I really enjoyed watching your video today. All the fun things that you’re working on and the beautiful project bags. You’ve inspired me to get organized with some of my wips.
This is my first time seeing your videos. You are energetic and hilarious. I thoroughly enjoyed watching .
Thank you so much!!
Well organized and ready for the race !!
Wow I used to live in Leesburg too! We then moved to Charles Town WV and now we are in MA, but I do miss VA! I love your categories and WIPs. I keep debating if I want to do Anniversaries of the Heart too, it is such a commitment but so beautiful!
WOW! What a small world. Yes, AOTH is beautiful but a commitment for sure!
Kari, not give up on Legacy linen! Maybe the Gloriana doesn’t go well with it, I’m not sure, but 100.3 is amazing in it! Legacy is some of my favorite to stitch on!
Love all your WIPS. I can not count how many times I screw out the size of my fabric or how close I can stitch things next to each other. I tend to forget that I need to double the margin so it goes on both sides🤣
So glad found another floss tube with someone from Virginia! Hi from Winchester. Need to go back to beginning
Hi neighbor! I used to live in western Loudoun in Purcellville, just just over the mountain from Winchester. I moved to Mt Vernon once my kids graduated from high school.
@@TigerLilyDesigns and I used to live in Alexandria--grew up across the river in Oxon Hill (now Fort Washington).
Wow! You have so many projects in the works. I don't know how you do it while running a business. You are inspiring to me. Thanks so much for mentioning me. Best of luck as you figure out how to move ahead on some of those biggies. Happy stitching. Best, K
now I need a nap😛
Back in the nineties when I did perforated paper we took floss and wrapped it around the edges like you did with plastic canvas. That way you had no raw edges showing. It is an extra step but it works.
Kari, I enjoyed your division of your wips. I absolutely get your thinking process of eliminating or repurposing wips. I have not done a single project according to the recommended fibers. I view patterns as suggestions.
I am doing Kindred Spirits. It was called for Feb by Wipgo, which I am doing for the first time. My problem with it is those giant dresses. I’m doing it on a LFA 16 count Aida. I was on their club plan too.
I bought your project folio pattern. I’ve even cut out fabric. I have beautiful vintage stitched pieces to do it. At 70 I’m being lazy about learning something new. I know all about garment making and zippers. I just want to sit and do easy counting.
Those giant dresses are a beast for sure! Slow and steady. Enjoy the stitch
I agree completely with your colour scheme conversions for christmas colors! Very romantic and cheerful. Matches my victorian tree decor. Joy to The World looks like a great stand-alone piece. That being said, what if you did the First Day, that you've already stitched, as a center and finish the other 11 days in a smaller count fabric (18 count) to place around it? If you did it like a clock, you could even possibly stitch a little coordinating poem or Bible verse to go in the 12:00 o'clock spot.
So love watching your joyful excited fun happy wip/collection/plans parade.
Thank you for all the great bag ideas too! 💡 🪡 🧵
Oh my, great WIP parade! I did not know I needed Liz Matthews "Days of Christmas" (in silk thread!) until now (and now is on my 123Stitch wish list). Also didn't know there were cross stitch projects that used wool thread --- ooh, a new use for my Aurifil stash from doing wool applique!
Regarding putting the "Lessons" designs together: can you find a/some simple border stitch patterns that are the same stitch counts as the difference in height between the sections and just put them in to bring them to the same size? Using the same border pattern whenever you add it in will make it look "intentional". You'll still have to do the math but it may not be as hard to combine the designs into one setting then.
Edited to Add: Okay posted that comment before I finished watching --- thank you, thank you, thank you for showing the Atom Heart Bobbin Drops!! I resisted "bobbinating" because I wanted to be able to put my floss on a drop once and move it from project to project -- not have to cut floss off of a bobbin and then have to use a separate drop to use the floss in a project and to have to label both.
Up to now and since I've mostly worked with DMC, my preferred drop is the clear acrylic ones where you can slip the DMC label on to it, cut the threads into working lengths and slip know the a skein onto it once with the skein providing the label and just move it from project to project. However, I have a multiple skeins of a brand of generic threads that I do use in projects that I'd love to store on bobbins and these would be perfect for those since I use them far less frequently.
Kari, this has been so much fun. I loved seeing all of your stitching and beautiful bags. I have to add that this month's Keeper Club was amazing, I loved everything about it! 💗 Thanks a bunch! Janine
Great wip parade enjoyed seeing all your beautiful projects have a wonderful day and happy stitching 😊🧵🪡🤗🤩
Thank you! You too!
Hi Kari. I'm so happy that I found your flosstube channel. You are very energetic and funny to watch you. Thank you for the video.
Hi Kari, I’am Maryland.
Loved seeing all your WIPS, Kari, and your project keepers too! I am amazed by how many different silks and flosses that you have. You do love your fibers! Looking forward to seeing you again as it was great to meet you at Amana this past year. Fun times! Dottie
Kari, I LOVED seeing your many WIPs. You have given me courage to abandon those that no longer speak to me. Your work is very inspiring to me!
I had such a good time watching this today Kari, you are so fun! Thanks for sharing all of your beauties- love your grandmother’s jewelry on your keepers- sweet perfection! 😊
Thank you so much!
Send ⭐️ your ⭐️ paper ⭐️ ornaments ⭐️ to ⭐️ a ⭐️ finisher! 😉
enjoyed your wip parade; I Love your project bags/pockets; they are Awesome! You are talented in so many fiber crafts. You are an inspiration to me. Thank you!
All of that fabric behind you is so fabulous!!
Such a fun WIP parade! So many beautiful pieces and I love your ideas for finishing those that you've chosen not to carry on with.
lol.... I can't do the perforated paper either... I don't like the unfinished look so I stitch them on Aida and finish in a flat fold or circle. Love your wip parade. Subscribed and liked!!
Great idea!!
Thank you for your honesty and candor as it relates to your projects . I could certainly relate
I can knit socks but I also love to knit hats. I knit way too many to keep or gift so I always find a charity to give them to in December. I have given to a family homeless shelter, a psychiatric hospital, and a school. They all have expressed appreciation and I feel good clearing them out to a good home. I use indie dyed yarn that I love and I think of it like golfing. Money spent for enjoyment. Bonus is someone else benefits.
Loved your wip parade love watching you have so much energy keep it up ❤❤❤
Loved your WIP Parade! I have several of the same projects planned for this year. I plan to start the sheep virtues and Anniversaries of the Heart! I think you should restart Anniversaries in a 36 or 40. You need to love the fabric - I will do it with you!!! It would be wonderful to stitch together. Thanks for the fun video. Happy Birthday!!! ❤ I hope your special day is filled with more blessings than you can count. Hugs!
Ok…I’m doing the happy dance…my Mary Morgan’s border matched up!!! Love your projects!
Fabulous parade. I pretty much stick to Christmas stitching I love it so much.
Great wip parade. So many beautiful pieces
This was the first time I watched one of your floss tubes and I really enjoyed it. Of course I just had to subscribe. Now I need to go and watch past episodes.
I liked seeing your WIP parade along with your project bags and keepers. I would love to see you do a tutorial on the recycled sweater floss bag, what a great idea!
Loved your WIP parade ❤ Happy Birthday for the 31st my birthday twin 💜 🎉
Fabulous parade…I too am very fabric sensitive and find it affects the enjoyment of the stitch substantially. We need to enjoy our hobby minutes.
I totally agree!
I love watching your videos. You are so fun! 😃
For your Satsuma chart stitch them on fabric and you can still finish as an ornament.
What a great way to sort your WIPs. I love your cardinals the small that you showed Beirdies and barries. I put it on my list for next year since I am on a no buy year.
Oh I thought you were going to do the Sheep Virtues as a banner piece.
Love your WIP Parade. So glad you are letting go of some of the projects. If it does not make you happy then move on. ❤❤
This was an epic wip parade. I loved the categories! ❤
Thank you so much sweet friend
So fun…loved seeing all the things! I have all the charts for Anniversaries and Winter Rose Manor, but haven’t started either one. If you decide to do Anniversaries, I’ll stitch with you. Happy Birthday! Hope you have a most wonderful day today!
What a wonderful WIP parade! Maybe you and your friends could stitch Anniversaries of the Heart with monthly assignments. That seems to work for a lot of people. Love, love, love your project bags!! Happy stitching!!
ooooo....that's a great idea. I love a good assignment. Now to go find some accountability partners :)
Loved your wip parade. Love your energy it’s awesome. I have to ask where you got your labels for your project bags? I need something for my bags that I can’t see what project I have in progress thank you for your help🤗
This was fun to watch. We have several of the same patterns. You totally inspired me to get out my Vivienne Powers 12 Days when I saw a finished ornament on your tree. I didn't stitch the borders on the 3 I had completed but decided to go back and add them and then stitched the fourth. Thank you!
Hi Kari. Knitting Newbie Kelly here... I have an idea for your perforated paper ornament situation. Why not do a skinny quilt binding finish on the edges? You could keep it square, and you can sew on the perforated paper with your machine. Maybe just use a heavier needle. In fact, I think this is a great idea. Because I'm a lot like you, I don't like the raw edge finish look of these ornaments... feels unfinished to me as well, and I can't get over myself. I 😜🤪
I dislike cutting out my Mill Hill kits. I cross stitch around the design in a square or round pattern and then use something (yarn, floss, pom poms) to over the outer edge. Some of these I finish I finish in a square and frame.
Love all you do, I have some of the same starts, just let one go to Goodwill for someone else to finish, oh my need to get up and stitch today.
Nice parade of works and finished designs. Like your conversions. I think you should do a braid video for us who need help to get the twisted braids perfect. This is my year to stitch Christmas. Your fingers have been very busy.
Im Lazy.. I need your color conversion for The telen Emblem Cardinal please ! ❤😂
Idea for your Satsuma. What if you treated it as a quilt top and added binding so there aren't raw edges?
Just discovered your site and so happy I did. I love samplers and have not made any for some years...... Going to get back to them after I saw your beautiful sampler on the go. Did you make all those floss keepers for your project? Would love to make or buy some of them.Projects would be so much easier to do. Thank you
Oh, I need to figure out which WIPS of mine that are almost done - - mine probably need just a week to be 100%. Yours look like 3 days & done! It's great that you stitch on all fabrics. I think LFA moved from CT to VT. Good idea to finish the F&R at month one, it's beautiful with Mo's silk. I'm starting their mystery 2024 SAL a bit late, hope by next week and catch up. Just hit the perforated paper with a Sharpie on the edges. ** Happy Birthday ** 🎂
Helen D stitches her perforated paper projects on fabric, then you don’t have to worry about any of the background.
Yes! I might have to try that
I love it that you just don’t want to stitch some of those. My first ones I feel that way about
❤❤🎉
💡idea mrs.tigerlily maybe instead of abandoning the WIP maybe do giveaway the WIP as a flosstube giveway
Would you please share your color conversion for your block party please.
Hi. Love your wip parade! I need the berries in a basket pattern. Can you give me more information? Who is the designer?
Why not cut white felt to back the ornaments with perforated paper?
Hi, I would like to know how to write DMC number on DMC plastic card. With a label, I am afraid it removes. Usually, on DMC cardboard we write with pen.
I would like to know too if DMC plastic card is more thick than DMC cardboard. Because I would like to storage in my drawer but I am afraid it tooks more place.
Is anniversary of the heart still available?
I also love Aida tried linen a couple of times just don’t like it I want it to be fun not monotonous
