Those little faces at the end just stole the show! I love how grateful you are for your babies. I think sometimes people may get frustrated with kids and forget what a true blessing they really are. You never miss an opportunity to give them love and attention. I know it's not easy all the time. But you're definitely doing a great job 😊🧡.
This is a wonderful video to remind us all how food actually arrives at our table. I image there are many folks with no clue how fresh whole foods are grown, processed and used. Seeing the children interested in participating in the process is amazing. I look forward to your Sunday videos . There is always something new and useable that I take into my week. I grew up on a functioning farm so recognize the hard work involved and how your systematic method makes it look simple. You and your entire family are examples for us all to live , work and be well. Thank you. Have a glorious week.
What I love (and find comfort) about watching you: you are regularly thankful. You are thankful toward the symbiotic relationship your farm gives you (the compost); you are thankful for help from family; you have such a grateful attitude. Also the gift you are giving to David in valuing his baking gifts … no better gift to a child.
Love all your ideas for decorating & preserving. I know a large family is a lot of work but it's beautiful to see how everyone pitches in to get the work done. You are raising such great little workers!♥️
Jessica, after you powder the freeze dried hot sauce solids, use that fermenting brine to hydrate and thin and add into the hot sauce you made. Sometimes I will powder my odd and end greens mix into a jar. That mixed greens powder is then added to scrambled eggs, soups, spaghetti sauce, etc. it adds flavor and nutrients. If people want pumpkin purée, they can partially freeze vacuum seal bags with pumpkin purée and then vacuum seal. I grew pumpkins a few years ago and still have purée that I can quick thaw and add to recipes. Your family is a great team. I love seeing how patient your older kids are with your littles. It’s sweet and shows a lot of good character. You are definitely blessed. Have a blessed week.
This is my first year canning and I went in with some friends and bought a freeze dryer! I have learned so much from you and you have been so inspiring! Thank you for all your wonderful videos! ♥️
23:30. Be back to finish 👵🏻❣️ You my dear are a very busy lady ☺️ It’s so nice to see how all ages of your children are giving a helping hand to the process of food. Most kids don’t have a clue😔. Not being mean, just honest 👵🏻❣️
Those flowers turned out so lovely!! 🥰 I've called the Midwest home for many years, but where I grew up in California, I would always love to see people's offrendas during this time of year for Dia de Los Muertos. Traditionally, marigolds of all kinds are used as decoration. So, so pretty & bright! Thank you for sharing your harvest season! 💗 Praying for a safe & empowering birth for you & baby. 🙏🏼
I just enjoy watching your kiddos. It brings back such good memories for me of when mine were young. We had 5 children that are grown now and 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. We had our 1 st frost last night so I was busy yesterday getting ready for it. Thank you for sharing. May God bless your wonderful family. Love from Missouri
Thanks for inspiring me Jessica ❤. This weekend I preserved my own pickles, tomato sauce, chicken stock and made a pie. I was feeling very “three rivers homestead”.
You do such a wonderful job narrating the footage of all you are doing, it's funny that on your end all the hard work & energetic output translates into the viewer getting to feel so relaxed watching the tasks get accomplished and listening to the calming narrating voice:)
October starts soup month. So for October all my soups are called Frankenstein soup, a little of everything. November is Thanksgiving soups...pumpkin, squash ectera. December is Christmas surprise soups. never know what you'll get. January is pasta soups. February is...all included. March is broths and whatever is still available from other months. And if April is still chilly...chili, bean, minestrone soup, stuffed pepper soup. Never gets boring with soup here. Just don't run out of crackers or breads.😉👍
Love seeing the kids play gently with the young uns, when my kids play it's like a bare Knuckle boxing comp going on, there is always someone crying or bloody and they are girls!
Hi, Jessica. Thanks for showing how to make fermented hot sauce. I have a bunch of hot wax peppers I need to do something with. Seeing your children play is my favorite part of your videos.
I love high fives from small children, they never cease to make me laugh! Every little one seems to do the same thing-they half-heartedly swing an open hand towards the adults hand and just keep trucking. They are like, “No time to spend on this nonsense, I’m off to find a new mission.” Cracks me up every time. 😹😹😹
Another gently paced, delightful video. Thank you so much 🙏🏼. I think of a home to be a shared effort, and a homestead perhaps even more so. I wonder if instead of being so accustomed to saying “helping me” when one of the children are pitching in it could make a difference in the atmosphere if it was also sometimes seen as “helping us” out. Or simply “helping”. After all, they are helping themselves and their siblings (and the animals! etc) as well with every task they lend an effort to. For me it weaves the togetherness and the sense of duty, adding to pride and love. They seem so eager to be included (at least what we see) and sometimes phrasing can have greater impacts than we realize. Blessings to your whole crew… ☀️
That hot sauce looked great, and, since Adam liked it we are going to try it. Aw, you little boys, goodness! All of your children are a joy to see. Love to everyone and as always... HUGS!
Love all your videos. I learn so much from watching them and reminded on how to use everything in the garden, leftovers, etc and not have so much food waste.
Harvest Right will be happy with this video because now crafters will be wanting one to dry beautiful flowers!! Who knew until now that freeze drying flowers are beautiful! I want one now!!! But mainly for food but drying flowers is an added bonus!!!
Your veggie soup looks so good! I've been watching the Souptember collab and wanting homemade soup!!!!!!! I love watching your children working together so well doing their chores. I recommended your videos to another homesteader who is feeling overwhelmed by everything. She if feeling guilty b/c she cannot do "everything". I told her the "mom" doesn't have to do everything and I referred her to your planner and how you let your children pick and choose chores. I hope she will follow you!!!!! Please take care and God bless!!!!!
I haven't been feeling my best the past few days; but when I tell you I have spent the majority of my time watching & loving these videos, I truly have!!! I told my friend today that you and your sweet family are healing me! I truly feel on the mend. Thank you for sharing your beautiful, wonderful family. Homesteading has always been a dream of mine and your videos are so inspiring and relaxing to watch
I have never canned pumpkin, only froze it, so this was so nice to see how easy it was! I grew some of my own herbs this year and wanted to preserve them. I don’t have a freeze drier, so will have to dehydrate them. I’ve been wanting to make hot sauce and we love Tabasco sauce, so this was super helpful! All of it! The kids are so cute and such great helpers! They are all learning so much! The flower garland is so pretty! I will have to try that one of these days! I love bringing the garden indoors! That soup looked delicious and so did those biscuits! Hope you all have a warm and blessed Autumn!
I do love your videos and watch as quick as I can every week. I want to let you know that I would really love to hear the kids and the noise they make. I really miss that as my kids are grown and gone. I know you like to do voice-overs. Please reconsider letting them chit chat on video for us. They are so precious!!!
Thank you for another wonderful video 😊 I love the preservation of pumpkin, whether freeze vacuum packed or canned in chunks. It’s such a cost savings to have pumpkin on hand.
Wonderful video! I when dry flowers for decorations, Before O cut any heads off I let the plant stem sit in a cup of liquid starch for a couple of hours, the plant and flower soak it up and it helps to maintain the petal stiffness and color of the flower. Marigold make a great medicinal tea, but do look up the health benifits of them, always good to look things up especially nutrician wise.
As a mom I know it’s probably not all the time but kudos to your older kids for the patience they show their younger siblings just learning the family tasks. ❤
Good morning my friend. Devotions, then your video, a great way to start my day and week! Thanks for sharing your beautiful life with us! You’re amazing! Have a blessed week my friend! ❤😊
We dry and powder our pumpkin. Works great for pie etc. As you just add hot water to make the thickness you want for puree or can use powders in soups, drinks, muffins etc.
I use an old canning lid to scrape the pumpkin guts out - I always have a standard lid for small pumpkins and a wide mouth lid for large pumpkin. You have to try it!! It works so well.
You have such a beautiful family. I'm enjoying getting to know all of you and love watching you weekly. We live in Ohio, in Guernsey County. It's nice to watch someone else from Ohio. Thank you for sharing all that you do.
just came across your vlog ,,love love it all..all those kids,,and animals ,,a garden and chickens..my dream ..i had only 4 children, but we had milk cow, pigs, chickens, made butter , wheat bread from the berries, ground the wheat, canned all summer. but now the kids are grown, we dont do so much..but i love seeing others doing these things...you are amazing..and the kids are so cute, great channel...
You and your family always amaze me. What an inspiration for all of us that have the pleasure to watch you. God's Grace is definitely with your family. God is Good. I always look forward to your videos.
Love the video. Everyone helping and contributing. I want to have a homestead one day and you explain everything beautifully. I can't wait and you and your family are great inspiration. Have a wonderful week
Great idea on Tabasco style chili, I’m definitely going to try this. It’s my husband favorite as well. Thank you for a wonderful video! So nice seeing kids enjoy homestead life and getting life skills. Amazing to watch ❤
Oh my just a great great video. I was just thinking how beautiful hair on blue shirt boy. Than you mentioned John John's hair color. Such a special family so much talent under one roof.i was spending day with my nephew (under hospice care) last Friday. Another niece and nephew from another brother came for a visit. God family gardening etc. Have a blessed week and pray for our family as we travel on this journey with this nephew . He is looking forward to heaven.
Jessica you are such a wealth of knowledge and a blessing to so many! I enjoy learning from your videos every week. I am 44 and on my whole food/preservation journey. It has been so much fun learning new ways to utilize food with zero to no waste. Thank you!
Hello Jessica, I LOVE the way your children help you with all different things around the home. It was so cute seeing the three boys at the last part of the video in there pajamas. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. 🐶😊🐶😊🐶😊
I want to thank you for sharing your life with us. I had surgery on Monday and this video was a blessing today, I was feeling down and this lifted me up ❤
Delightful video thank you, I may suggest you use a canning lid to scrape the insides of the squash . I saw that on another video and it works great. God bless your family 💕🙏😇
Always such a blessing to watch your videos every Sunday as I’m getting ready for church! May God continue to bless you and your BEAUTIFUL growing family! 💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
It's always a pleasure to watch you and your family and how you always make the most of every opportunity for learning and enjoying time together while working. You are giving your children the most amazing life skills 😊.
I would love to see a video on your planner! If you buy stickers or labels, where you get them, what pens you like, that kind of thing. You inspired me to get out my happy planner again for this year of homeschool!
I have a bunch of pie pumpkins I got for .50 cents each which is astonishing on Guam. I'm pressure canning the pumpkin right now. There are so many seeds and I said to my husband I need to go to you tube I remember Jessica doing a video on Pumpkin and Pumpkin seeds. So I know it's a year later but Thank you!!
Love your videos, Jessica! Seeing the little one with the pumpkin stem reminded me that my Mom used to carve shapes in these and potato chunks so we could use them as home-made stamps. A fun project!

something about your videos is so healing! I just love the reassuring way you do things and how everything is all right ! God bless you and your family!
I love this video! You have a great family and wonderful little helpers. I’m always so impressed with how hard they work. It reminds me of the way I grew up. When everyone helps things get done faster and it takes everyone to run efficiently. You and your husband are doing a great job raising your family. God Bless y’all
The lady at "living traditions homestead " in one of her videos made a hot sauce for her husband. She said they like the hot spicy stuff. I love the wide variety of tallents that your children have. I think its wonderful how you help them to develop what interests they have!
Hi Jessica. I get out of bed and constantly check for your video even though I know it doesn’t appear until lunchtime here in the Uk. Thank you for your recipes and inspiration.
Wow impressive biscuits Elizabeth and that garland…truly beautiful! How you do what you do is astounding ! But I know as a mother you do what ever it takes…stay blessed
Yes, It brings a wonderful comfort to watch yr videos and how yr children are happily involved....and help you... Everything flows beautifully.. thanku..
have you considered freeze drying your pumpkin? making powder out of it saves a lot of space and it rehydrates very well. you can use it in bread and cookies and pies. Just making a suggestion. I love your videos and I'm think your kids are awesome.
Hi Jessica, i love all of your videos, you are a supermom! this is probably my first comment to you. I loved your marigold garland. You hung it just the way we hang it in our doors in my culture.
I am so jealous of all who can grow flowers! I never achieve growing flowers, especially from seed. Gracy did a great job with the Garland. It's beautiful!
Thank you so much for showing how to store the pumpkins. We have so many and no root cellar/cold room...yet. Here in Northeast PA, we had our first frost last week. We are giving garden to the chickens after we clear out the pumpkins and fence off our garlic and onions.
Those little faces at the end just stole the show! I love how grateful you are for your babies. I think sometimes people may get frustrated with kids and forget what a true blessing they really are. I love how the kids pitch in and help do everything around the house and garden.
Here in Norway it is Sunday afternoon now, and your videos have become a really nice Sunday afternoon highlight
😳 Those hay bales are HEAVY. I'm stunned at how strong the children are as they lift and move them. Thanks much for all of your videos.

One year, my husband made "onion" powder out of shallots. It was the best!
Omgosh. I loved the ending with the three boys being goofy. So sweet.
Thoroughly enjoy your videos...children are so precious. :)
to cut spice down , when prepering hot pepers we use carrots it realy helps

Lady you are amazing - a real inspiration to all of us!
Love seeing that food preservation is a family activity. I was raised with my grandparents, preservation season was a family season.
That green onion tops you can use it to make green onion pesto. You can mix it with basil pesto or use it alone. So yummy with some pasta.
I love how you never waste anything, at 76, I’m still learning things from you
That hot sauce looked great, and, since Adam liked it we are going to try it. Aw, you little boys, goodness! All of your children are a joy to see. Love to everyone and as always... HUGS!

What beautiful children you are blessed with. It is easy to see they love each other.
We dehydrated and powdered our pumpkin this year. Saves so much space and can still make the same recipes. Just thought I’d share! God bless!

Wow, freeze drying flowers for decoration is kind of genius.

The dogs are so well behaved, waiting patiently for the little one to spill their food in correct location 😁 Such great footage, thanks for sharing!
Love the video. Everyone helping and contributing. I want to have a homestead one day and you explain everything beautifully. I can't wait and you and your family are great inspiration. Have a wonderful week

Hi Lori how are you doing today
It's always a pleasure to watch you and your family and how you always make the most of every opportunity for learning and enjoying time together while working. You are giving your children the most amazing life skills 😊.
I would love to see a video on your planner! If you buy stickers or labels, where you get them, what pens you like, that kind of thing. You inspired me to get out my happy planner again for this year of homeschool!
The video on my planner is linked in this video's description
I have a bunch of pie pumpkins I got for .50 cents each which is astonishing on Guam. I'm pressure canning the pumpkin right now. There are so many seeds and I said to my husband I need to go to you tube I remember Jessica doing a video on Pumpkin and Pumpkin seeds. So I know it's a year later but Thank you!!
great episode, I love using all the parts, and your carrot eaters.
Love your videos, Jessica! Seeing the little one with the pumpkin stem reminded me that my Mom used to carve shapes in these and potato chunks so we could use them as home-made stamps. A fun project!
That sounds really fun. We will do that with our other pumpkins!
Your children are the cutest little helpers, I love your weekly updates
Such a lovely family!!
Your children are so amazing! They're such a blessing! You're a wonderful mama! 🙏💕
OMgosh, I saw a meme on Facebook that said us Midwesterners immediately start making soup the minute the temperature drops. So true, even with living in SC now, I'm from Toledo, OH and I've made vegetable soup and chili in the last week since fall weather is here! :)
something about your videos is so healing! I just love the reassuring way you do things and how everything is all right ! God bless you and your family!
We are doing winter prep here in Northern Michigan, already numerous nights at 32 degrees.
Elizabeth’s biscuits looked fantastic.
I enjoyed this as usual 😀
It’s great watching your littles work hard, enjoy the fruits of your labor for energy to be silly ❤
I love this video! You have a great family and wonderful little helpers. I’m always so impressed with how hard they work. It reminds me of the way I grew up. When everyone helps things get done faster and it takes everyone to run efficiently. You and your husband are doing a great job raising your family. God Bless y’all
Getting caught up on your vlogs! So happy the cows are still doing well! I can’t wait to try canning pumpkin myself! Thanks for sharing!
I wish I had a lovely daughter to bake the biscuits.
Enjoy that time!
Yes, It brings a wonderful comfort to watch yr videos and how yr children are happily involved....and help you... Everything flows beautifully.. thanku..
You should use your dill pickle powder on the pumpkin seeds!
have you considered freeze drying your pumpkin? making powder out of it saves a lot of space and it rehydrates very well. you can use it in bread and cookies and pies. Just making a suggestion. I love your videos and I'm think your kids are awesome.
Enjoying all this projects! Thanks for sharing all these homestead experiments with us
Hi Jessica, i love all of your videos, you are a supermom! this is probably my first comment to you. I loved your marigold garland. You hung it just the way we hang it in our doors in my culture.
I didn’t realize you could safely cube then can pumpkin, thanks so much. Loved the kids train at the end. God Bless.
Beautiful garland! Well done, Gracie!
I just love seeing all the kids getting involved to help. Thank you for sharing and God Bless
Sunday morning sunrise is even better with your video. Praying for a blessed happy week for your sweet family.
I am so jealous of all who can grow flowers! I never achieve growing flowers, especially from seed. Gracy did a great job with the Garland. It's beautiful!
Hi Tina how are are you doing?
Dear Jessica, thank you for reminding of the nessesity to plan 🙂
Thank you so much for showing how to store the pumpkins. We have so many and no root cellar/cold room...yet. Here in Northeast PA, we had our first frost last week. We are giving garden to the chickens after we clear out the pumpkins and fence off our garlic and onions.
I really enjoy watching your videos. I have learned so much! Your children are precious. ❤
