so happy I found this. I'm 28 and 420lbs, I am in the same exact position you were in when you decided to start losing weight. I'm tired of being fat and I am tired of having panic attacks at night when I think about dieing in my sleep or having a heart attack. I'm almost 2 weeks in to my life change. thank you for posting this video.
I'm getting used to eating right everyday it doesn't bother me anymore. I think I worked out to hard in the gym 2 days ago. My shoulders and triceps were soo sore yesterday and today my shoulders are still fucked up. Take it easy man, it's not worth going hard one day if your down for 2 or 3 after.
Tank time actually i ended going to my dr and i did hurt myself. i sprained the muscles in the front of my shoulders right next to my clavicle. im a new guy with 200lbs of extra fat to lose. you dont know the type of dedication it takes to go into a gym at all my size. even though i was out of the gym i still maintained walking for 2-3 miles a night. light lifting? do you have any type of professional experience giving advice? im 400 lbs i could sit in a chair and flap my arms and shred weight as long as i maintain a caloric deficit. im taking it the next level and going hard because thats the type if dedication i have.
Johnny Bones Keep pushing, you can do it!!! Please don't let +tanktime comments get you down. You don't have anything to prove to anyone but you!!! Good luck 👍
I am 19. I was weighing 290 pounds this January. I've been working out for 7 months and have lost 95 pounds weight. Your video also inspired me in my weight loss
You either come to a point where you hate yourself enough to change or you love the ones around you more than you love food. Either way you need your own motivating factors to push you through the days when you just don't want to cross the finish line.
Actually, that's not how it is for everyone. I've lost 10.5 pounds in a week too, but that was the first week. As I continued eating the same way, the pounds per week lessened until it because about 3 pounds a week (give or a take a pound). And then looking back, my weight loss averaged out to around ten pounds a month. So usually when a person starts, the water weight falls off as well as initial weight loss.
Thanks for this video, I have been trying to lose weight for about a year now, but have come to find out that I have too many excuses- it has either been my night shift schedule, the weather outside because I live in the midwest, or my obligations as a single parent, I just have found so many excuses that get in my way and I also think that I have been without exercise for so long that I have become accustomed to being lazy so the thought of it makes me dread doing it. I figured I can definitely walk- so I looked up videos that had to do with walking and weight loss and I ran across this video, it was good to see and hear that someone struggled the way that I do and it's all about making up your mind and not giving up thanks for being an inspiration.
awespiring story. I'm my own journey. thanks for sharing. any overweight you lose yourself. getting back to me is what I'm doing. I use keto. 40 lbs down so far
i m 52 years old 6'1 and 315 pounds and i have been heavier. i have had 5 knee surgeries 1 shoulder and recently 1 on my lower back due to a car accident. the meds and lack of activity has got me gaining weight and i cant stand it anymore. i just sat her and after watching you Pat you have inspired me to MAKE A CHANGE. i called my wife from work and told her Monday i start walking and eating better ,pull out the food scale and we are going to plan out my meals. THANK YOU PAT!!!!!! I will keep you updated on my progress because failure is not an option.. because of if i fail i'm failing myself.
You're an inspiration, fam! You're message speaks volumes and most heavier ppl can appreciate this. You've earned a subscriber and a fitness follower. Keep feeding us with this knowledge, my dude. Respect ✊🏽
I'm 21 years old 6.2" tall and 380 pounds and I need to do somthing with my life and with this video I'm jumping in my car and clocking 2 miles to see how far I "need" to go and start from there if he can do it I will too
I've gone up and down in weight quite a few times brotha. I'm 25, I'd always been active growing up but I wore husky pants when I was a kid, wrestled and boxed heavyweight in high school, even when I was little I never felt comfortable with my shirt off. I'm about 6'2" and when I was 22 I was 311lbs. I started at a trade school and lived on campus. There weren't really many attractive girls there and not a whole lot of activities. So in the first semester I ate clean and hit the gym 5-7 times a week because when I wasn't studying I wanted to focus on getting into shape. I got back down to 250lbs which was my wrestling weight in h.s. Unfortunately due to finances I had to live off campus my 2nd semester. I hit the gym just as hard/regularly but I didn't have the campus food available. Because of that I had to hit the local discount food store, I would heat up crapy food quick because I didn't have much time. I gained 20lbs back really quick and I didn't even need the scale because I felt it. DIET IS KEY. Don't stress the gym as much, drill into your brain clean eating that works for you. Whether that's intermittent fasting or 5-6 smaller meals a day. But you have to eat clean. Try to take a day or 2 every week to do meal prep. That way when you do get those cravings we big dudes get, you're snacking on healthy food.
Very inspiring!! I am a female, 6'3" and 350lbs and I need to lose weight. I am morbidly obese. I can see a light at the end of the tunnel now. Thanks for sharing your story.
still an inspiration to me pat. watched this video 4 years ago and i still come back to it. even though im not at my goal. this video helps. shit all your videos help.
everyone here that's overweight, you have to decide to make the complete lifestyle change and maintain a 100% clean diet. if your obese the way you lose weight is 90% diet and 10% excersize. I am only 2 weeks in to my new life but I will be successful because I want it 1000%. if your asking people to contact you and help you there's nothing anyone can do for you. you need a dr. and maybe a psychiatrist to help you begin to accept the change.
I FEEL YOUR STORY SO MUCH BECAUSE I AM LOOSING WEIGHT ON MY OWN AND THE TIME WHEN YOU FEEL SORE IS WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE EATING BUT TO SEE YOUR BODY AND FACE TRANSFORM INTO A NEW ONE IS WORTH THE PAIN AND SWEAT AND TEARS YOUR AN INSPIRATION TO PEOPLE LIKE ME GOD BLESS YOU BROTHER.
im finally at the moment in my transformation where ppl are really noticing and its not the fake sort of compliment, this is the best feeling, we all know the differance, only real men express emotion, his sniffle was like a earthquake, respect Pat
The discipline it would have taken for this dude to commit with losing all that weight and go through with it is something very few can talk about. That kind of determination is what turn ordinary men into true leaders and examples for others to follow.
Pat you really motivate me bro I've always been big my whole life I just never had anyone to push me and keep me on a diet or help me out I feel alone at times I'm not lazy I'm willing to put in the work to make a change in my life I'm 28 years old and if I don't change anything I'm scared my life will be cut short
Started at 252 lbs, going down to probably 130 till I can't lose body fat no more. Eating vegan, carbs out the wazoo. I lost about 25 lbs so far. It's going to take me over a year to lose this weight. I celebrate inside each time I weigh a new low on the scale in the morning. What I've found is that it's far easier for me to find motivation in things that draws me in (pictures of slim fit people) than things that I wanna move away from (videos of fat people who are themselves trying to lose weight). Patience is good given this will take over a year, but so is enjoying the journey. Like "possible pat" I walk to lose my weight along my vegan diet and got myself some portable audio player to listen to while I walk every day. Something that's very important is to find a diet that is sustainable. If your diet is a weird extreme one (like I tried once) you won't last on it. Now I have a diet and can hold it for months without a cheat meal because I like it. I just wanna be comfortable in my own skin and not have this big belly pushing my shirt forward. I also wanna look my absolute best and there's no better time for this than when I'm young. I don't have cheat meals ever nor do I eat between meals. But It's not because I'm more strong willed than the next guy it's because my diet is more sustainable and I eat as much as I'm hungry for. Find a sustainable diet that will make you lose weight and it won't be a struggle to eat healthy meals. It's not meant to be so hard to lose weight. If it is walk a different road to your destination. I don't struggle for my diet or my walks and fat is just coming off of me automatically.
Congrats on weight loss! Admire your focus when you first started. Just like to say I love your demeanor, you're calm, and cool and laid back. I being overweight prefer someone teaching me like that than being loud and boisterous, but that's just me! God bless you're doing a great work!
thank you for posting this PAT. actualy i'm 29 and 350lbs. i'm tired of being fat, i'm tired hearing bunch of discrimination, from my friends and family. thank you for motivating me.
Tearing up watching this..I'm 56 yr old woman, at one point I weighed 298, I was depressed, had anxiety attacks ..I then was put in blood pressure meds, then later I was told to take diabetic meds to help me lose weight..that's another story..I've lost about 40 pounds after that..I've been going up and down the scale for years..now I'm walking but just can't seem to get settled in how to cook, what to cook, how to prepare food..trying to break old habits, some are easier then others. I'm not consistent on following thru all the time. But your video , FB page inspires me to keep going!! Love that! Thank you Pat!! I'm thinking about have you put me a meal plan together, but I want to be able to cook for my husband as well.
Great interview. I've been following possible pat on IG for about a year now and he's such an inspiration to me. Great guy, even took the time to give some advice, a random stranger, half way around the world. Keep it up.
Brother, your story mirrors my own in so many ways! I am currently in the middle of my own journey. I'm proud to say I am down 279.4lbs since I started my weight loss journey 7 years ago, when I too was 600lbs. I'm trying to hit my next goal of 299lbs by Jan 1st. Thank you for sharing your story and giving more inspiration to keep pushing!
Im trying to lose weight myself, im 20 and ive been overweight pretty much my whole life. Im 305 pounds now. What made me want to change my life is im sick of being called Big Dawg or Big J, also I hate the way I look.
I rarely ever comment on YT but since I'm in a relatively similar situation then you were this has do be one of the best motivational videos I've ever seen. Not just because I've been big all my life for the past 29 years, but also because I started changing my diet, started working out and getting help from a trainer. I've already had my bad days were I thought about quitting, but seeing this video just gave me the feeling to not quit. Not again. I've quit so many uncomfortable situations over and over again, this has to stop. Thanks Pat and awesome work you've achieved so far. Greeting from Germany.
I am happy. I start to see that my efforts are paying off. I lost 17cm of my belly. I thought it was impossible. I need to push more. I want the most tiniest belly I can ever have.
Thank you for this video Pat. I think you are the first person I can say made say I can do this! Everything hurts and I feel like I am carrying bags of cement around. It makes me just give up and people don't understand (yes have to work on that what are ppl saying hurdle real quick). Each time I exercise my body freaks out in the worst way. A week before Christmas I did sit ups and The next week or so was pure hell. I couldn't stand or sit because my back was in sheer pain. My whole body felt like I had been hit by logs. Hearing you confirm that sometimes you couldn't walk for days, just really shifted my perspective in a major way! I really want to thank you. Your eyes are honest and spirit humble - you are made for greatness. Thank you.
You are an inspiration. I'm in the middle of my journey of not only weight loss but also recovering from a brain injury. Don't know if it was you or a guy that looked a lot like you but I thought I saw you at my rehab hospital today but I didn't ask because my social skills are still awkward. Thank you for sharing your journey, you helped me get a step closer to my goal.
I've seen you in the media from time to time. I'm so happy you have a TH-cam channel. you truly are am inspiration! your absolutely right if you treat your fitness like work and you just do it. things will change. You will become happier and you will see the results you want. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us.
This video is exactly what I wanted to see I'm 5'7" 400 lbs and I really gotta make a change I just feel so unhealthy my diet is a disaster fast food almost every day and I drink 2 energy drinks a day. Iv had failed attempts at weight loss In the past but the excuses have to stop I gotta get serious about my health and learn to love and respect myself enough to become healthy.
Love and respect brother ! Am losing weight now ! Am down 37 pounds since February 11 and looking to drop a few more. Working out and cutting soft drinks ( plus WILL POWER ) was key for me !
People have to view fruits and vegetables as luxury foods that are more desirable than junk food. It's all in how you look at stuff. It's mostly mental + good food choices. He is 100% right about diet. I changed only my diet, fruits and vegetables, and meat. No bread, pasta, rice, (carbs), and no sugary desserts (cookies, cakes, candy, etc.) No pop or juice (added sugar). Except for 1 cheat day a week. So I eat healthy 6 days a week and I get 3 meals where I can have bad stuff. I either do it all in one day or spread it out. I lost 22 lbs in 4 weeks.
Great advice brother, I just started a month ago I am 5'11 from 375 I lost around 20 pounds In a month I am looking to get better it's hard right but I am fighting to loose it thank you again
You might not believe me but at this moment am obese am trying to change my self day 24 off my journey. My body hurts like crazy for the person who will see this 3 years from now always remember to buy a whey premium shake and always stay true to your self and stop asking people how you look

ProformanceTrucks you sure can. I lost 50 pounds myself. not easy but slowly you will make it.
Good luck 👍

Mentally ill think being healthy is toxic masculinity.
Young man, I am so proud of you on your health journey and your weight loss. You look great bro. Keep up the good work.
This is the best weight loss encouragement video I have ever seen. Thank You
I'm 5'9 298 lbs. I was 311 a week ago. i just cut out white carbs sweets and sodas and fast food
Jamison Hammonds be careful losing weight so fast. 3 pounds a week is the best route to go for permanent loss
Actually, that's not how it is for everyone. I've lost 10.5 pounds in a week too, but that was the first week. Good for you Jamison..stay focus my young brother and you will be just fine.
02:47 That pause!!!! Right in the feels, you start hating humanity due to those people. They won't let you live like a normal person.
