A very well judged view of the mk4 Astra, they are great little cars. Tough and durable, easy maintenance and enjoyable to drive. Probably the best balance between old car simplicity and modern car convenience?
I like the rugged look of the plastic bumpers, white paint and the steel wheels
I recently bought (April 2024 for £500) a 2003 Astra Club 1.6L engine from a local mechanic who done a snapped timing belt (probably due to age rather than mileage at 52800 miles) on it. I have one rusted rear wheel arch as described in this video - I am thinking of buying fenders for the arches from Ebay?. It is quite the allrounder and suits my every day low mileage needs. I am enjoying exploring the local area (North Wales) with it. Very Happy. My previous car was 2006 Meriva 1.7 diesal - JUNK! I got rid of it after 6 months to the scrap man.
This car is definitely a keeper
A true classic. Many still on the road. Must be super sturdy and reliable
I always love this Astra the Quality and the finish was brilliant compare to rivals at the time my dad has a x reg one brilliant car
I’ve got a mk4 Astra, three door on a y plate 1.8 sri I have had the car over 10 years. Been off the road for five. Just getting it back on the road now within the next week. Fingers crossed
I've recently bought a 2002 1.8 Astra with only 30k on the clock! It's been incredibly well cared for, you'd think it just came out of the factory! Lovely little car 😊
Omg i thought you had pinched my whitey lol. Had to check he is still here 😂 . Mines R102. same colour glacier white. Im second owner, ive had him 19 years. Mines 1.6 16v though and done 66k mileage.

This was always my absolute favourite Astra especially the dark blue/navy one.
Very nice car, deceptively bog until you see the sun roof and electrically controlled mirrors. Definitely a keeper. Great cars, woolly steering was good for cruising

Enjoyed that video, i have a 1998 1.4 16v with 233000 miles ,had it now 14 years, trying to keep it on the road but the last 2 months has been very testing, head gasket problem, fuel pump replaced , think water pumps now leaking, maybe to go :(, what i liked about it easy to maintain, no ABS, no Air conditioning, less to go wrong with it, just EGR over the years really, .clean or replace, easy job.

Radio has my Birthday What are the chances, good video My dad had one of these it was an 04 plate or something of that age Mk.4 Astra he got it after his Mk.6 Ford Escort Packed up and I remember in the mid 2000s there was loads of theses about usually 2001 or slightly later but they didn't really change much since the original Astra Mk.4s and I think there fairly decent looking cars for the age and have aged well. I haven't run the Cali this year ,but hope to get it on the road in may next year

I have just bought a Vauxhall astra g mk4 because I hate modern day cars full of nasty electronics.
This astra drives extremely well though the roof lining is missing & needs replacement but it was cheap to buy & as i said it drives extremely well & is reliable which is an importance to me & is easy to work on & repair unlike modern vile cars.
