It's so wonderful watching you and your family living the life style of homesteading! You are so good at it! I'm 65 and have 2 children ages in their 30s...with to small grandchildren age 2 and 5 years old....I love nature ❤️ and if I had to do it again I would have loved to live this way.....but God chooses different paths for everyone....in my heart I know I would have loved it.....God bless you and your family....he has blessed you all! ❤️
Jessica, I don’t know if this suggestion might help you but my kids( 9) found it easier and definitely enjoyed it better when I served their greens in that I called “scrabbled omelettes” I would cook the potatoes then add my greens then eggs last, all in one pan. Since the would put ketchup ( 2 used mustard) on their eggs and omelettes anyways, it was actually no big deal to cook it all together, plus it saved me a dish or 2 to wash. Sometimes I’d throw in leftover bacon, ham or sausage but it was usually without meat. And sometimes they’d ask for cheese but I know that you all are dairy free. But I hope that helps. Enjoy your summer and may God bless your lives in the most fruitful and abundant ways.
The overall quality of life is what I'm so blessed to witness in your family- it is beautiful! God is good! I adore your family time, gathering for chores and food. Most of all- watching your son praying and thankful to God is what we need more of in this world! Well done Mom and Dad! ❤
I agree 2 to 4 years old is my favorite time with kids. I was a preschool teacher for 15 years and just recently retired. Still drop by occasionally to visit them because I miss them so much. The tea sounds amazing.
You have an amazing family. As someone who also lives in northwest Ohio, I can definitely relate to the views from your homestead and the current weather. We only have one child left at home, and I love watching your family with the younger kids and siblings playing together. I know people always say it -- but enjoy these times. It seems like they go by so quickly.
T u Jessica. Wonderful video. Just AMAZING VIDEO. It reminded me if the years with all my brothers sisters. I'm #8 daughter and #13child. My daddy has said he had his own baseball team. Lol. I really love your homestead. The kitchen curtains. Your views of your world from the windows. So blessed
Hi Jessica👋👋👋 TYFS, I enjoy your vids so much, I love seeing what’s happening on your homestead, you’ve got incredibly beautiful gardens, I enjoy your cooking and seeing what your children are up to as well, you’ve got such a calming voice that I appreciate very much. I hope you and your family have a peaceful and blessed day♥️💫✨👼🏻✨💫♥️
I just wanted tell you to be you and your authentic self. I appreciate your faith. Anyone saying hateful things is the devil at work.. stay positive and take care of yourself. Many blessings to you!!!
Thoroughly enjoyed this video! I'd planned to watch last night but by the time the church picnic was over & I'd walked the dog I was just too tired. In the heat of the day I'm now relaxing inside, and this was a great way to do it. Watching the family tromp through the woods brought back fond memories of being in my 20s and helping my oldest sister and her husband cut wood, haul it home, and split & stack it for winter...he's been gone nearly 30 years now, so it was good to relive those times. Thank you for that.
Jessica, this video was so encouraging to watch! May the Lord continue to bless your family and grow that beautiful baby in your womb. Thank you for the peppermint tea idea. My little ones will love it. I agree, with large families the kids always has a playmate. Can't wait for the soap making video❤️
I just want to add my appreciation for the peace and calm that your videos bring to my week. I know that as your children grow and mature they will appreciate being able to look back on these chronicles of their homelife and they can enjoy these times again. Blessings to us all.
As a child growing up on a farm one way to make ends meet was to sell eggs which meant that sometimes we would run out of chicken eggs leaving the option of duck, goose or guinea eggs. Since each of us kids was responsible for fixing our own breakfasts it was essential to be up and in the kitchen early so you would have first dibs on eggs (fav breakfast was eggs & fried tates). If we were out of chicken eggs my next choice was the guinea eggs. Sometimes I would use duck egg if it was mixed in with the potatoes and we had ketchup in the house. They were a bit rich for my liking and I would do without if goose eggs was the only option. I used to be impervious to poison ivy which was great because I could rip it out with my bare hands. Unfortunately in my mid 40s that changed. The bad thing about your body becoming sensitive later in life is you aren't aware of the change until it happens and it can be a major exposure since you have spent years not being careful. It is humbling to suddenly realize that those who were complaining about it for years weren't wimps after all.
That sun oven is sooo cool! I live on the coast in the southeast of the US in a hurricane prone area. This would be a great addition to our preparations
💗Little Ben is growing so fast. He is now eating with grown-ups utensils. Your garden is looking wonderful! And it is so good to see the children playing. What an enjoyable video. Hugs to all of you.
I use the very hot western Australian summer sun brew my rooibos tea for me. I would love to get a solar oven one day; they are very pricey here in Oz. Thank you for sharing your beautiful family with me and your time. I’m learning a lot. 🌹Rosie of Oz🇦🇺 & 🐶Omega the Cavalier🐶
I fry my potatoes and greens in bacon grease too...nothing compares to the taste bacon grease gives. ..I also add smashed garlic cloves while sautéing my greens..my grandchildren love fried potatoes
Jessica I enjoy your videos so much what a blessing having a large family thank you for your channel is one of the best channels in TH-cam God bless your family 🙏🏼🌹
Love you and your family…your children are so smart and know how to do chores and help you with everything…your yard and garden is so well kept…you can tell a lot of work goes into having a beautiful homestead…hope you are taking care of yourself….
I grew up in a family much like yours, 8 children, Dad worked M-F, children helping on the farm with the animals, gardening, canning, freezing, cooking, house work etc. And YES, it was great having so many playmates to explore, play and have fun with. You and your husband are doing an awesome job raising your children.
Do you have any idea what a good Mom you are? It’s obvious your children are so happy and it’s just really nice to see. I look forward to your videos every Sunday and I also can’t say enough as to how well behaved and respectful every single one of your children are as well. It really makes me wish I had home schooled my youngest daughter (who is almost 21 now) and kept her away from cell phones, too much tv and social media. Don’t get me wrong, she’s a good kid, but she has told me herself about the negative impact social media had on her emotionally as a teenager in high school. She really struggled at times because she’s so sensitive and sweet, but we didn’t associate the social media with the negative impact it had on her emotional well being (anxiety and depression mostly). My oldest daughter is going on 32, so she didn’t grow up with as much, so wasn’t really affected like that. You inspire me to put my own phone down and focus on connecting more with my own girls and now two grandbabies. (Boy 4, girl 3)😁 So thank you for that. Many blessings to you and your beautiful growing family. 💛
Benji’s little face when he blew out the candle on his cake!! 🥹 my heart just burst with love! My little boy, Jude, will be 2 in September & he so reminds me of your Benji. Jude is my last baby, so I am revelling in every moment 🥰 Thank you for sharing such a beautiful video of your family. God bless
I made a lovely batch of wild rose jelly earlier this month. Such a fun time of year! Thank you for your tip on harvesting mulberries- using a sheet was a huge improvement.
Love to watch your videos on a Sunday morning 🌄. Such a blessed family you have. We also have a summer solstice baby, but she just turned 32, ha ha. Gods blessings 🙏
It's a wonderful to see your family grow I am also from a big family I'm very close with all of my siblings but everybody is growing up in different stages in their lives I'm so used to the house being full of noise and kids and children all the time and just looking at your videos reminds me of my childhood also but I don't think we did a lot of canning we did a lot of fresh eating but my parents was also farmers they grew a lot of stuff like Asian corn which is more sticky and more like a grain than a corn we did a lot of cucumbers cilantros tomatoes squashes and pumpkins and my mom grew a lot of herbs too thank you for sharing your experiences with us have a good day
Jessica, you always put out beautiful videos! Watching your kids play reminds me of when I was a kid. Good, innocent fun. Hope you have a wonderful summer. Stock up cause bad times are coming! SOONER than later. Wishing you guys all the best! Again, stay safe!! 🥰
I wanted to thankyou for sharing about ur outdoor kitchen. We ordered a campstove and it works great for canning. Once my canner reached pressure, we had to put on warm setting instead of low because it kept wanting to climb. We also ordered a flame tamer to try beneath the pots to make sure nothing warps my canning pots. Thankyou for such a great idea!
You have a beautiful family, thanks for sharing with us. When our girls were younger they were not fans of greens either until I started drizzling them with a mixture of cider vinegar mixed with a little honey. That seemed to help
Your property is so pretty. Such a sweet fun video. Such an amazing family. Ty so much for all that your share. It just blesses me and I learn so much. Be blessed.
I hope you are feeling better as you are moving along in this pregnancy. I struggle with energy levels and nausea at the beginning. I love second trimester because I always feel souch better! Prayers for you and your little one.
What a beautiful homestead and family. I enjoy your videos immensely. Thank you for sharing this part of your life.
