. No regrets.
Love this video! You guys are doing great--you've got this!
I just love your channel so much!! I can’t wait for new videos and I’m so so excited for this new journey!!would love to see daily vlogs haha

If you do move to Virginia, you will love Sharp Shopper Grocery store.
Lmao the neighbors are probably like where in the heck are they packing all that large furniture in to 😂
.. Too funny. I'd love to be one of their neighbours. I'd cancel my tv, and just sit in my window, sipping on tea while watching the comings and goings of the Knorpp family.
@@TheThriftyGma right 🤣. I have 8 kids. I bet our neighbors where always like what the heck going on over there now
@@mommabecky83 .. I love large families. There's something comforting about the noise, chaos, and heaps of love. Many blessings to you and your family. 💗
Before you list it, take your custom curtains down if you want to keep them and put up cheap ones up!
Best wishes!! Exciting times!
you are SUCH a talented artist! wow!
Loved that you went to Lexington where my father and two of my brothers went to school. Sorry you didn’t video some of this. Anyway, that is a beautiful part of Virginia. Also, I agree the correct pronunciation of any town is how the locals pronounce it.
Megan, your drawings are so good!
I wouldn’t paint! The rooms are so pretty! Your art is awesome!!
You guys are awesome!
Go for it!

Ha ha - never looked at it from that angle.
