    Is there a way to toggle Right Stick axis from Pitch/Yaw to a Pitch/Roll with a switch?
    Like toggle HOSAS to HOTAS

    • @Reds_Resort
      @Reds_Resort  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In star citizen I'm sure there's a yaw/ roll toggle yeah. Defo think I've seen that in the binds.

      @@Reds_Resort i see.. it works but with one small issue, the pitch is reversed since pitch/roll the pitch is pull stick nose up.. pitch/yaw is pull stick nose down

      @@trevorbelmont4633 does the normal invert axis function have any effect? You do this in the controls tab, not the keybinds tab. Make sure you have the correct device selected in the bottom right then go to flight control and try and invert pitch there. It's pretty convoluted I know. Let me know how you get on. I might be able to help much better when I'm actually sitting at my pc.

    How is your aiming when you have yaw on twist? Or do you do most of your lining up the target with the strafing? Trying to settle on a good setup for both racing and PvP myself. Roll on X-axis is definetely better for flight control, its what normal flight sims do.

    • @Reds_Resort
      @Reds_Resort  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aiming is great. Mostly aiming is done by rolling onto the target and its vector and from there your mostly using pitch and strafe up and down to line up a target. Yaw still comes in very useful for corkscrewing and orbiting and the twist seems to be pretty sufficient. Hope this helps.

    How often do you fire weapon group 2 on its own? To me it makes sense to use group 1 most of the time and only bring group 2 in when there’s guaranteed hits at which time I want all damage on so both groups. This makes trigger stages easy. Stage one, group 1, stage 2 fire all.

    • @Reds_Resort
      @Reds_Resort  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah I thought about that for a while. But for things like EMP you really need a separate channel. And rebinding it everytime was just too much hassle. Plus if your shots are 2 different speeds you have 2 separate pips etc so to conserve ammo it's useful as well. The mfds let you assign what you want in each fire group though so, like you say, mostly I just assign every thing to group zero.

    I totally agree with you on the strafe up/down on the left stick. I have it the same as it's very intuitive to me. For thrust though, I'm using twist axis, like on a motorbike.
    May I ask you, as a user of the Z-Extension, what are your thoughts on using that for right hand as well? I've been thinking of such setup, with dual Z-Extensions, but I'm worried it might be difficult to rewire the muscle memory for aiming this way. I've also done some research on Virpil's products, and it seems like the WarBRD base is the only one where you can get perfectly symmetrical tension, due to 2 symmetrical cams per axis - so that's what I ordered for my first Alpha Prime R. But this base apparently doesn't go well with extensions of any kind, so I don't know.. But I have to decide at some point 😄

    • @Reds_Resort
      @Reds_Resort  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought about z on right but for me it wouldn't make much sense. I use twist for yaw on that hand and it would become unintuitive. It may indeed become unintuitive in a lot of ways, like you say for targeting etc. Plus I like to play DCS alot too and wasn't up for swapping parts out all the time. It would maybe be cool to mess around with though. Get like a pod racing bind set up somehow.
      I have a warbird base on the left stick with the z extension and it's never been an issue so I'd totally recommend it.
      Over Christmas I got my virpil pedals so now thrust forward and back are on those. Very nice and smooth. So much control. They have toe brakes as well so that's now boost and brake. Think I'm genuinely happy with how it's all worked out. You need any more help let me know. o7
      Edit: I think if you've heard it doesn't go well with extensions it's been about the longer straighter ones. This is true. If you plan on mounting your base and it's lower down than the desk then the other bases virpil offer are more suited. Centre mounted between your legs with a long extension for example.

    how to install matric ?

    • @Reds_Resort
      @Reds_Resort  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you follow the link to the web site there should be a guide or something there. But essentially your downloading something to desktop and then something from the play store on your device. They should then talk to each other when you have them both running. It been years since I set it up so I'm not sure of the details but I don't think it ran into any major difficulties.

      Damn. That's insane. There is a weird sale on just now I noticed. It's like 5%off for each additional device you buy. Upto 25% which is pretty good if you had the cash to buy everything at once that is.... You'd still be talking thousands though. Mines is concurrent Christmases. Little bit every year. 😂

    Ok a few things.
    Appologies for the audio.
    I ended up filming this on my phone for the mobility it afforded.
    Appologies for the video quality.
    I did have a DLSR set up but I just couldn't get enough light in, and with the ISO up full chug it looked like running your eyes through sand.
    I missed a few things.
    1. The cams are Cosmo soft centre on heavy springs.
    2. The reason for the Amazon Alexa control of the second monitor is so I can cut all the other light sources when I'm playing anything other than Star Citizen. And just for extra coolness.
    3. On the left stick I forgot to mention the 4 way at my thumb rest just under the thumb stick axis.
    For up this switches from cockpit camera to external.
    Back is look behind.
    Click used the external software opentrack to recenter head tracking.
    Anything I've missed let me know.
    I was pretty flustered making this for some reason. Was disappointed with the over all quality and performance. However the big light was a time limited arrangement so I had to just make do. o7 guys.

      For what games specifically? Star Citizen doesn't support more than 1 bind natively so that's a problem. I think most people use external software to get around that usually. Maybe joystick gremlin but I'm not sure. I personally don't run more than 1 axis in star citizen for the same movement. But I have heard it can be done.

    Went through your reddit profile and watched all of your "things you didn't know" series. Came back to this video to watch it. Saw your section on your PC and you mentioned something about you might need an "upgrade". I just did upgrade my PC and thought maybe you would be interested in the results.
    First off, I'm using a old Vizio 32" TV, E320-A0 as a TV and it only has a resolution of 1366x768 and a fixed frame rate of 60Hz.
    My old hardware was AMD FX-6300 with all core overclock to 4.1Ghz, 32GB (4x8GB) of Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600 CL9 with DOCP enabled, a MSi R9 290 Gaming 4GB gpu, a Seagate Firecuda 120 2TB SATA SSD, all mounted in a ASUS M5A99FX PRO 2.0 motherboard with a Cooler Master Seidon 240mm AIO keeping the CPU cool.
    My new hardware is a AMD Ryzen R9 7900X (stock speeds), 32GB (2X16GB) of Gskill DDR5-6000 CL36 with AMD EXPO and Smart Access Memory (resizeable BAR) enabled, a Sapphire Pulse RX6800 gpu, and a WD NVME SSD (4th gen) as a boot drive and the old Seagate SATA SSD became a pure storage drive, all mounted in a ASUS TUF Gaming X670E ATX motherboard, with a ARTIC Liquid Freezer 2 A-RGB 420mm AIO.
    Notes on this new build. The bios on the motherboard would not recognize the SATA SSD as a bootable drive. This resulted in me making a run to Best Buy on a Sunday morning to get the WD NVME SSD after spending about 9 hours on the build on Saturday (2-3 hours was cleaning everything as I removed old parts, another 1-2 hours was spent squeezing that big honking ARTIC AIO into my case and getting all the fan wires routed so they would reach). It took several days to get all the drivers installed correctly. There are bios updates available and a newer BIOS may have made it so that the SATA SSD was bootable. I went with the 420mm AIO because the Ryzen 7000 series ramps to TDP quickly and adjusts performance based on how much work it can do when it reaches TDP. That said, I played SC for several hours yesterday (November 5th) and asked my wife afterwards if she heard the fans and she said no. She had been sitting in the same room the whole time.
    Performance in SC: So far I've been to Microtech (home) and Crusader, Orison in game. Everywhere on Microtech and it's moons runs at 60 fps, which is the refresh rate of my monitor. So I went to Orison to see how it performed. Everywhere on Orison was 55-60fps until I went to Cloudview Platform. On Cloudview I 45-55 most of the time and saw 39fps around the Sculpture/fountains and inside Stratos. I saw a peak of 27GB of system RAM and 8 GB of VRAM being used. I could not be happier with my upgrade. That said, with my new found enjoyable frame rates I plan to not upgrade my monitor until after the Gen12 renderer and Vulcan are implemented.
    For you, with you much better hardware I would recommend not upgrading until after Gen12 and Vulcan are implemented. For one, the drivers/bios will be more stable on all of the new hardware. And two, Gen12 and Vulcan may push your need to upgrade back.
    Sorry for writing a novel. I hope it helps in the future somehow.

      Dude this was awesome thank you so much. It seems the game spends alot of time CPU bound or GPU bound depending on where you are. I've seen people recently running your CPU with the new RTX 4090 and their result obviously aren't much better than they were getting before. So yeah I've got a wait on my hands, simply for monetary reasons for a start. But I will say, even though 60 is the golden number, don't hold back on upgrading to a higher resolution. In alot of places you might not notice much of a difference. And there are a few external upscaling methods available now as well.
      But thanks again this was cool to read and I appreciate you taking the time. I will defo be holding off for a while because it seems like no matter the hardware it's still going to be relatively unstable. Might concentrate on getting pedals 1st. 😉🙏

      @@Reds_Resort Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I've been holding off upgrading for about a year. But, my hardware was old enough that it didn't meet the minimum spec on most new games. I would have held off until at least the beginning of next year if I my old hardware was better. It was at the point that I couldn't land at Loreville because the ship controls would rubberband and forget ground vehicles. Last night, I loaded Steve (STV) into my Cutlass and flew to Ghost Hollow, unloaded Steve, drove to near the crash site, completed the "clear out hostiles" mission by myself, mostly with a sniper rifle. Retrieved Steve and drove into the crash site, looted some weapons, drove back to the Cutlass, loaded up and flew back to New Babbage. Afterwards I flew to Orison and just walked around realizing that some of the sounds (club/bar music, background npc conversations, etc.) weren't even loading before.
      I would have upgraded my display too, but money isn't exactly growing on trees for me either. Anyway, have a good rest of your weekend! See you in the verse sometime. My SC login name is "Matt_Racer".
