WOW you came up on my feed after watching another you tube. I'm Joyce from NW Fl. I've been cross stitching off and on since the mid 80's. I did take a break around 2000 and didn't pick it up until after my husband passed in Dec of 2021. I needed something to do so I went back to cross stitch. Time hasn't helped my eyes so I only cross stitch on 14 ct Aida but I love it. I'm waiting for all the new releases from the Nashville Market to come out. Like I need more charts!! LOL I guess we can't ever have enough. have you watched Helen D? In one of her you tubes she's doing a small mill hill kit and found a frame to hold it on from Etsy. I don't know if the lady had larger frames or not. I'm sorry I don't know the name of her shop. My older brother is a gifted woodworker and he made me a frame and his wife decorated it up for me. It's just right to hold the same Mill Hill kits. Now to get busy stitching on one. Happy Stitching
Well hello Joyce 👋🏻 So glad you found my channel 😁 I’m currently looking at a possible new start and am really considering trying it on some 18 count Aida to give my eyes a little break. I really love the way my stitching looks with 1 strand of floss so I think 18 is about as low as I can go without having to double up. I haven’t watched Helen D yet but I’m definitely going to check her out. Thank you so much for watching. It’s great to “meet” you 😊
So glad I found you! I was also a respiratory therapist in Canada. It was 50 years ago when I trained. I also stitched with Teresa Little Stitcher and got addicted to full coverage. I now have 20 + full coverage along with many other stitches. Thank you for your flosstube
RT’s unite! 😊 I was so fortunate that my partner when I first started in the field was a veteran therapist with about 40 years experience at the time. I learned so so much from her! So glad ya found the channel, and thank you for watching 😁
I used to cross-stitch 35 years ago before life got too busy. I remember completing at least 6 pieces back then, and have just 2 WIPS. Your video is encouraging me to get them out of storage and finish them.🙂 I don’t have anyone to talk crochet or crosstitch with either. I don’t knit but I do sew, just don’t have the space anymore to sew much.
I would love to see you get those finished 🥰 I’m so glad you found the channel. At some point I think it would be fun to do live stitching videos where we can work on whatever project we like and chat with each other off we feel like it.
I came across your video and am now a new subscriber. Love your WIP collection. And what you are doing for your daughter is beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing
I just found you, you came up on my recommendation videos. My name is Dee and I am from Alberta Canada. I laughed at your story at the beginning about your kittens. I too foster kittens, i just love having them and helping them become socialized for their forever homes. They sure do find trouble though!! Love your projects so far... onto the next!! Happy Stitching!!
So so glad you enjoyed my kitty story, and thank you for helping save kittens too! 😻 I’m just so excited to be “meeting” more stitchers. Thanks so much for watching 😊
Riolis is not a knock off they are really nice kits if you don’t mind working with the wool thread. Just found you today loved your kitty accident story.
I subscribed! I am a newer stitcher (started Apr 2023) and I also prefer lugana over linen and love 25ct 1 over 1. And I am so spoiled I am not even considering new patterns right now unless its on pattern keeper, Lol. I look forward to watching part 2! Blessings!
I just found you on Floss Tube! I don't have any friends that cross stitch either. Meeting new people is kinda hard but Sooner or later, maybe I'll meet someone. I live in Springfield, Missouri. The closest stitching store is in Branson and I go there ever so often but mostly buy patterns from 123 Stitch. I enjoyed your video and your taste in patterns, I jive with. I love the kitty's too. I stitch usually with my white cat named Gracie Boo on my lap. She's deaf but knows that when I stitch she belongs on my lap. We also have a Russian Blue named Captain Jack Sparrow. He not so supportive of the needle work. I can't wait to see your next video! Happy Stitching, Kari
Welcome Kari! 😊 I’m so happy you found my channel. Sounds like we have a lot in common! I mostly shop from 123 Stitch as well. They really do make it so easy! 🙃 Anyway, thank you for watching, and keep an eye out. I’ve mostly been posting my fiber art projects since I started my channel, but since my flosstube videos garnered interest I intend to start doing a weekly flosstube video 😁
You certainly have lovely projects. I have issues with 40 ct linen too - but found Verdal 40 ct -evenweave. BeStitchMe, Dyeing for Cross Stitch, and XJuDesigns are my favorites (I find it easier than over 1 on 25)
I'm doing the same Silver Creek design too but in honor of my husband. I put it away for a while but need to get back on it. I'm down in the flowers so don't have much more to go. So sorry to hear about your daughter. I too love Halloween. I think it's the colors I especially like. have you tried LED light? I know I can't stitch with an Ott light. Drs orders. I have forgotten why cut I love the LED lights. Just bought a LED light strip to go on my hoop. I saw where that helps when stitching on a dark color. We'll see.
I’m sorry to hear about your husband. I know for me I got very much back into my crafting after my daughter passed. I call it my therapy 😂 I find it very peaceful and meditative. I haven’t tried LED yet, but I actually have a pretty nice LED lamp I use for when I film my videos. I can also adjust how warm or cool I want the color of the lights to be. I’ll give it a try and see how that works. Thank you for the tip ❤️
Very pretty .you're really good at that ... i can't wait to see all of them..I love to embroidery and just started punch embroidery with my 27yr old granddaughter and 7 yr old great granddaughter 😊
@@QueenofSkeins looking forward to seeing it. They all will be gorgeous! I have done this too. I get into it and see another one that I have to start and there I go again. lol. Just like knitting. Down the rabbit hole. 😄
I loved seeing all of your projects! I think my favorite is the one you are making for your daughter ❤️🩹🫂 and the Jesus. They are beautiful and special. I am currently working on one that is a huge cat tree with so many cats. I think you would love it! I’ll pull it out and share it in one of my next videos.
Holy heck. That speaks for the colorfastness of the silk to not bleed being thrown through the wash like that. Nice save! ah-ha-ha-ha-ha... the classic flosstube runny nose! it happens to everyone. The end of a project is like a mirage... you think you're right close, so you stitch and stitch and stitch, and look up, and the finish is still as far away as it was when you started. Riolis kits tend to be legit.
I will have to go back and watch the video… the only project I remember of the top of my head that has a cat in it was the 2 ladies sunbathing…🤔 Is that what you are referring to? Just let me know 👍🏻
I prefer the round wooden hoops made by Nurge, and I like them to be the thicker style. As far as a number over a number goes in relation to cross stitch, it’s referring to how many strands of floss over how many holes on your fabric. If you were using 2 strands of floss on 16 count Aida fabric you would say 2 over 1. But if you were using 2 strands of floss on 32 count linen and you wanted the stitches to be the same size you would do 2 over 2. You would have to skip a hole to get 16 cross stitches per inch. The count of the fabric is how many holes for stitches per inch. I know it can be quite confusing to try to explain…it’s much easier to show 😊
Normally I’m just a lurker, but I also subscribed after the kitten story, anyone who’s had pets has a story like that, LOL. Hello from PEI Canada
Hello and welcome Joanne 👋🏻 So glad I could make ya laugh 😂 Thanks for watching!
Wonderful video! Really enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing! Subscribed so I don't miss a thing! Have a lovely rest of your day! Felicia
Thank you so much Felicia! Glad you enjoyed it 🥰

It really does seem that way (the mirage) 😂😂😂
I had to like and subscribe after the kitty accident story… lol
I’m so glad I didn’t run you off 😂😂😂 Sometimes I say things before I’ve quite had time to process… 🙃 Glad to have you here!
I used a scroll frame to stitch on both of my printed canvas pieces...
I’ve been thinking about getting a better/bigger scroll frame… that really does seem like the only way to manage this much stuff Aida fabric.
Love your kitty stories - too funny. Btw, can I ask what the kittens on your crossstitch projects are? So cute!
Thank you, and thank you so much for watching 😊

Do you prefer to work with hoops or the pvc pipe squares? Also what is 1 over 1 and 1 over 2 mean?
