It turned out so well! The detailed tutorial was all it needed to be perfect! The dramatic background was something that popped up the painting giving it a vintage feel!
Hey Shayda! This was hands down a masterpiece with a very intimidating look but it took a sudden change when I attempted it making it truly easy than the looks of it! I gifted the picture to a friend of mine because she loves anything to do with the color black and her favorite botanicals, it was a memorable piece of art, thanks Shayda! Would love to do more of these contrasting art in the future soon! xx 😚
I really admire what you’re trying to do in your videos. I didn’t realize my passion for drawing until senior year of high school, because I was always under the impression that drawing is hard and I shouldn’t even try to do it because I would be bad at it. Once I tried it though, I realized I was good at it, and have loved doing it since. Anyone can draw or paint. It only takes patience and effort.
I would love to let you know that your videos have given me fresh inspiration to just pick up that paintbrush and TRY, even though I've never given painting much practice. Thank you for all of your wonderful videos, I've been hooked and love learning from you.
I know that this video was 2y ago, but I only had the confidence to try painting this today, and I love it! Thanks Shayda for your easy to follow video tutorials as always!
Truly one of my favorite tutorials ever! Can’t wait to try it I’ve watched it through once and will do so a couple more times before trying it. Thank you for upping the challenge on advancing our work!
I just discovered you on Instagram and immediately subscribed to your channel and I just have to tell you, I have watched a number of tutorials for floral illustration and watercolor, but your tutorials are by far the best and most helpful that I’ve ever watched! You give so many unique tips that I would have never thought of! Thank you for the wonderful content :)
Been watching you for a long time, your art gets more and more sophisticated while still retaining that essence of simplistic beauty. Lovely painting! I can’t wait to try this one.
Thank you, Shayda; this video finally persuaded me to go ahead and do the Patreon thing, I want to make that committment to watercolors. I also hadn't decided on what type of paints to buy, and now I know I want the Mungyo 48 set since your colors are awesome! Happy new year! 😁
I am a recent subscriber and I am so happy I found you! I took an art class in high school but failed shading a bowl of fruits. You explain, you draw, paint and pleasantly share how WE can achieve beautiful art! I love it! And Thank👍You! 🎨💐🌱🌿
I tried your technique with gouache and loved it! Used too much water with the black but I still loved the look of it. Thanks for the tutorial. I love your videos!
I am new to your channel but I already love your watercolor videos! I love how you explained each steps very detailed and precised. and the color mixing too. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much, Shayda, for offering the E-Course! It is exactly what I was looking for as I get more into watercolouring this new year - I can't wait to start! 🌸🌸🤗
Just want to say thank you so much for all your videos! I am a beginner at all things watercolour and I the joy I get from painting along with you makes me so happy. So amazed at how my version turned out (no where near as good as yours haha). Great video!
I really appreciate your style of instruction, others have put me almost to sleep! Very pretty and I am excited to try this idea of the black background. Just getting back into watercolors after many years away.
I'm a year late, but did this piece tonight & it was SUPER easy! Looked daunting at first, but SNAP! Worked out fairly well! (PS: congratulations on your en route wee one!).
This is lovely! Just for giggles, another approach would be "negative painting". Check out Sterling Edwards videos on the negative watercolor technique.
Shada this is beautiful! I want to see it framed! I think i want to do one for my sister with a bit of a blush flower - Thanks for the inspiration as always!!!
I'm a beginner and just finished a black background on a portrait, so don't know too much about technique yet. I noticed that my result looks like yours -- that is, the black looks "chalky dry", flat, and a bit uneven. Can I keep adding multiple layers of the black without ruining the paper to make it near 100% opaque? Also, is there a way to add a tiny bit of gloss to the black with a product so that it doesn't look so matte?
You make seeing this so easy that I feel like doing it even though I'm not an expert at all :) What a great effect the black color achieves! I wonder what pale roses will look like with that black background :) If you can one day, please do that :) I would be very happy! :) Thank you for sharing your talent and your charisma.
Wow shadya that,s nice , wonderful , superb , good , and keep it up I love your paintings and make more videos and I love you
I love how you make everything look so easy. Not that it always is when I try, but at least I believe it is achievable enough that I try at all!!
Please do more videos with this style of painting. I found it really easy to follow especially for a beginner. I loved the drawing and tracing method!
Very good. Green my favorite color. Beautiful.

Wow wow !!! You make it look so easy.. but I will try it :)
I'm a year late, but did this piece tonight & it was SUPER easy! Looked daunting at first, but SNAP! Worked out fairly well! (PS: congratulations on your en route wee one!).

I adore this!!! It’s simply gorgeous! Thank you for always sharing your amazing work with us. I cannot wait to try this.
Shayda I had an absolute blast doing this piece, thank you 🌷💕
I love your style
This is absolutely stunning! 😍
Nice appreciate very much your encouragement and making these lessons
Lovely- can’t wait to try!

Stunning!!
What an amazing tutorial Miss!!! I would definitely try to do this! Thank you so much
Love this so much
Thank you so much! Lovely idea and great instructions!
Love this! Would it be okay to just draw the picture lightly with a pencil if you don't have tracing paper?
It’s what I did too and it turned out the same except drawing lighter so the pencil marks won’t budge in with the colors! x
Very much inspired from your works
This is beautiful! Thank you for this tutorial.
Increíble, maravilloso..... bravo 👏👏👏👏😍😍😍😍
This is a wow !!!
So lovely 💞
Wow! Awesome 😁👏
