      I totally agree. If they had this service I would seriously consider trading in my Fenix 7X SS for the Pro version of the 7X SS. Just hope they still make it black. Not a fan of the steel and white combo.

      This. I would definitely upgrade my Fenix 7 to a 7 Pro if it was a ~$200-300 swing versus having to sell my current 7 for an uncertain resale value.

    • @alexaguest
      @alexaguest 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      THIS. These watches last far too long to upgrade as quickly as new iterations come out. Resale values also seem to drop significantly when I’ve looked to sell compared to what I paid for the watch

    Oh, thanks for the excellent detailed review. I was waiting for one of you outstanding reviewers I follow to review this, and from my perch in Munich, Germany, I believe you are the first! Nice work.😊
    I have the Epix 2 Sapphire and was wondering if I should upgrade, but I think after viewing your review, I won't. I like the idea of a bigger screen, but I am not sure my small runner wrists would support a 51mm watch. Also, the software upgrades aren't dramatic. I hope in further editions, Garmin refines the cases to allow for more giant screens of all sizes.

When I got it, it looked amazing and very sharp but I can’t get used to it and actually think I prefer the MIP. When that is in full sunlight it looks almost majestic haha. I'm still on the fence if I want to replace my Epix 2 and get the new Pro....the bigger battery and flash light are pretty cool but are they worth $1100??? That bigger screen sure is pretty though 🤣🤣🤣 what the heck why not! You sold me on it....let's just hope they work out the bugs on the weather overlay. Great job on the video and I appreciate all of you're hard work and dedication. See you at the next review!

    Phenomenal review! I got the Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar last year and I'm super happy with it. I'm a runner and I love all the data that I get from my Garmin watch. I also track my weight lifting training with the watch. Both the 7 Pro and the Epix Pro look amazing. If had to choose again I would probably get the Epix Pro since it seems there is little difference between the two watches now that the battery life is similar on both watches. I'll probably hold on to my watch for another 5 years so we'll see what's new then. Thanks for the review! Cheers!

    Really strange question: I recently bought the Epix Pro because of one of your badass reviews and you were 100% dead on about everything and this watch is beyond EPIC!!! I absolutely love this watch.....BUT......idk if anyone else is having this happen to them but by the 2nd week of wearing the new EPIX PRO there is a burn on my skin under the body of my watch. I went online and found a bunch of forums about other people experiencing this type of issue. Now some of them say it's the new sensor and some people say it's a cause from the watch gathering dirt under the watch. Just little back story. I take my watch off every day while I shower for that very reason cuz my last Garmin Epix would start to smell weird if I left it on for to long. So now I take it off and wipe it down every single day so I'm very doubtful that it's caused by dirt or bacteria build up.
    I wanted to ask you because in my personal opinion you're the Garmin Guru and I really don't trust anyone else's opinions or information when it comes to these specific models and the underground info that only the Guru of Gurus would know. So yeah.....is this a sensor burn or maybe they changed the alloys they normally use in the back casing? I've though of every possible cause and before it drove me insane.....I came here to ask the Garmin God's for a trustworthy answer or even just a valued opinion.
    Either way I still love this watch and I guess I'll just have to deal with the burn and hope my arm doesn't fall off....but it it does fall off....i have a whole other arm to put the EPIX PRO on so burn baby burn! 😂
    Thanks again for your hard work and dedication. Garmin owes you BIG TIME cuz I just bought the New Tactix Pro Ballistics to wear until I get this whole EPIX PRO issue figured out, and I only bought it cuz you speak so highly of Garmin..
    Thank you!

    To start with which watch you choose, I think you should first choose the size you like the most, then the color. I have big hands and wrists and still choose size 47mm which is not a small size and looks best for me (a bit more like a normal watch I think). When it comes to color, I choose silver as I think it is most reminiscent of a regular nice watch (a matter of taste). Then to the choice between Fenix 7 pro or Epix pro, the choice is Fenix 7 pro (47mm) as the battery life weighs a lot for me as I don't like to charge but also want a bit of a normal nice watch feel and like the dials. I wear the watch all the time, for example training, work and parties and when I sleep.

    I upgraded from the Fenix 7X Solar to the Porsche Edition of the Epix 2 four months ago (your Epix 2 review pushed me over the edge on switching…the AMOLED display >> the Fenix battery life) so I don't think I'll be upgrading to the Epix 2 Pro. I find it interesting that these models don't have an EKG feature. I guess maybe that's a feature more suited for average consumer model. I had been an Apple Watch wearer from the 1st Gen. When the Series 8 came out I bought the Nike version day one, but returned it after using it on one or two workouts. It was essentially the same as the Series 7 watch. I switched to the Garmin because I was getting more serious about training, and it was mind blowing the difference in training and performance information and feedback was. Add in long battery life and that the mapping feature is far more advanced, I'll never be going back.

    I tried the Fenix 7x Pro for a week. Liked it but didn't love it especially for the price. In that same week it went on sale. So I actually swapped it for the Epix gen2 Pro. Now this watch feels well worth the price and the Amoled screen is way nicer!

    I prefer the longer battery life on the Garmin fenix 7x pro sapphire solar. I spent two and half weeks on a camping/hiking trip last month and didn't have to charge the beast until the last week. Only because i used the torch on the beast more than i should have it's just so convenient. Im now looking at the Garmin Instinct 2X solar tactical for work ( Security Sector ) we'll see how the fenix 7x pro goes at work first. The Instinct has stealth mode where as the Fenix 7X doesn't! But I'll try airplane mode on the fenix and see if that does the same as stealth mode. Another awesome review mate thanks

    This made my day. As a long time Forerunner, Fenix, and Tactix user (curremtly 7X Sapphire Solar), I’ve been playing with the Apple Watch Ultra with its connected features and nice display, but much reduced sports and fitness attributes. I’m SO glad Garmin is continuing to eat Apple’s lunch, core, seeds and all. The experience of continuously wearing the Garmin devices and getting increasingly personalized data far outstrips the Apple experience, even with additional apps. Now that the Epix Pro has improved battery life as well as the new features, I’ll feel more comfortable adding an Epix to my Garmin setup and (happily) sending the AWU on its way 😅 [I wonder whether Garmin would consider adding Bobbing for Apples as a team activity…]

    • @stefaniesmith7117
      @stefaniesmith7117 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The two things I still gain from the AWU, is the ability to grab ECG readings for my cardiologist (plus Afib detection). And the ability to leave my phone at home. I know that cell service eats at my battery life, but it’s a great feature.
      I still wear the AWU on one wrist and my Fenix on the other though. I don’t want to completely give up my Garmin :-)

    Dave, I feel this is a kind of closure, because I bumped into your channel in the beginning of 2022 while searching for Epix Gen 2 reviews before buying it, and I immidiately became a fan ❤
    Back then, I really struggles with the decision of Epix vs the 7X. I wanted the bigger screen, but eventually the AMOLED screen broke me. And now, finally! No more struggling!

    I've been a Fenix User for a good few years now { I own and use the Fenix 5-X Sapphire}
    but Iv'e been debating recently doing an upgrade mainly for two reasons.
    #1) better and Longer battery Life { I would Like at least 21 days of daily use}
    #2) upgrades of the display and more detailed Mapp's
    if there was a 3rd thing I would say the 32 gig storage is pretty cool for Music, and storage of Apps and Garmin Pay etc.. so Iv'e been looking at the Fenix Garmin 6 SOLAR PRO ive been able to locate a few for apx 400$ so thats a decent deal but If I can find a Fenix 7 for maybe 500$? then i'll pull the trigger.
    good video dude thanks.

    As an existing EPIX gen 2 user, I see no reason for upgrading. The watch is still amazing and the new features don't really sway me into buying the newer model. However, if the newer models had included LTE capabilities, THAT would be a game-changer. BTW, the Epix 2 pro 51mm LOOKS BRUTAL man!! I see why that'll be your go-to watch. Great vid as usual! Kind of a toss up. They both have advantages in different lighting conditions. Fenix is still easier on the eyes in blaring direct sunlight while the Epix can get a little hard to read. However in just about every other situation I prefer the Epix.

    I'll sell my Fenix 7x and get the Epix 2 pro 51mm. The main reason is the screen and now paired with the better battery life. I love the Fenix 7X with its massive battery life that I almost forget I've got to charge from time to time but the screen is always meh compared with OLED. The Epix 2 pro will be a bit of a hit on the battery life but the screen clarity and resolution will be much better for map reading while out walking which is my main use. Also the improved HRM for Racketball will be good.

I go back and forth with the 47mm fenix and Apple Watch. I currently have the Apple Watch ultra and have always wanted to try the 51mm fenix.
