Things that helped her recover: @16:30 1) nutrition and diet (working out what was triggering her severe gut symptoms) 2) learning how to rest 3) meditation (to calm nervous system) @18:45 4) celebrating improvements 5) "incremental training", both physically and cognitively (walking and reading each day) 6) diet change - Terry Wahl diet
@38:35 gratitude journal - every single day write down three good things that had happened, and also just journaling in general to help get things out of your head so you can sleep
When I get better I will never complain about going to work again! I’m 70% recovered on most days. Exercise is still a problem. I’m not sure what’s missing with the last 30%. I have reoccurring SIBO so vegetables are super problematic for me. My partner works 6 days a week so we can afford all the foods etc. Hopefully it will all be worth it!
Hey Melinda, thanks for the comment. 70% is something to be celebrated!! You’ll get there, as will I, just keep trying whatever you need to try and go with what works for you. You’ve got this 🙌🏼
These videos have really given me hope so thank you for that ❤ I have Lupus and Sjrogens so I know it’s not exactly the same but similar symptoms, experiences and causes.
Jo your journey is remarkable! You seem like a wonderful person overall. It’s just super encouraging to see people who have experienced similar things and managed to find their way out of this. Thank you both for the time and energy you put into spreading the message that recovery is very possible!
I love your podcasts. Thank you so much for making them. I have CFS since 6 -7 years ago. Listening to these conversations makes me feel inspired and less alone on this journey.
Learning to trust and love your body again and celebrating the little victories are the two things that take me from bedridden to loving life (in moderation) again. It is a neverending proces and we always stay anxious about the possibility of deteriorating health. I love the fact that I know so many smart fellow sufferers that go above and beyond to crack the code. I even think I love life more now than I did before I got sick.. Grief about what was, get in contact with the universe and create a version of yourself you love even more!
LOVE this and the positivity!! we will all be better people for going through this, I think it just takes some time to realise it, lol! thanks for your comment :-)
I feel guilty if i rest...and I think people are lazy who take naps...i think in just jealous & angry..and that makes me Sad cuz I dont want to be an Ass hole...😞
I had recently covind and then since month has gone as I was in home isolation for two weeks thanks to almighty all m symptoms r over but as i do little work i get tired easily now i cannot run too fast now
So refreshing to hear a recovery story where no recovery program that costs thousands or hundreds of pounds was her way out of it.

Even cold showers are a good start. I have a child to get to school so I have a quick cold shower and it really makes a difference to now I feel

What in the world does "get in contact with the universe" mean?
This was so good, thank you both! I follow Jo on insta and she's so lovely and informative.
How did she deal with the insomnia?? To me that is what makes this so dibilitating, is the bad sleep, no deep sleep can't function like that.
Dealing with This Now..😪😪
Learning how to rest is still something i cant do
It’s not easy man, because all you want is normality and so to rest feels like giving it which of course it isn’t
I feel guilty if i rest...and I think people are lazy who take naps...i think in just jealous & angry..and that makes me Sad cuz I dont want to be an Ass hole...😞
