Everything you said made complete sense. And yes! Curved lines need to be done once and quickly to get that gorgeous line to them. Watching you paint this brought me pure joy! I love the contrast of that gorgoi red and the gold. Just beautiful! Thanks for sharing. xx
Great idea for black paper, turned out beautifully! I also really enjoyed your way of presenting - very soothing and almost therapeutic. 🥰 Thank you very much! 👏❤️
Sometimes your work looks so darn easy I find myself feeling a little jealous! lol! I keep on trying. You are my watercolor hero because you make it doable, not impossible for those of us who do not have forty years to get it right! lol
I just love watching you paint,im new to watercolor, I've bought all the supplies you use even the entire set of silver black velvet brushes daniel smith, kurtake and the pens I have it all!! And I'm realizing that it doesn't really matter how much money I spend. I've spent 2k plus on supplies, it just never looks as good as yours.
How beautiful and elegant is this!!??? Love that contrast between the red and the gold!! You're amazing!! Thanks for sharing twin!! Hope you are having a lovely Sunday!! xx
C est juste magnifique, élégant Catherine. Et qu'elle excellente idée avec un papier aquarelle noir ! Merci beaucoup et bonne soirée à vous d Outre Atlantique ! ✨🌃🌈
This is absolutely gorgeous, and I love it with the white in it. In fact, I think you should frame it. You have so many great ideas to try. Now I have to make the time to do it.
Kramer Gold has definitely become your trademark signature, and I love it! I've got a different brand, not nearly as vibrant, but I just am in love with the hold now too! Can't wait until I can order a set of paints from Kremer Pigments! I plan to get gold, silver, bronze, & rose gold. I just cannot get enough of these tones. Thank you for giving me some ideas to start using them.
Hi , I have never used black water colour paper .... your painting looked absolutely stunning so different and such a fab idea thanks for sharing all the best have a nice weekend Lin 👍💞🐕🦋
This is beautiful! I really like the colors on the black and your stoke technique is very nice. I like the instinct strokes that we kinda get when practicing and having fun and creating. 😊💗
Love, love, love your videos and your talent. I am always inspired to create or at least try to create in watercolor after watching your videos. Thank you for sharing.
Love this! Know i can do it because of your encouragement and instruction! Just need the paper!! Love it and love the gold!! And i do like just a little bit of the white! Gives it contrast!
Gosh- this just makes me want to go order some black watercolor paper. This is gorgeous! I keep thinking how awesome a black red & gold Christmas card would look. Maybe a poinsettia w/ gold leaves? Could you try that for a tutorial?
I LOVE THIS! I think it is one of my favorites that I have seen you do!! I love your style. I find myself working it into my own paintings. Thank you!!
Lovely!! I'm so glad to hear you say there is nothing wrong with marrying different styles in one painting. Personally I love it and think it gives the piece another level of interest (combining realistic and abstract elements for example). My husband insists that you can't because it doesn't look right. This is one reason I need to ban him from my art area LOL.
Beautiful, CeeCee!! I love it! I just purchased that black WC paper and didn't know what to do with it!! Now I know or at least I'll attempt to do something!!! Thanks so much!! Love your videos!!! xoxox
I'm not sure if you're answering any questions here, first of all it's wonderful to see a successful Canadian here! 🍁 I purchased this paper at Ana amazing local art shop here in Regina, Saskatchewan. Played around with it last night but my red is not nearly as vibrant as yours after dried. I did use a highly pigments pan set, made locally (Stoneground Paint Co.) so I'm not sure what's up. Was very disappointed. If you have any suggestions I would greatly appciate it.
Salut CC! This is gorgeous, I don’t know if I’ve ever seen watercolour done on black before. I really like it. There’s something about the first brush strokes you did in red that reminded me of Japanese writing, though I can’t put my finger on why. Thanks for sharing this with us. 🙂
I love the black paper. As soon as you said black I knew there would be the bright gold. 😍 I'm really enjoying my Kremer gold. I see why you have an obsession with it. Re the Signo white pen.... Do you have any tricks to keep from having to coax the ink or is it typical for this pen? I agree with you that having to go back over a line that stuttered isn't usually a good result. I found myself having a scrap to reset the ball before every stroke. 🙄
Wonderful painting. You never disappoint. I love the colors in the Kremer pallete you have. I checked on ordering, but they showed them to be $89 US. Wow. Wish I could afford them.
thank you, Ann. i understand it's not in everyone's budget. i was extremely lucky to receive this as a gift. but there's something to be said about quality... i still vote for having less colors but of great quality. you can always mix colors together to create more.
I love this. Right before you talked about your brush strokes I was thinking that you have a very distinctive way with your brush strokes...so confident! Did you try again with something other than white for doodles? Could you use a very fine brush and paint? Thanks for sharing this. I saw this paper at a Blick store, but resisted buying it. Now it will be on my wish list.
thanks, Regina. yes, i could have used a fine brush. as i 've mentioned in the video, i'm not sure that the white worked for me but it was already there. i would have liked the doodling maybe in gold.... anyways, we learn by doing so now i know what to do. and you'll love the paper. it is excellent!
WOW. Your the second person I have seen painting on black watercolour paper this week....didn’t even know it existed! Really seems to make the colours pop.I love your piece....including the white 😊.Off to check U.K. websites for black watercolour papers now ! X
i have the same paper and have good watercolor, but found them to be in general not opaque enough. I wonder if you just knew which waterecolors would be opaque enough, or if only Kramer are this opaque or if maybe I should just use gouache. would love to see more work with water media on this paper
I wasn't a fan of the white either until you filled the center of the flower with dots. Then it really added something. I love this piece, as all you do ! ^^
Love this! The red and gold on the black water color paper looks awesome. Just wondering, if you could have doodled in gold instead of white, what could you have used!
thank you, Barbara! i would have either doodled with a very tiny brush and the same gold as i used for the leaves or used the gold Signo gel pen by Uni-ball. the gold is almost an exact match.
I love the black paper! Could you do some kind of Christmas trees or holiday foliage on this black paper. I think it would be so pretty with the greens, reds and of course gold... 🙏
Ah, this is just gorgeous! And I think white is perfect in there, it gives the painting nice touch of lightness (not that it would feel too heavy without it, but with it... it's just perfect :) ) For some reason it reminds me of some japanese art. And calligraphy (obviously, there are used those kind of brush strokes in calligraphy too aren't there). I'd frame it and hang on the wall. Though I would have troubles to choose the type of frame and colour of it...(probably some thin golden-ish one)
OK. Love the black watercolor paper and am definitely going to pick some up. Thanks for the links. I feel the white brings the painting to life. Would a Posca pen seep into the paper more than the Signo? Anyway, paint on my dear :)
Love this so much I had to try it. I used M. Graham Pyrol Red, PR 254. It went on nicely, but when it started to dry it became quite muted. I tried it again, making sure to use less water in the red, but it still seemed to mute out. I was tempted to go back and add a little more red over the top. Was curious what your's did when it dried?? ****Edited to add my paper type was Stonehenge 300 gsm 100% cotton, Aqua Coldpress, black. Thank you so much.
@@creationsceecee You did CeeCee and I thank you so much. I may try mixing up something else. I love the idea and so does my husband. For him to comment is rare, and he loved it too.
Hello to you! You have a lot of inspirations and also beautifull 💡ideas, to aquarel paintings, thank you very much indeed. You stimulated me also to go aquarel paintaing and other things to do 👍 Warm greetings from the 💐Netherlands.
Hi CeeCee, here’s where I fall on painting on black. I LOVE the idea, but they always seem somehow “off”. I love the contrast on black and how the colors pop, but really don’t paint on black. If the white was silver instead, would you have liked it more? Overall it was fun to watch, and indeed a quick painting. Claudia
hmmm, good question. maybe. i considered it for a bit but opted for the white. i still think the painting would have looked better with just the red and gold.
CeeCee, I am not a fan of the black paper. It reminds me of those velvet pictures of long ago. However, you have made a very interesting painting and I do like the white. color choice is limited on black paper.
Are there restrictions on selling art created roughly from this tutorial? or any of your other ones? I followed this tutorial roughly...and did my own thing with the piece...but it is based on yours...I am a beginner and have never sold before.
Everything you said made complete sense. And yes! Curved lines need to be done once and quickly to get that gorgeous line to them. Watching you paint this brought me pure joy! I love the contrast of that gorgoi red and the gold. Just beautiful! Thanks for sharing. xx

Love it. The gold, black and red is so strong but delicate at the same time. I, too, wasn't sure about the white.
Beautiful! I like the white , I think it adds a touch that the red and gold needed.
nice painting. .really enjoying to watch. thanks for sharing.
Canadian too, love your creations.
Expression is what art is all about.
Just got some of this paper and was looking for some how to videos. Yours was perfect and I like your analysis.
Never knew there was black watercolor paper! You have definitely renewed my interest in art.

These colors are beautiful CeeCee! I just received the red and gold as a gift for Christmas and wowzers! Are they gorgeous! Beautiful picture.

My goodness - 5 minutes!! You have such confidence in your techniques. That inspires me. Thank you
Very nice! I've done some watercolor on black, but it wasn't watercolor paper. It was just for doodles - to play with the glittery gold paints. :)

Fantastic! I have been a watercolorist for years, it is the doodling that intimidates me.
looks almost like sumi-e painting. That red pigment is fantastic.
Love, love, love your videos and your talent. I am always inspired to create or at least try to create in watercolor after watching your videos. Thank you for sharing.
This is ur one of the best yet the easiest paintings. Love it's everything -black paper, red, gold, silver, creativity everything.

Looove this one. Must some black paper to try...
Beautiful!! Love black paper .....and the colors are perfect!! 💜
Oh what a beautiful painting! The colors are smashing together, and so rich looking! Thank you so very much.
Absolutely gorgeous - white and all!!! I'd proudly have it on my wall that's for sure!!! 💚 💛 💜

Gorgeous painting! I'm living the red/gold on black!
Love this picture, the red is stunning with the gold!
Ho wow, je suis sans mot , le sujet , les couleurs et quelle richesse sur ce papier noir , bravo j’adore !
Beautiful! Gold and red are perfect together :)
I apreciate your inspiration.
I liked the skip of the white pen. It added lightness to the line. Cause the red and gold are the stars in this one.

Holy cow that's gorgeous!
Love this would make for a lovely holiday card. Like the background music.
Where can I find the gold paint and your work is fantastic
This is Awesome. Great work!! I also love to draw pictures.
I love the red, is it Kramer pigments? What color is it? Beautiful watercolor design.

Try using a white 1m Posca pen rather than the broad uni ball.
This is really nice.
