I’ve never gotten paid enough to create a binder for a family 😂 That should be the parents job, but if you live that sort of thing, knock yourself out! 😅

I'm finding them really useful for my language classes with a foreign nanny who's now working in a household where she needs English to communicate with one of the parents. You also do a great job matching the color of your sweaters to your eyes - makes the clips that much more appealing to watch. 😉

I would love to see examples too!!! I thought it was such a great idea!!! I worked for a family years ago that had a recipe binder (a mix of printouts and hand written pages) of favorite dinner recipes- that was incredibly helpful at cooking times- no guessing, just follow instructions, a sure hit every time! Love your videos Michelle! They’re always super helpful ❤️
How would a Family manual look during COVID time? I’m a newly part-time nanny and I have a note book with little notes about the child and the family, but since the parents work from home there’s not much outside family info besides the city their relatives live in and little things like that that I have been given. I don’t know if I would need it… how do you ask for those things?
Hi Michelle & @Nanny Solution and anyone else who could chime in. I’m wondering if I could ask a question, although I didn’t get this particular position through the Nanny Solution? I have accepted a new position (haven’t signed contract yet, but need to within the next day or 2). The Mom is due to have baby on July 20th via c-section. 2.5yr old is and will stay in full time daycare🤔. I can pull her once or twice a week either full or 1/days for an adventure. My question is this and it’s making me feel super uncomfortable about this situation. The family is wanting me to start Aug 7th, which I have no problem with, EXCEPT there will be grandparents there for a week & then an Aunt/Uncle the following week until the 20th. With the toddler in daycare, they need me to drive her to & from with Mom not being able to drive for a while. I feel super uncomfortable starting a new position, without a bond yet formed with toddler, without knowing Mom or the home, having a bunch of relatives staying. Is this a bit of a ridiculous ask of the family, or am I being a drama Queen? Typically I’m fine with grandparents hanging out, but it’s always happened when the family and I know each other. Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated. I’m thinking of telling the family o will be available to transport toddler until family has left, but that’s all I’m comfortable with doing. TIA & sorry for the long book

It can be part of the job. Depends on what was discussed when you were hired and if they requested your help to baby proof the home. Anything related to the children is part of a nannies job.

It sounds like a decision you have to make for yourself. If you are not comfortable then it isn’t the right position.
