    Good stuff buddy! This is exactly what the community needs. I've been on the edge with the V60 but it looks perfect for someone who wants to have modern convenience, but wants quality audio.

      Thank you! Yeah the 2 screen thing is a bit bulky but, hey, you can pick! I think all the modern LGs from the G7, G8, V40, etc have great headphone amps. Though no one has measured, I think maybe the one in the G8X is a hair better than my older G7 but its minor. And LDAC!

      Yeah especially now that LG won't be around anymore it's vital to grab LG devices while you can. Not even to use as a phone necessarily, but as a multi-purpose mobile computing device and portable DAC/ Bluetooth adapter

    These are the actual insanely great devices. I just bought a new Sony phone then learned about these, such is life.

      DUDE! No doubt. I keep preaching the gospel of the LG G8/X and it falls on mostly deaf ears. Sad!! These phones are FUCKING good and especially so for an audiophile.

      Thatsy I picked this up as a secondary phone. My primary one is reliable iphone se 2020 ( which I plan to keep it until apple stop support). LG G8X is an awesome machine. Apart from that unreliable finger print scanner I am very happy with the device. The Amoled is one of the best. Better than last year one plus flagships (1080P). Sad that lg is out of business now. ☹️

    I just realised that Lg phone ships with an inbuilt music player 😂.. I use Spotify. Thanks for the video. This is an underrated phone all LG phones are underrated. From V20 onwards they improved their game but didn't get the attention it deserved.

    V50 + ES100/BTR5 + 512gb card + UAPP/Poweramp

      @@MichaelBruceShortbus Hi. I'm planning on buying G8X. Can you tell me if the quad dac/amp effects can be felt while watching TH-cam music videos too... or is it only for the downloaded high quality audio formats alone... because my seinheizer hd599 with Dolby atmos on Samsung M30 don't sound much. But the poweramp app boosts my seinheizer 599 really good with the gain ON... please advise.... thank you for the video on G8X

      @@harryvprmnc i have an Fiio Btr5 and I got to say it doesnt affect that much.It improves the IEM you are using but its not the best Bang for the buck. I would rather invest the money on good IEM/Headphone than on DAC. In your case if you arent planning on investing on Headphones, I would suggest get a normal phone and buy the E1DA 9380s and run them unbalanced

    • @mrfrosty3
      @mrfrosty3 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@randomdudecommenting2750 I have the BTR5 and BTR3K and love the things. I have pretty much quit using my many wireless headphones. Its great being able to use any wired headphone in a semi wireless manner. I stream flac files from my Sony phone including flac from Qobuz using LDAC and it sounds great. The two devices sound a little different, I think I might prefer the BTR3K sound a little more but both sound great. I use balanced 2.5mm cables and get a ton of volume, I have been told I listen loud and at 50% on the BTR5 it is way to loud for me. If I'd known about the devices earlier I would not own so many wireless headphones and ear buds. I still enjoy using my Sony wf1000xm3, great sound and ANC and super convenient.

    At this stage of companies was using the right technology like in cameras and screens. We should have a dedicated mp3 player.quad dac with 32 bit by 500hz so we could use iems. But no. In this days we have no sd.no.cable.no dac.no charger.no nothing and then they try to sell us a crap 19 bit 98hz wireless crap that sounds worst than a kz iem for 200 dollars. And guess what, the new morons millenniums they even clap their hands at samsung and apple when they don't know shit. Seriously. What's next. Wireless crap camera for 200 bucks. LG. Come back please.

    What are you guys using these days? As someone who's been using an LG V20 and now a G8X for the last decade it really sucks that they've left the business. I really have no idea what I'm gonna use when these can no longer keep up. Thankfully, the V60 and G8/G8X are no slouch when it comes to specs and Lineage OS is even available for some models too.
    (Sony's phones looked pretty nice, but go figure that they're quite rare, so therefore expensive here in the US, so I haven't looked that close into them yet.)

    LG becomes the Premier audio phone to own then decides to get out of the phone biz. I absolutely have enjoyed this phone but, T-Mobile and everyone else wants 3G talk on phones to die so,now I'll be on the hunt for another 4G VoLTE phone. I will keep this LG G8X as my goto music player. What a shame.The truly good shit always seems to gets run down by the B.S. bells and whistles of the big boys (Samsung,iPhone and now Google). Thanks for talking this phone up. Peace.

    I could never keep glass screen protectors on... They would always break or get disrupted. Plastic ones could work. I didn't really need it because the device closes on itself when you're not using it.

    That could be true as a DAP even if I prefer the Sony.
    As a streaming device is an iPhone is just better.

    • @MichaelBruceShortbus
      @MichaelBruceShortbus  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      iPhones suck for everything. I hate them. Why better for streaming? They arn't because they have no LDAC.

    • @villageroma
      @villageroma 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MichaelBruceShortbus well ios doesn’t resample music like Android does therefore streaming services like Apple Music, Tidal and Quobuz are bit perfect.
      Then again battery life is an issue here but not for an IPhone which is impossible to kill in a day and de-facto has the best battery life of the market. There’s also the advantage of stability because of extreme optimisation and because the os hasn’t made necessarily run on millions of possible hardware configurations you can have on an Android hardware.
      Again ram management and file system are way ahead of Android.
      There is also somewhat of a big advantage on an iPhone that comes to the fact that ios is Unix based vs the Linux based Android. No need to explain here the limitations of that mess called Linux and Java here.
      Because of Unix, apps are better made and more stable. Take instagram for example.
      I own an Android phone, the Galaxy S21 that was given to me with the subscription of a 2 years contract from my carrier. Coming from an iPhone 8 four years old have to admit that at the end of the day I am better. served by the 4 years old iphone.
      Just my 2 cents.
