@@flameshock1013 that was always a rule, but only now they actually care. My theory, they knew Sully could one yeet xehanort into Oblivion, so they had to make sure there was no reason he could leave monsters Inc world. The world has doors too other worlds, so if they asked Sully to come, he could have done it easily. I mean to master yen Sid's place and then take a gummie ship to the key blade graveyard.

Fear, an unexpected weakness of Vanitas.
Of course the guy who says he's all about negative emotions would feel fear.
That's probably why Vanitas didn't just teleport back in. After potentially feeling fear for the first time since his last battle with Ventus, he most likely wants nothing to do with Monstropolis now.
Imagine Vanitas trying to explain this one to the organization members.
I imagine him in the fetal position saying “So many doors...”
“So this giant blue furry... THING! Somehow got behind me and grabbed with enough strength to keep me from moving, then CHUCKED ME THROUGH A DOOR LIKE A FUCKING FOOTBALL!”

Gods, this and the Luxord and Jack exchange aboard the Dutchman. I love how this all more or less started with Belle elbowing Xaldin in his gut and Disney/Squeenix just kept rolling with it.

In all honesty, if vanitas was sent to the hundred acre woods like in the thumbnail, he would be living in the worst kind of hell. Those mini games are nightmares. I feel like he would truly repent after some time there XD

Whilst Kingdom Hearts II is still my favorite game, I do love the story in Kingdom Hearts III more in no small part because the series has truly embraced how weird everything is and runs with it. Its the Jojo way of doing things, It helps makes the confusing story more enjoyable and outright reasonable: everything is insane so just run with it!
Dracomut It’s also in no small part due to how “convoluted” (and yet apart from the X Unchained stuff which I’ve to catch up on I’m still able to keep heads and tails on what’s going on) the series is and how self-aware the writing is in that regard to the point where they need to make Instagram posts to keep everyone else involved in the loop rather than just focusing on the protagonist’s perspective since that’s all you needed to really worry about previously (man, how helpful would that have Gummiphone service been back in BBS?). Axel/Lea becoming the embodiment of all that confusion is pretty much the pinnacle of that.

Why the pixar characters absolutely just laying all the org members to waste XD? We Woody giving YX the verbal beatdown, now Sulley giving Van a physical one, its crazy. Also, this is even better when you take into account Vanitas *CAN TELEPORT* . Nothing was stopping him from just.... popping back in. Apparently he decided "fuck that shit, l'm not risking getting tossed like garbage again. The other org members won't EVER let me live it down." and doesn't go back to save face XD. Least, that's MY headcannon
I like to imagine he was too scared of Sully to come back.
He ws probably too busy trying to fight his way back to the world to think about that.
And by the time he returned, Sora was gone.

Sooooo~, we all know acknowledge the fact that Woody and Sulley are the top tier Disney characters cuz they fought against Xehanort (young) and Vanitas.
1:02 You make a good point there. He wasn’t wearing his mask at the time. The only thing that Sora saw however was Young Xehanort and a “disembodied manifestation” Vanitas. The only conclusion that I can come up with was that Sora didn’t get a good look at Vanitas at the Cathedral because of his distortedness? You know what, I THINK SOMEONE FUCKED UP IN THE DIALOGUE DEPARTMENT. And it’s not the first time that dialogue was inaccurate from Japanese to English, it would kinda make sense if it goes like this.
Sora: Who are you?
Vanitas: Gotta day, that strange facade had me fooled at first, Brother.
Sora: Brother? I don’t know you, but you kinda look familiar. And hey, who are you calling strange?
G: Have we met this guy? D: Uhh?
Vanitas: We met at the Cathedral, but not in the flesh. I am VANITAS.
I mean that makes more sense right?

THANK YOU, LANI. I'm not the only one who immediately thought, "But... he can just teleport back, right?" Sure, the scene was funny, but my mind just went straight there as soon as he threw through the FIRST door... let alone the rest. My mind just went "but that's totally pointless..."
I think he just decided after the humiliating part of that fiasco made him decide it wasn't worth it.
Shen was surprisingly tame.
My favorite theory of where Vanitas ended up? There was this comment on a video that I can’t find anymore, that went like this:
Little girl: Daddy! Another burglar got in the house!
Florida Man: Another burglar? GIMMIE THAT SHOTGUN! BLAM! (shoots Vanitas)
Little girl: Get him daddy! Get that burglar!
(by the way, credit to whomever came up with this, even if I might butcher it a bit)
I'm watching this again years later and it's still one of my favorite moments in KH3.
I remember after I finished the game for the first time, I saw TFS Gaming's playthrough afterwards and I completely enjoyed their reaction to "Yeetus Vanitas."

This is my favorite KH moment. It perfectly encapsulates everything the series is known for: the nonsense lore, the annoying antagonists, and the insanely funny moments.
It also helps that this moment underscores the whole point of KH's story: it doesn't matter. The villains, for all their cool cloaks and evil schemes are just edgy annoyances for you to smack around.
That might have not done a lot of damage, but Vanitas will never emotionally and mentally recover from this.

One, he JUST got his body back, probably didn’t have enough power to make a corridor.
Two, even if he did, he probably has no fucking clue where he even LANDED to focus.
