Toolbox Saw Restore - Part 2

  • In Part 2 we're going to finish this restoration of a 16-inch toolbox saw. I'll start by reshaping the tote to a more traditional look, and taking off the years of grime. Then the sawteeth get planed or jointed, reshaped, sharpened, and set. Lastly we'll get some finish on the tote, and put it together so I can give it to my son.

    I know this video is old, but that looks like a interwar period US military surplus saw. Those were filed rip with a fair amount of fleam.

      Thant makes sense Jim, thanks! And you may be right on what this saw is, it came to me in pretty much the condition shown, and I don't know anything about it.

      8 Points Per Inch or 8 PPI which refers to the number of saw teeth in one inch.
