@@Tiomioes Demyx is actually really easy, the only problem was that coming up with a strategy to take down all of the 99 forms in 30 seconds back then was a pain in the ass, but when people figured out the Wisdom Form + Firaga strat (or well, Donald's limits too) the fight is just easy, you only need to manage your drive and mp gauge properly and thats it.

That’s because during organization battles, the chance of getting Anti-form is multiplied by 5.
And if your counter is above five, you have a 25% chance of getting it. So 25% x 5. So you have a 125% chance of getting Anti-form if you have a counter of above 5 and fighting a organization member, you basically have a guaranteed Anti-form first time.
You know, for a guy who uses water as his element for everything (as far as this fight goes), the very last thing that I would guess him being weak to is fire.
It is because Kingdom Hearts does not have its own stats for the water element, so it uses the same as the ice one.

It should have been thunder because Final Fantasy X has water enemies weak against thunder magic.
I'm not gonna lie, Nico dying from sitar to the face was one of my favorite parts of that playthrough.

@@Lheticus I'm not sure if it's only in the final mix version or only in the remaster for the ps4. Basically there is this location where you can fight data versions of the organization members which is significantly harder than the original fight. Demyx is insanely hard and you have to be flawless when fighting some trial fazes otherwise you dont stand a chance to beat it in time

I like to think that the reason the water forms kill you is that Demyx is warming up some sort of spell that causes you to drown if you don't defeat them fast enough.

I always assumed that falling to kill all the forms in time meant that they would form a bubble around sora, therefore drowning him.

Fun fact: Hitting the water forms with Blizzard magic in the Data Rematch turns them into the note forms for the Wild Dance reaction command.
But it's far from recommended cuz it's nowhere near fast enough.
Ender41948 I would've thought it would be recommended because of its magnet effect, allowing more forms to be defeated by immediately following up the RC with Firaga. Although I suppose using forms would be quicker, but I don't use forms lol

I think it was donald who killed him, actually. I remember seeing a frame where Demyx made a tidal wave and Donald froze it and the ice crashed onto Demyx.

Yes and no. Donald froze Demyx water and Sora used strike raid to break the Ice causing it to crush unto Demyx.
Data Demyx: The fight that shows you "Press X to win" will make you lose. A lot.
if you put the fast magic (idk how to call it lol) of fire on the x button you can still spam it, lol

Aaron Lentz my logic was always square for defence because it’s block, projectile or item for x because x is attack, circle for other (normally thunder) and triangle for heal because he raises his keyblade up in the air.
My kid self, who didn’t know how to set shortcuts for magic/items and went down the battle menu to choose curaga mid combat: magiC SUcks

wanna know something? for his current dream drop distance lp this warning exists too. i think the qoute was "I am what nightmares fear" or something. we use the qoutes in the comments so we dont spoil who the boss is and can warn / hype at the same time :)

When I was a kid, I didn’t know how to set magic shortcuts. So, I never used magic unless I needed to heal because I always went down the menu manually.
I didn’t have fun with Demyx and if someone showed me that magic was actually useful for things aside from healing, it would have blown my mind

Yup. This boss and the Xaldin boss were the two bosses that kicked my ass repeatedly.
I really struggled with Xaldin. Xaldin? More like Xaldone! I had the sleeping lion key and died one with Demyx

and at the end of KH3 you learn that he's actually a special member of XIII working directly under the master of masters. Which explains a whole lot.

When you tap his shoulder, he hits you with his sitar and does a good chunk of damage. Since Sora was lowish on health when he tapped him, it instakilled sora
I played the ps2 version of this game as a dumb ass little kid and this fight had me stuck for months as the only spell I actually knew was cure and I was pure mash x to win with the occasional prayer that Donald might heal me. This fight taught me the definition of insanity as I literally threw lifeless Sora corpses at Demyx by the ton as I permanently offset my x button from pressing it so much. I'm not sure how I beat it then cause I can assure you I did nothing but beat the x button like it owed me money and won on a fluke, but to this day I was never once smacked in the fuckin face by Demyx that is an achievement

I've found once the water guitars are gone wisdom form is the best weapon to use, you can attack him from a fair distance away from his water attacks

I had it on ps2 and it was easy with the sleeping lion key. Just be above level 45 or you'll be Xaldone! Get the joke?

I did I think its just cause the water clones people hate it the boss I had trouble with was Luxord because of his mini game mainly the last part cause it was so fast bit then I found out you can pause the game to time it right it took me a week to beat luxords data battle

Beat him on normal once. Bet Data version is gonna murder me.
You gotta think, when i was a kid playing this game and fighting this guy, I didnt know about abilities or potions or anything like that. So somehow as a kid, I beat this dude on the ps2 with no abilities and the keyblade was still the kingdom hey. I also didnt know about drives so this fight became 20x harder as a child...
So when I did the story battle, I managed to turn into anti-form...twice...in the same try. That was unpleasant...
However, I did the Data fight on the first try, even having forgotten to put my ethers on my shortcuts. Made up for my earlier failure.

I actually had no magic hooked up for this so I in desperation casted Blizzard which let me use the reaction command. Then I lost to him by like 15 on his 99 forms. Then looked it up and people said to go Final Form or Wisdom Form Fire.
In the end I used Blizzard and then switched to Final Form for the 99 and spammed Fire just to be safe.
For those who dont know.you can shot blizzard to the water clones to make the reaction comand to come out.

As someone who's 100% this game in Proud (hard) every time he rages I just think in my head "Dance, Water, Dance!" because, you know, having a form of levity is the only way to beat harder gamemodes of Kingdom Hearts... Man I love this series.
